'We going to shock y'all a**es this year': Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin is over-the-top excited for the newly assembled Cowboys squad
(Image via Getty: Michael Irvin)
Six months back, the Dallas Cowboys legend was so sore. So sore about his hopes from the fraternity of the Cowboys. He went on to say, 'They're snatching America's team off our backs.
We're losing a generation, man. A whole generation.
A third Cowboys generation right now will never know
. How are they going to tell their kids about it?' What was he yawping about?
The three-time
Super Bowl
Champion for the Dallas Cowboys,
Michael Irvin
, was not happy about the Cowboys choosing Brian Schottenheimer as their head coach over Deion Sanders. He said in 30 years, there's been no Super Bowl win for the Cowboys! And he was worried sick about the Cowboys' future? But now?

'Competition under pressure,' says
Sportscaster Michael Irvin
about the new Dallas Cowboys team
Michael Irvin expressed his excitement through his self-named YouTube show, 'We have a new head coach.
We have new things going on. I wanted to see how things are being implemented.
Full speed in practice. I said competition under pressure. I'm telling you - I like what I saw. I like how he(Brian Schottenheimer) is handling it. I like how the coach goes about it. We had a great practice. We started off - it was crisp. Everybody was hyped. They were making all kinds of plays. We went on the field.'
Michael Irvin Reacts to Dallas Cowboys Brian Schottenheimer
'Really excited about this season,' says NFL Analyst Michael Irvin about the fresh squad of Dallas Cowboys
'We are working on the right stuff.
I'm telling you - I walked out of there really excited about this season. And I'm going to tell you, a lot of people going to be sleeping. Going to be sleeping like I don't know what. You going to sleep, and then we going to creep,' Irvin vouched and declared.

'Fear and anxiety? That sh*t ain't gonna work,' says 3-time Super Bowl Champion Michael Irvin about the nascent Dallas Cowboys crew
The NFL legend mentions the hype around Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles. Irvin shared, 'Everybody talking about Washington. Everybody telling about Philadelphia.
And the Cowboys got the hardest edge we've ever seen - oh my god, oh my god, oh my god - No. No. No. What you all are trying to do when you're saying all of that - is create this fear and anxiety.
But what I saw today was what I needed to see. So I can tell you - that sh*t ain't gonna work because I saw a man(Brian Schottenheimer) that's trying to grab all of this opportunity that he has. And he's changing that culture.
And he's done one thing that I hold true - you must make people comfortable.
Two things: competing like a mother, brother, and then pressure. And why I didn't put talent in here for you guys is - to understand that talent's going to vary. And talent matters when we're the freshest.'
'We gonna shock some of you jokers,' says 5-time Pro Bowler Michael Irvin
Concluding on a confident note, the Cowboys legend said, 'You know, I was worried - going into this year after coming out of last year, saying we need to do things to bring hope back to the Cowboys, back to the fanbase.
I'm telling you - it's hope.
It is here. And we gonna shock some of you jokers. I'm telling you - If they continue like this and hold on to what I saw today, I can real damn tell you: we will shock the world because they got the talent.
I always told you they have the skill and the intensity now, and the players together now, creating every situation as a competition under pressure. Competition under pressure. That's how we create the collective. We going to shock y'all a**es this year!'

