Hearts jet to Spain to prepare for new season

Spain has been confirmed as the destination for Heart of Midlothian FC as they prepare for the season under new head coach Derek McInnes. The Men in Maroon jet to the Iberian coast in late June for seven days and they can look forward to double and even triple training sessions. Gym work will also be on the agenda as the Jambos gear up for their season opener against Dunfermline Athletic at Tynecastle on Saturday, July 12 in the Premier Sports Cup (17.15). Hearts will also take part in a closed-doors friendly against Crawley Town who play in the English League Two. McInnes told the club's official website: 'Trips like these are a vital part of preparing properly for the season ahead. 'It is also good for the players to spend time with each other.' Meanwhile, the seat move window for existing season ticket holders is now open and any fans looking to relocate should visit the Ticket Office at Tynecastle Park. Seat moves are limited, however, due to the high rates of renewal. Finally, Craig Gordon's Testimonial is against Sunderland at Tynecastle on Saturday, July 26 (3pm). Thieves and tourists can't stop stealing x-rated street sign from seaside town

One family friendly seaside town has a road sign so dirty its enough to stop you calling anyone 'daddy' ever again. The explicit road name has caught the attention of tourists and thieves, causing a headache for bewildered locals. At the centre of the furore is none other than Daddyhole Road in Torquay. Even more stunning than the name is its links to a cave where the devil is said to live. Torquay Council keeps on having to replace the Daddyhole Road street signs as they keep vanishing. Councillors, meanwhile, have been left scratching their heads as to why its sparked so much interest. Conservative Cllr Nick Bye told a recent cabinet meeting: 'Quite why it gets taken away so frequently, who knows?', Devon Live reported. He added: 'There are souvenir hunters who seem to be quite fascinated by the title of Daddyhole Road, and the sign keeps disappearing. 'Twice in this term of office we have had to get replacements.' A councillor saying 'daddyhole' was not on your 2025 bingo card, was it? The astonishing road name is not the only 'daddyhole' in the popular seaside town, which welcomes close to 5 million visitors each year. The street leads to Daddyhole Plain, which offers one of the most popular viewpoints of the bay and the ocean. More Trending Tourists will be stunned to discover this x-rated name comes from a local myth about the Devil. Daddy is an old English term for the Devil, who according to local legend lives in a cave at the bottom of the cliff. According to one historic tale, named the 'Demon Hunter of Daddyhole Plain', a lady called Matilda walked on the Daddyhole Cliffs and encountered the Devil on a horse. Legend has it you can still hear her crying in the middle of the night as the waves crash against the cliffs. The UK has a long list of street names which are enough to take your eyes off the road and get your mind wandering. From Cornwall, to Merseyside and Scotland, ever corner of the UK has a rude or x-rated location. Here are some of the best: Bell End near Lickey End Brown Willy, Cornwall Boggy Bottom, Abbots Langley Nob End, South Lancashire Fanny Barks, Durham Scratchy Bottom, Dorset Minge Lane, Worcestershire Dicks Mount, Suffolk Crotch Crescent, Oxford Cockplay, Northumberland Bushygap, Northumberland Cockermouth, Cumbria Shitterton, Dorset Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@ For more stories like this, check our news page. Thankfully, TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice Awards have been announced, and the online review platform has curated a roundup of stellar places to stay based on hotels that garner the most 'above-and-beyond' reviews from users over the last year.
