Kyle Walker risks wrath of Man City and Pep Guardiola with Tottenham confession
Kyle Walker has enjoyed huge success at Manchester City since quitting Tottenham but admits he'd sacrifice a Premier League title to have landed the Europa League in north London
Kyle Walker has confessed he would give up one of his Premier League titles with Manchester City to be able to call himself a Europa League winner with Tottenham. The right-back spent eight years in north London during the period where their lack of silverware was continually mocked.
The current crop of Tottenham stars have been able to end 17 years of frustration by beating Manchester United in Europe recently. It led to jubilant scenes with Walker's former team-mate Son Heung-min lifting the trophy aloft.
The 35-year-old admits to being envious of those who were able to end the club's wait and would be willing to give up one of his Premier League triumphs to be able to call himself a Europa League winner.
Walker concedes he wouldn't give up his first - which came in 2018 as part of the historic centurions - but would sacrifice one of his other five to have the honour of being a Europa League winner with Tottenham.
He said on the Kyle Walker Podcast: "I'd probably give up one Premier League title, not the first, to have won that Europa League with Tottenham."
Walker, who joined Tottenham in 2009 after coming through the ranks at Sheffield United, added: "I know what it means. I'd probably give my second, its hard to give one away, but for what that moment meant. To be in that Spurs squad that won a trophy."
Walker was part of Mauricio Pochettino's young side that included the likes of Harry Kane, Son, Dele Alli and Danny Rose. They finished second in the Premier League back in 2017 but Walker was the first player to decide that his career was best served elsewhere.
His switch to Manchester saw his career excel and Walker's trophy cabinet has thrived, especially when compared to some of his former Tottenham team-mates who remained committed to the cause in north London.
Son has just claimed his first honour. Kane left for Bayern Munich two years ago and has just claimed his first trophy. Walker meanwhile has six league titles, two FA Cups, four Carabao Cups and a Champions League.
Walker now faces an uncertain future at the Etihad. He left to join AC Milan on loan in January but they've decided not to make the move permanent. He has one year left on his contract and will have to return for pre-season training later this summer unless another switch can be sorted with Pep Guardiola seemingly moving on without the veteran right-back.

Former Hearts captain Steven Pressley begins his first league campaign as Dundee head coach at home to Hibernian on the Sunday, following the Leith club's Europa League tie with Midtjylland. Champions Celtic will unfurl the league flag later that day ahead of hosting St Mirren in a 4.30pm kick-off.
