Synopsis "We must expand efforts to detain and deport Illegal Aliens in America's largest Cities, such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where Millions upon Millions of Illegal Aliens reside," Trump said on his Truth Social platform. NEW YORK: US President Donald Trump on Sunday directed federal authorities to ramp up deportation efforts in Democrat-led cities, doubling down on a politicised anti-immigration drive after major protests in Los Angeles.
ADVERTISEMENT "We must expand efforts to detain and deport Illegal Aliens in America's largest Cities, such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where Millions upon Millions of Illegal Aliens reside," Trump said on his Truth Social platform.
"These, and other such Cities, are the core of the Democrat Power Center," he claimed, citing debunked right-wing conspiracy theories that undocumented immigrants are voting in US elections in significant numbers.
Trump has made deporting undocumented immigrants a key priority for his second term, after successfully campaigning against an alleged "invasion" by criminals.Raids by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency in Los Angeles have sparked days of mainly peaceful protests, though they have seen sporadic violence at times.Trump has pounced on the violent incidents to deploy 4,000 National Guards and 700 Marines to the Democrat-led city, against the wishes of local and state authorities.
ADVERTISEMENT California has sued to regain control of the National Guardsmen from Trump, arguing he overstepped his authority. That suit is working its way through federal court.

Everyone should evacuate Tehran: Trump
Washington: US President Donald Trump urged the people of Iran to evacuate Tehran as the hostilities between Israel and Iran on Tuesday entered its fifth consecutive day. 'Iran should have signed the deal' I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!', Trump posted on Truth Social on Tuesday. The US President also announced that he would cut short his visit to the Group of 7 (G7) summit in Canada to closely monitor the situation amid the escalating tension in the Middle East. 'I have to be back as soon as I can. I have to be back early for obvious reasons,' Trump told reporters at the summit convening in the Canadian Rockies. According to the White House, he would return to the US 'because of what's going on in the Middle East.' 'America First means many great things, including the fact that Iran can not have a nuclear weapon. Make America great again!!!' he said in another post on his social media platform. Meanwhile, Israel issued an evacuation warning on Monday to a municipal district in Tehran, calling its residents to urgently leave ahead of Israeli airstrikes. In a post on X, Avichay Adraee, a spokesman for the Israeli military, called residents of District C, located in the northeastern part of the city, to evacuate. 'In the coming hours, the Israeli army will operate in this area, as it has over recent days in other parts of Tehran, to strike military infrastructure belonging to the Iranian regime,' Adraee said. 'Your presence in this area endangers your life. For your safety and security, we urge you to immediately evacuate." he said. Several important state institutions, government offices, and semi-governmental organisations, as well as communication and intelligence facilities are located in District C, Xinhua news agency reported. The Israeli military said in a statement that since the morning hours, Israeli warplanes have struck trucks containing weapons and surface-to-air missile launchers, advancing from western Iran toward Tehran.

At G7, Trump says Iran not winning this war, calls Russia's removal from group a mistake
File photo: US President Donald Trump (Photo: PTI) KANANASKIS(ALBERTA): G7 leaders met on Monday seeking a common approach on wars in Ukraine and West Asia but before their summit formally began, US President Trump said removing Russia from the former G8 over a decade ago had been a mistake. Leaders from Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the US, along with the European Union, are convening in the resort area of Kananaskis in the Canadian Rockies until Tuesday. With an escalating Israel-Iran conflict, the summit is seen as a vital moment to try to restore a semblance of unity among democratic powerhouses. In an early sign they may struggle to reach agreement on key issues, a US official said Trump would not sign a draft statement calling for de-escalation of the Israel-Iran conflict. Asked about reports that Iran wants to work toward a resolution, Trump responded "yeah", and added, "they'd like to talk, but they should have done that before." "...I would say that Iran is not winning this war," Trump said at the start of a meeting with Canadian PM Mark Carney. Trump then asserted that it was a "very big mistake" to remove Russia in 2014 after it annexed Crimea, a move that precipitated Russia's wider invasion of Ukraine in 2022. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trading CFD dengan Teknologi dan Kecepatan Lebih Baik IC Markets Mendaftar Undo "I think you wouldn't have a war right now if you had Russia in, and you wouldn't have a war right now if Trump were president four years ago," he said. Asked by a reporter if China should also be added, Trump said: "It's not a bad idea. I don't mind that if somebody wants to see just China coming in." Trump said it's important for world leaders to be able to speak with one another at summits. He said, "(President) Putin doesn't speak to anybody. He doesn't want to talk because he was very insulted when he got thrown out of G8....".

Lawmakers' shooter surrenders; his hit list had 70 names
Representative image (AP) MINNEAPOLIS: The man accused of killing a Minnesota lawmaker and wounding another went to the homes of two other legislators on the night of the shootings, a federal prosecutor said Monday. But one of the other lawmakers was on vacation and the suspect left the other house after police arrived early Saturday, acting attorney Joseph Thompson said. The suspect, Vance Boelter, meticulously planned out the attacks, carrying out surveillance missions and disguising himself as a police officer on the night of the attacks. A list of about 70 names was found from the fake police vehicle that was left at the crime scene, said officials. The list included state and federal lawmakers and community leaders, along with abortion rights advocates. Boelter surrendered to police Sunday after they found him in the woods near his home following a massive manhunt over nearly two days. He is accused of fatally shooting former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband in their home. He also shot senator John Hoffman, a Democrat, and his wife.
