Harley-Davidson recalls more than 82,000 Motorcycles due to crash risk, which models are affected
Harley-Davidson , an American motorcycle manufacturer, is recalling more than 82,000 bikes following an issue that increases the chances of a crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is reporting. In a recall notice issued on June 12, 2025 (Thursday), the federal agency stated, 'The mounting tab on the rear shock pre-load adjuster may break on certain 2018-2024 Softail motorcycles, allowing the rear shock absorber adjuster to damage the rear tire, causing a loss of tire pressure.' The possible malfunction can lead to a risk of crash or death, officials stated. As of early June 2025, Harley-Davidson had not reported any deaths or injuries in connection to the issue. Some vehicles included in the recall were repaired in the past under recall 23V591 and will require a new remedy to be completed. At Rs20.21cr, NMC hikes civic poll budget by a record 167%
Nagpur: With the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) functioning without an elected general body since March 2022, the civic administration has steadily increased its budgetary provision for holding the impending 2025-26 civic polls, earmarking a record Rs20.21 crore. This allocation marks a significant 167% rise over the Rs7.56 crore spent during the last civic elections held in 2017 and a 242% increase compared to the Rs5.90 crore spent in 2012. The enhanced provision also reflects a 68.4% jump from the Rs12 crore NMC used to routinely set aside since 2021-22. However, with no elections announced until now, the civic body was diverting the earmarked funds towards providing basic amenities during mid-year budget revisions. Municipal commissioner and administrator Abhijeet Chaudhari, who presented a Rs5,438.61 crore budget for the 2025-26 fiscal, increased the provision anticipating State Election Commission (SEC) announcing the long-delayed polls this year. The new poll provision accounts for about 0.37% of NMC's total budget. A senior official from NMC's election department told TOI that the steep hike in allocation was based on the expected cost escalation due to inflation, increased staff deployment, technology use, polling logistics, and more polling stations. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cervecería Nacional CFD: Calcula cuánto podrías ganar invirtiendo solo $100 Empieza a invertir Inscríbete ahora Undo "In 2012, the civic polls cost Rs5.90 crore which jumped to Rs7.56 crore in 2017. Considering the rise in operational and administrative costs, Rs20.21 crore has been earmarked this time," the official said. The govt has now ordered ward delimitation, reviving expectations of elections after three years. Once delimitation is finalised, the SEC is expected to issue the election schedule. Civic activists have welcomed the increased allocation but warned that elections must be held without delay. "This year's enhanced poll provision shows the administration is preparing seriously," said a source. However, the election department has a staff strength of only four officials. Even though election procedures have already commenced, the civic administration is yet to increase the manpower required for the election process. Sources said the department needs at least a workforce of 20, including computer operators. An official privy to the development admitted the shortage of manpower and clarified that the manpower too would be enhanced in a couple of days. New bottling plant in Naini to boost water supply for rly stns
Prayagraj: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) is setting up a new Rail Neer packaged drinking water bottling plant in Saraswati Hi-Tech City, Naini, Prayagraj to ensure adequate supply of hygienic drinking water for passengers. Currently, the daily demand is being met by trucks transporting water from the Maneri plant in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. However, due to increasing demand, especially during summers, supply shortages often force the sale of alternative water brands at stations. The new plant, with a daily production capacity of 100,000 litres, is expected to end these shortages and ensure the availability of standardised, high-quality drinking water at stations and food plazas throughout the Prayagraj region. Once operational, this plant will supply 22,000 litres of Rail Neer daily to nine railway stations across the Prayagraj city region, including the busy Prayagraj Junction. The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has allotted 25 acres of land for this project, and an investment of Rs 25 crore has been proposed. The key aim of the project is to provide safe, packaged drinking water to rail passengers, helping to prevent water-borne diseases and improve the overall quality of railway services. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trade Bitcoin & Ethereum – No Wallet Needed! In addition to this plant, UPSIDA has also allocated 13 acres each to Bisleri and Kemco companies. Bisleri is set to invest Rs 270 crore in its bottling facility while Kemco, which will manufacture raw materials for bottles, will invest Rs 200 crore. These developments are expected to generate both direct and indirect employment, thereby strengthening the local economy. According to UPSIDA regional manager Santosh Kumar, the construction work for all three plants will begin shortly. Once functional, the Prayagraj plant is expected to consume only about 20% of its production capacity locally. The surplus water will be distributed to major railway stations in Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur, with the plant also capable of meeting special demand surges as required.
