The Chicago Sky lost their second straight game on Tuesday, dropping them to a 2-6 record during the 2025 WNBA season.

Although the Sky carried a two-game winning streak into the Commissioner's Cup, they have been set back by a 27-point loss to the Indiana Fever and a 19-point defeat at the hands of the 9-0 New York Liberty.
Angel Reese scored a season-high 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season in Tuesday's loss to the Liberty. She also shot a season-best 8-for-13 from the field and added three assists.
Chicago did lose 15-year veteran point guard Courtney Vandersloot for the season due to an injury she suffered against Indiana, so backup guard Rachel Banham played a season-high 27 minutes against the Liberty.

As the Sky adjust to life without Vandersloot, who was averaging 12.0 points and 6.2 assists per game through six contests, they have struggled offensively. In the two games since her injury, the Sky have averaged just 59 points per contest.

Before Friday's matchup against the 6-3 Atlanta Dream, head coach Tyler Marsh addressed the media about the team's offensive struggles. He honed in on two problems in particular that have plagued Chicago during its losing streak.
"I think there's two areas offensively where accountability can be had," Marsh said. "I think that's with turnovers and that's with our movement."
Reese has seen a slight dip in production from her 13.6-point, 13.1-rebound per game averages in 2024. She is contributing 10.1 points and 12.1 rebounds per contest this season for the Sky.
Ariel Atkins has been the team's leading scorer at 13.4 points per game, and she is also chipping in 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest. Kamilla Cardoso is pitching in 10.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per night during her sophomore campaign as well.

Friday night's matchup between the Sky and Dream will tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET at Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia.

Her field goal percentage has dropped, she is averaging 10.3 points a game compared to last season's 13.6, and her average turnover per game is up 3.8 compared to her rookie average of 3.5. "She's had some great games, and she's had some games like everybody else that haven't been her best," Pagliocca told the Chicago Sun-TImes this week. "But she's our best chance at versatility on this roster. We need more production out of her, but we need her to help us in other ways, too. A new head coach and revamped roster have put the Sky's growing pains on full display. "It's a long season and there's a lot of games left, but this is unexpected, and I've been very disappointed," Pagliocca added. "We had pretty big, significant expectations for this season. That's why I made the moves I made." The Sky sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with a 2-7 record.
