Storm damage spotted across NEPA

(WBRE/WYOU) — With heavy winds and power outages, many are seeing damage across the Keystone State.
Heavy winds are to blame for downed power lines, backed-up traffic, and closed businesses in Lackawanna County.
Just off the O'Neil highway in Dunmore was where a pole and powerlines have been stripped down.
The pole and powerlines came down around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, and police tell 28/22 News they landed on two cars.
Officials say one woman needed to be checked out by EMS, but she is okay.
Fire crews and PPL are working on the scene as Dunmore Police are out directing traffic.
Several nearby businesses, restaurants, and gas stations have all lost power here in this section of Dunmore.
Police tell 28/22 News they expect it to be out in this area for at least the remainder of the night.

The Dunmore area wasn't the only area hit.
Over in Luzerne County, winds collapsed a building into pieces in Avoca on 722 Mill Street. It appears to be abandoned at this time.

PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) – Palmer town officials shared that crews will be conducting hydrant tests Tuesday evening. Overnight ramp closure on I-91N ramp in Springfield on Tuesday Palmer Water District #1 announced that hydrant testing will take place on Randall Street after 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The surrounding areas will be flushed to clear the lines overnight. Residents are being reminded that these activities may cause temporary discoloration in water, and that hot water use should be avoided during hydrant testing. You should not drink water or run laundry while it is discolored. On Wednesday morning, it is recommended that cold water be run for a few minutes in order to clear the lines. Chris spoke with students in the 5th and 6th grade about all things weather. He said that many of them even watch 22News (mostly because their parents do) and that it was a fun time. 22News Storm Team Forecast Discussion A round of showers moved through Tuesday morning, and there may be some sun in the afternoon. However, another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms is likely late afternoon and early evening. High temperatures will be in the low to mid-70s. NWS issues overnight flash flood warnings in multiple counties

(WBRE/WYOU) — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flash Flood Warning that lasts into the early hours of Tuesday morning for part of Pennsylvania. The NWS has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the following counties until 2:00 a.m. Tuesday: Union County Snyder County Shortly before 11:00 p.m. Monday night, the NWS said Doppler Radar indicated thunderstorms that were capable of producing heavy rainfall could impact the affected areas. Weather Alert: Flood watch in effect for majority of NEPA The NWS encourages drivers to turn around when encountering flooded roads. Authorities also advise residents to be especially cautious at night when it's more difficult to recognize the dangers of flooding.
