Sauce Walka shooting suspect found dead in Houston: Memphis PD

HOUSTON - One of the men suspected of shooting Houston rapper Sauce Walka and killing one other in Downtown Memphis has been found dead in Houston, says Memphis Police Department.
The shooting took place on March 22.

According to the Memphis Police Department, 21-year-old Jayden Dandridge was wanted for the death of Letorian Hunt, 27, and shooting of 34-year-old rapper Sauce Walka, whose real name is Albert Mondane.
Hunt was also known as the rapper Sayso P, one of Sauce Walka's artists, according to TMZ.
Dandridge was found dead in Houston, Memphis PD reported on Monday.
He was charged with one count of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, and two counts of employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony and auto theft.

According to Memphis PD, the shooting occurred around 2:42 p.m. at the Westin Hotel near Lt. George W. Lee Avenue in the downtown area.
Memphis police say Hunt was pronounced dead at the scene. Mondane was taken to Regional One hospital in non-critical condition.

TMZ reported that family members identified the surviving man as rapper Sauce Walka, or Albert Walker Mondane. They also reported he was shot in the leg but is expected to recover.
According to TMZ, multiple people pulled up in a white, four-door vehicle and opened fire – wounding Sauce Walka and the other man, who were outside, before leaving the scene.

Last week, Dandridge was found dead in Houston. His death was ruled a homicide. 'I was pretty much numb. I didn't cry or grieve for him. He killed my son, and I still want answers,' Redwing said. 'I can't get to the bottom of it if they are all dead.' Redwing said her son wanted to leave Memphis because of the violence. She said he had opened a recording studio in Miami and recently signed a distribution deal with Sauce Walka's record label. 'Watching his growth from a young boy to the man he had become was amazing.' Redwing said Memphis police are currently outmanned and outgunned. She hopes the FBI will step in, as promised, to help, but believes people in the community also need to get involved to stop the crime. The rapper's mom said she would like to start a foundation to help other mothers dealing with the same kind of grief. She also wants to provide resources to young people who are falling through the cracks and committing these acts of violence. 'I've heard, why do you care about them. Screw them. Those people killed your kid,' said Redwing. 'I can't say that with a straight face and be me. They need to be held accountable, but I do know a lot of these kids want a way out.' (FOX 2) - Warren police have responded to over 9,000 calls related to domestic violence in the past two years. "We've learned that a clear majority of cases in our city have had a domestic violence nexus - including many of our homicides," said Warren PD Commissioner Eric Hawkins. Dig deeper Domestic violence is a crime that's often underreported and often a generational, vicious cycle."Children who grow up in an abusive home often learn to accept those patterns of behavior," said Dr. Sharman Davenport, Turning Pointe Macomb. "They either use anger and abuse as a way of coping and controlling their world, or in other cases, they may become the victim, because that's what they've seen." "How can we break the cycle? That's where we came up with this name," Hawkins said. It is called Operation Cycle Break — uniting police, prosecutors, judges, researchers at Wayne State University and counselors at Turning Point to tackle domestic violence. The help provides everything from ensuring survivors have immediate support, to making mandatory counseling a bail condition. "We've never seen anything like this, I've never seen anything like this," said Chief Judge John Chmura, 37th District Court. "And I don't know of any court that's done anything like this in my 29 years in the bench," In the past when police would follow up on reports of domestic violence, it would just be through a phone call. Now with Operation Cycle Break, they are meeting in person. "It's going to change the way they approach domestic violence cases and it will really help survivors feel important," said Dr. Davenport. "They'll feel what's going on with them is a crime and that somebody's willing to step up and do something about it." They say it has already seen positive results. Since the initiative launched around 30 days ago, the city has seen more warrant requests granted, enrolled 20 defendants into counseling — and reached 37 survivors who may have previously slipped through the cracks. "This will make a huge difference in the lives of survivors in Warren," Davenport said. "Because now they will have the opportunity to be heard and make sure their cases move forward." For 17 days, the two investors tormented him with electrical wires, forced him to smoke from a crack pipe and at one point dangled him from a staircase five stories high, prosecutors allege.
