Kraken F Jordan Eberle to return after 40-game absence
February 22 - After missing 40 games with an unprecedented injury, Seattle captain Jordan Eberle has been activated from injured reserve and is expected to play when the Kraken face the Florida Panthers on Saturday in Sunrise, Fla.
Eberle suffered a pelvic injury in a Nov. 14 game against the Chicago Blackhawks, an injury that no other player in the league had ever experienced, per NHL.com.
Eberle's doctor reportedly consulted with New Zealand rugby players who'd experienced the same injury to help them decide on the surgery. That was followed by an arduous, 14-week rehab program that initially required Eberle to be confined to a hospital bed.
The latest phase of his rehab had Eberle spending the 4 Nations Face-Off break practicing with the AHL's Coachella Valley Firebirds in an attempt to get up to the speed and level of physicality of the NHL game.
"I think I'm at the point now where I'm battling in practice and moving the way I want to," Eberle said, according to NHL.com. "Now it just comes down to getting into game action. That's the only way you can test (your body). I've done everything else up to that point.
"Obviously, I've had over three months off. I feel like I'm in game shape right now, but (it's about) the timing and getting that aggressiveness back. I think it helps that I'm coming back with the guys after the break, where everyone's been off for a while as well. I'm hoping that I can get back and just get right back into it."
Kraken coach Dan Bylsma called Eberle's recovery "utterly and painfully slow" but also "unprecedented" and had expressed optimism in late January that he was making great progress.
"And as we've gotten closer (to Eberle's return), it's him on the ice, off the ice, desperately wanting to get back and get with the group, with his work ethic," Bylsma said. "It's just an indicator of what we've missed. ... Just seeing him back with the group, seeing his work ethic, seeing his determination to get back is a clear indicator of what we've missed."
Kraken general manager Ron Francis expressed cautious optimism about Eberle's return.
"Anytime you come back from injury it's usually kind of a little burst and then a lull and then you get back to it," Francis said. "I'm just excited he's back and we'll see how things go."
Eberle, 34, has recorded 11 points (six goals, five assists) through 17 games this season, his fourth with the Kraken. He signed a two-year, $9.5 million extension with the Kraken last March.
He has 713 points (305 goals, 408 assists) in 1,035 games with the Edmonton Oilers (2010-17), Islanders (2017-21) and Kraken. The Oilers drafted him in the first round (22nd overall) in 2008.

We told you last month the Graham had been targeted by Falkirk following their promotion to the Premiership. John McGlynn's men clinched the Championship title on a dramatic final day, as rivals Livingston lost to Partick. McGlynn has already signed up Rangers icon Scott Arfield for another year at the Falkirk Stadium. He also bolstered his squad with former Celtic backup goalkeeper Scott Bain. But Graham, who scored 100 goals for Thistle, will now be a key man as they look to keep their place in the top flight beyond just this season. McGlynn said of his new signing: 'Brian Graham is someone both myself and Paul have worked with before having signed him for Raith Rovers from Morton back in 2011. 'I've got to say he's had an amazing career and it's a credit to him and the way he's look after himself that he's still one of the hardest working strikers going about. 'His stats are very impressive scoring fifteen Championship goals and twenty-one goals in all competitions, he has the natural instincts of a top striker, he's in the right place at the right time, he knows the position inside out, with the number of crosses we put in the box I'm sure there's plenty more goals to come 'Brian is a winner, he is very determined individual and his experience at this level will be important to the team, I've said we needed Premiership experience and physicality, and Brian brings both of those in abundance, we're all looking forward to working with him.' Celtic transfer special - Nygren in and Kyogo to return Graham added: 'The opportunity to work with John McGlynn again was one I couldn't say no to. You can see how well the players and staff have done here over the last two years, back-to-back promotions, and it's a chance for myself to get back and play in the Premiership as well. 'This is a great stadium, and you can tell with the number of season tickets that have been sold already that the place is going to be rocking on matchdays, and that's something I'm relishing. 'It's up to me now to work hard, get the head down, and get myself in the team. 'With the wide players here, I know for a fact I'm going to get chances to score goals and I'm really looking forward to getting started.' Mariners RHP Bryce Miller (elbow) heading back to IL
June 10 - Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller is heading back to the 15-day injured list with elbow inflammation. Manager Dan Wilson confirmed the news after Monday's 8-4 loss in 11 innings to the Arizona Diamondbacks. "It's the same issue as he had the last time. The cortisone shot wasn't as helpful as we had hoped," Wilson said, per the Seattle Times. Miller, 26, came off the injured list on May 31 and made two starts. He allowed five runs on six hits in five innings in his most recent effort, a 5-4 loss to the Los Angeles Angels last Friday. Miller is 2-5 with a 5.73 ERA through 10 starts in his third season with Seattle. He is 22-20 with a 3.82 ERA in 66 career appearances (all starts). The Mariners recalled right-hander Logan Evans, 24, from Triple-A Tacoma to start Tuesday's game against Arizona, with right-hander Bryan Woo's start pushed back to Wednesday. --Field Level Media

Report: Seahawks extend P Michael Dickson through '29
June 10 - All-Pro punter Michael Dickson has agreed to a four-year, $16.2 million extension with the Seattle Seahawks, NFL Network reported on Tuesday. Dickson, 29, who was entering the final season of a four-year, $14.5 million extension signed in 2021, once again becomes the NFL's highest-paid punter. The new deal runs through 2029 for the Australia-born Dickson, who has played in all 116 regular-season games for Seattle since making his NFL debut with Pro Bowl and All-Pro first-team nods in 2018. Dickson averaged 49.4 yards per punt in 2024 to finish in the league's top seven for the fifth time in seven seasons. His career average of 48.2 yards ranks third all-time, and he has had only one of 504 career punts blocked. --Field Level Media
