Collector orders expediting housing projects
Puttaparthi: Collector T.S. Chetan has directed housing officials to expedite the ongoing housing projects in the district.
Addressing a review meeting at the Mini Conference Hall in the collectorate on Tuesday, the collector emphasized the government's prestigious plan to conduct a mass 'Gruhapravesam' in June and hand over 3 lakh houses to beneficiaries across the state. He stated that 10,368 houses must be completed in the district by June 12, but 7,020 of them are still pending.
The collector instructed those reviews on housing progress be held at the division level under the supervision of RDOs and also at the mandal level by local officials. Noting that the summer season is favorable for construction, he urged engineers and field staff to meet their targets.
He reiterated that housing construction is a vital component of the government's 'Swarnandhra Vision 2047,' which aims to ensure housing for all by 2029. Additional Financial Assistance for SC/ST/BC Beneficiaries:
The collector outlined special financial assistance announced by the state government under the AP Housing Scheme. SCs: Rs. 50,000, BCs: Rs. 50,000, STs: Rs. 75,000, PVTGs: Rs. 1,00,000. This aid is being implemented through a dedicated G.O. He mentioned that 466 beneficiaries have availed housing loans so far, and highlighted that eight mandals — including Kadiri Urban, Dharmavaram Urban, Lepakshi, Ramagiri, Somandepalli, Hindupur, and Kothacheruvu — are lagging in progress. He urged housing officials to conduct awareness programs and ensure better progress at the field level. The meeting also included a review of housing projects from 2019 to 2024, with discussions on various layouts, construction stages such as foundation, walls, and roofing under Option III.
Housing PD Venkata Narayana, Deputy Executive Engineers T. Shankar Lal Naik, G. Srinivas, B. Shiva Kumar Naik, K. Venkataramana Reddy, and other officials participated in the session.

DVAP boosts grassroots governance: Ministers
Rajamahendravaram: In a visionary move aimed at strengthening grassroots governance, each Assembly constituency will soon be equipped with dedicated offices supported by adequate human resources, announced District In-Charge and Minister for Water Resources Dr Nimmala Ramanaidu and Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Cinematography Kandula Durgesh. Ministers Ramanaidu and Durgesh said that action plans are being developed and implemented across the seven Assembly constituencies in the district to align with the Swarnandhra Vision 2047. They stated that the goal is to reflect the aspirations of the people through targeted development. Speaking during the video conference, Minister Durgesh informed the Chief Minister that priority issues are being identified to drive district-level execution effectively. He expressed gratitude to the CM for stressing the need for constituency and mandal-level development plans. He assured that detailed strategies would be drawn up after analysing the district's challenges and opportunities on the ground. Minister Durgesh also mentioned that the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub, which will support youth with economic and technological opportunities, is ready for launch. He further noted that 300 acres of land have been earmarked in Rajanagaram for the establishment of an Industrial Park.

Expedite land acquisition for railway projects: Collector
Kurnool: District Collector P Ranjith Basha has directed the officials concerned to expedite the land acquisition process for ongoing railway infrastructure projects in the district. He emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to ensure the timely completion of railway underpasses, overpasses, and other development works. He held a review meeting on Saturday at the Mini Conference Hall in the District Collectorate to assess the progress of various railway projects. The session focused on the construction of Railway Under Bridges (RUBs), Road Over Bridges (ROBs), and double-track railway lines across different revenue divisions in the district. The Collector reviewed the land acquisition status from Sub-Collectors and RDOs for projects being implemented in the three revenue divisions. He instructed the revenue officials to prioritise and fast-track land acquisition processes, ensuring there are no delays in the construction of the railway infrastructure. He further directed all departments involved — including RDOs, officials from the Collector's office, and railway authorities — to work in close coordination. He emphasized the urgent need to resolve issues related to land acquisition, No Objection Certificates (NOCs), and Letters of Acceptance without delay. Adoni Sub-Collector Maurya Bharadwaj informed the Collector that land acquisition for three Road Over Bridges (ROBs) in Adoni division is progressing well. Kurnool RDO Sandeep Kumar provided details about the progress of land acquisition in 12 villages for the double-track railway line and underpass bridges in the Kurnool division. Pattikonda RDO Bharat Naik reported that land acquisition for one of the double-track projects in his division has been completed, while the other project is currently at the award stage. The review meeting was attended by District Revenue Officer (DRO) Venkatanarayana, Roads and Buildings SE Maheshwar Reddy, Executive Engineer Suresh Babu, Adoni Executive Engineer Venkateswarlu, Railway Assistant Divisional Engineer Durgarao, Adoni Municipal Commissioner Krishna, and other officials. The Collector reiterated that swift action and efficient interdepartmental coordination are essential for the successful execution of key railway infrastructure projects in the district.

Need for smooth delivery of commodities from ration shops stressed
Puttaparthi: With the state government set to begin distribution of essential commodities through ration shops from June 1, Anantapur District Collector T.S. Chetan has directed officials to ensure a smooth supply through the district's 1,367 Fair Price (FP) shops. He issued the instructions during a meeting at the Collectorate, attended by Joint Collector Abhishek Kumar and Civil Supplies officials. The Collector emphasized strict adherence to government norms and warned that legal action would be taken against dealers violating regulations. He called for enhanced public awareness and feedback mechanisms for the Public Distribution System (PDS), especially regarding Deepam-2 and ration distribution. FP shop dealers were advised to hold meetings with gas agencies and delivery staff to spread accurate information. He announced that essential commodities will be distributed only through ration shops starting June and that all ration card holders must be informed. FP shops must operate from the 1st to 15th of each month between 8 AM–12 PM and 4 PM–8 PM. Shops should display photographs of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister, working hours, shop number, price details, and stock availability. Joint Collector Abhishek Kumar instructed arrangements for doorstep delivery to senior citizens (65+) and the disabled. He stressed cleanliness, maintenance of photo logs, daily distribution records, proper use of ePOS machines, and issuing receipts to all cardholders. He noted that FP dealers may see increased income under upcoming government initiatives. Officials were directed to conduct awareness meetings with dealers at CS & DT offices to ensure strict implementation. District Supply Officer Vamsikrishna Reddy and other officials were present at the meeting.