Tom Brady reveals why he'll never criticize Patrick Mahomes during his FOX Sports commentary career
Tom Brady explains why Patrick Mahomes will always be safe from his on-air criticism (Getty Images) As Tom Brady heads into his second year in the broadcast booth for FOX Sports, he's making one thing abundantly clear—he's not there to tear players down, especially not elite talents like Patrick Mahomes. After spending an entire season behind the mic, the seven-time Super Bowl champion is finding his voice not through critique, but through admiration, education, and context. Tom Brady on why he's keeping Mahomes off-limits for critique In a recent conversation with Complex Sports, Tom Brady opened up about his approach to broadcasting and his decision to steer clear of negativity—especially when it comes to quarterbacks. 'How can I throw shade at someone who's as amazing as [Mahomes] is?' he said. 'I know what he's been through.' That understanding comes from 23 seasons of NFL experience, where Brady lived the pressure, precision, and scrutiny that today's quarterbacks endure every Sunday. Brady isn't just offering blind praise. He's committed to giving viewers an honest and educated look at the game, but without resorting to harsh judgment. 'I do feel responsibility to tell the fans what I see and be honest and upfront about everything, but also realize that what these guys are doing on the field is extremely difficult,' he said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like New Container Houses Vietnam (Prices May Surprise You) Container House | Search ads Search Now Undo Tom Brady says he won't bash Patrick Mahomes on air (Getty Images) Having called just one Chiefs game in 2024—a high-stakes Week 7 clash against the 49ers—Brady admits he still has work to do. His first year on the job wasn't without bumps. Critics came after his commentary, and even fans at the Indy 500 booed the G.O.A.T., with Colts faithful still harboring old rivalries. But Brady isn't backing down. Instead, he's refining his craft, staying true to what he believes great broadcasting should be. 'To me, it's more about, let's point out the greatness of these individual players,' Brady explained. 'Have fun. Enjoy it. Entertain a little bit. And really try to educate people a little bit.' It's a refreshing approach in a media world often driven by hot takes and clickbait controversy. Brady's insight offers something uniquely valuable—context. He knows that even the best quarterbacks, including himself, didn't always make the right play. 'Do they make the right plays all the time? Certainly not. By the way, neither did I,' he acknowledged, reinforcing the importance of perspective over perfection. With his $375 million, 10-year deal with FOX still in its early days, Brady is focused on growth. He'll get another marquee moment early in 2025, calling a Super Bowl rematch between the Chiefs and Eagles in Week 2 alongside Kevin Burkhardt. With Mahomes on the field and Brady in the booth, fans will be treated to a collision of greatness—from two different angles. Brady's approach may not satisfy critics hungry for drama, but for those who value insight, humility, and genuine love for the game, he's already proving to be a different kind of broadcaster. 'Worst-case': Aaron Rodgers signing sparks fears of a risky gamble disguised as a Super Bowl push
Aaron Rodgers' move to the Pittsburgh Steelers sparks mixed reactions (Getty Images) After months of speculation, four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers has officially signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers — and reactions across the league range from cautious optimism to outright concern. While Steelers fans are eager for a return to postseason prominence, some former players and analysts believe the move could be a high-risk gamble with mixed rewards. Ryan Clark blasts the signing as 'worst-case scenario' for the Steelers' future Former Steelers safety and ESPN analyst Ryan Clark didn't hold back, describing the Rodgers move as potentially setting the franchise back long-term, 'Aaron Rodgers signing with the Steelers is the worst-case scenario. I think he'll play good enough, & the team will be just good enough to miss out on a franchise guy next year!' — Realrclark25 (@Realrclark25) Clark's warning touches on a common concern — Rodgers might raise Pittsburgh's floor just enough to keep them competitive without lifting them into true Super Bowl contention, ultimately costing them a shot at drafting a long-term quarterback. Dez Bryant sees potential but throws shade at Aaron Rodgers' recent struggles Retired wideout Dez Bryant offered a nuanced take, defending Rodgers from critics who blamed him for underwhelming performances in New York, 'I think Aaron Rodgers will have success because he's going to be able to implement the things he's comfortable with and control the offense the way he wants.' Bryant emphasized that Rodgers never had the trust or system fit with the Jets that he's likely to get in Pittsburgh — especially under Mike Tomlin, with whom Rodgers shares a mutual respect. Steelers go all-in with DK Metcalf, Watt, and Heyward on aging timeline Robert Griffin III added context to the front office's urgency, noting that veterans like T.J. Watt and Cameron Heyward are entering what could be their final window to chase a championship in Pittsburgh, 'For Cameron Heyward (36) and TJ Watt (30) this is likely their last chance to win it all in a Steelers uniform.' With DK Metcalf arriving via trade and tight end Pat Freiermuth ready to be a primary target, Pittsburgh is clearly pushing its chips in for 2025. NFL Network's Stacey Dales believes Rodgers 'has a lot to prove,' while former Packers QB Kurt Benkert suggests Pittsburgh's defense might be one of the best Rodgers has ever played alongside. If the run game can deliver and Rodgers remains healthy, the Steelers could be a dark horse Super Bowl contender — or an overhyped flameout. One thing's certain: the Rodgers era in Pittsburgh is here, and the pressure has never been higher. Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, Texas Tech hoops and football coaches cheering Red Raiders at WCWS
OKLAHOMA CITY — Texas Tech and two of its biggest supporters returned to Devon Park for Game 3 of the Women's College World Series on Friday night, this time with a national championship in mind. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and former Texas Tech signal caller Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, were back to cheer on the Red Raiders, who forced a final game when they beat Texas 4-3 in Game 2 behind another complete game from ace NiJaree Canady. Also in attendance were Red Raiders football coach Joey McGuire and men's basketball coach Grant McCasland. Both Texas and Texas Tech are seeking their first national title. It is Texas Tech's first appearance in the World Series. 'Come on!!! Let's go!' Mahomes posted on social media during Thursday's game, which started 50 minutes late because of storms. Mahomes and his wife were animated and seemingly in full 'sports fan' mode throughout the game. He appeared to be as involved in the game as he was in all his Super Bowl appearances, standing, clapping, yelling and encouraging the Red Raiders, hanging on every pitch. Prior to Game 1 on Wednesday, Mahomes gifted each Texas Tech player with a letterman-style jacket and a pair of shoes in Texas Tech Colors. 'First off, I love Texas Tech and everything Texas Tech's about,' Mahomes told ESPN on Thursday from an extension of the press box at Devon Park. 'To have Nija here along with the other girls has been fun to watch. I've always loved softball and watching it. I'm happy it's been back in the Olympics and happy to have them here in Oklahoma City.' sports: /sports
