Tyson Fury fires off message to Carlos Tevez after wild Soccer Aid performance
The former Argentina international shocked Fury after scoring four goals to help guide the World XI to victory on Sunday evening at Old Trafford Tyson Fury was left lost for words after being blown away by former Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez 's performance at Soccer Aid. The highly anticipated charity match took place at the sold-out Old Trafford in Manchester - with the clash ending 5-4 to World XI FC. Team England got off to the perfect start as Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney scored the fastest ever goal in Soccer Aid history in the fourth minute. On the stroke of half-time, Toni Duggan made it 2-0 to England with a brilliant finish to beat Edwin van der Sar. England threatened to run away with the game after Jermaine Defoe scored just after the break to make it 3-0. However, the game turned on its head when Tevez was brought on, scoring two goals just minutes apart for World XI. Defoe would go on to score his second of the game before Tevez bagged another two to level the contest at 4-4. Heading into the final minutes, Big Zuu stunned fans by scoring a late winner for the World XI. Fury was heavily involved in last night's match after co-managing the England team alongside Rooney. An avid United fan, the former two-time heavyweight champion was left gobsmacked by Tevez's display at Old Trafford. Fury quickly praised the Argentine this morning - despite the latter making a name for himself in the blue half of Manchester during the peak fo his powers. On Monday morning, Fury shared his reaction to the match - which raised millions for charity. In a story uploaded to Instagram, he said: "Morning run in the bay. After a long and busy day yesterday, managing England. We did not get the result we wanted, but everybody played well and played hard and we raised a lot of money for a great cause. "So, I am very proud of everybody who took part. And well done to every body... especially Carlos Tevez! Wow. Banging in hat-tricks and stuff. He has still got it. Had a fantastic day. Big shout out to all the organisers at UNICEF and Soccer Aid, but here we are today, back in the bay, back in good old Lancashire... keeping it real!" However, not everyone was full of praise for Tevez. YouTuber and Manchester United supporter Angry Ginge hit out at the City icon after being on the receiving end of a nasty injury on Sunday evening. In the second half, Ginge - real name Morgan Burtwistle - and Tevez battled for possession on the edge of the England box. The two players went to ground, but replays showed that the former Argentina international was unhappy with the challenge from Angry Ginge and appeared to have a slight kick out at the defender before eventually shaking hands with the 23-year-old. After the game, though, Ginge was seemingly not too pleased with the challenge by Tevez. Sharing a picture of his leg badly cut in the dressing room, the YouTuber and streamer wrote: "Cheers Tevez, t***." Despite the injury and his team losing, Burtwistle received a lot of praise for his efforts on the pitch and was eventually named player-of-the-match by comedian and Manchester City supporter Jason Manford on commentary. During the match, Fury made the headlines after his colourful language forced ITV presenters to issue multiple apologies to viewers on Sunday. The former world heavyweight champion delivered an expletive-filled speech whilst co-managing the England team. Fury exclaimed: "We are England! We are f****** Spartans!" Immediately after Fury's comments, both Alex Scott and fellow presenter Dermot O'Leary were forced to apologise on air for any offence caused by the swearing. The former Lionesses full-back said: "We do apologise for the swearing. It's Tyson, we don't know what's going to happen." The 'Gypsy King' then swore again in the middle of the first half, prompting another apology from ITV, with Scott promising to "have a word with him afterwards".

Eight years on from his debut and Angel Gomes will never forget his Manchester United capped by England and set for a move to Marseille, he remains a player firmly on the leaving Old Trafford for Lille five years ago, Gomes says he still owes a lot to his football education in Manchester."From the moment you step into the place, the coaches are telling you about the history of the club," explains Gomes."The Busby Babes, they show you pictures of George Best and Bobby Charlton. The culture is set early."You know everything about the club and what it represents. It's just something that you carry."After limited first team chances, Gomes left for France in 2020 and has gone on to establish himself as a top whilst he is aware of the significance of playing for Manchester United, he feels several factors can impact a players success at Old Trafford."Players may have been intimidated or not really know about the weight [of the shirt], what it carries and what it takes."But ultimately, sometimes, it's down to environment, timing and having the right things in place to help you."Sometimes it's not as black and white as they failed or they've not held their own there because of the weight of the shirt."Read more from the interview here

Man Utd star working behind the scenes to secure Bryan Mbeumo transfer
Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo is set to be a wanted man this summer after a terrific season that saw him score 20 goals in the Premier League and Manchester United are said to be leading the chase Manchester United star Andre Onana is reportedly trying to convince Cameroon team-mate Bryan Mbeumo to join Ruben Amorim's side amid competition from Tottenham. Mbeumo is in high demand this summer after his best ever season for Brentford. He was the club's star man as he scored 20 goals in the Premier League and now could be set for a big move. United have emerged as the favourites for his signature but after his manager Thomas Frank joined Tottenham, he is said to be 'intrigued' by a switch to north London. It's understood Mbeumo is still "leaning towards" a move to Old Trafford as Amorim bids to overhaul his struggling squad that finished 15th last season, with Matheus Cunha already joining the club. And according to the Manchester Evening News, Onana is doing his best to persuade Mbeumo to pick United over Tottenham, with the pair sharing a close relationship from their time in the Cameroon team. Mbeumo and Onana have been international team-mates since the former began playing for the side in 2022. Mbeumo has gone on to pick up 22 caps, while Onana has 48. United have already had a bid of around £60million rejected by Brentford for Mbeumo, while Mirror Football understands Tottenham have bid around £70m and are determined to reunite the player with Frank. Brentford could be tempted to cash in on Mbeumo while they can given he is out of contract next season - though there is an option to extend his deal until 2027. The player himself spoke for the first time since rumours began over his future but did not wade into the speculation, instead opting to discuss Frank and their time together at Brentford. "He (Frank)'s done so much for me. He literally trusted me from the start," he told Sky Sports. "I think he developed the team so well. He developed me as a human and a player as well. "So I can only wish him all the best, and I'm sure he's going to do well. I can only wish him all the best and I'm sure he's going to do well." He added: "He knows everything; he's really smart and knows what he wants to bring the team, how he wants them to play. He's been fantastic for Brentford." When asked about the increasing amount of stories about his future, Mbeumo added: ""It is a bit new for me, I would say! I think it can be the life of a footballer and you need to accept it."
