Blue Bolt strike sees Keane waste no time in celebrating Juddmonte position
It was the first time the six-time Irish champion had donned the famous colours of the Abdullah family since his appointment was announced on Monday, as he took the reins aboard Andrew Balding's Windsor scorer Blue Bolt, who was sent off the 6-4 second-favourite for the Darley EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes.
The Irishman left little to chance with a positive ride and having asked his mount to quicken and put the race to bed passing the two-furlong pole, Blue Bolt soon put distance between his rivals.
Although seeing her advantage shortened by Roger Varian' Majaz in the closing stages, Blue Bolt was still a length and a quarter clear at the winning post to help rubber stamp Keane's position as first choice to one of the leading ownership operations in racing.
His first ride and it's a first winner for Colin Keane in the @JuddmonteFarms silks since his appointment!

Keane said: 'It's the perfect start and she is a nice filly who was a good winner the last day and seems to have stepped forward again.
'She's very uncomplicated, she just gallops on and is a nice filly. It felt very easy for her in the first half of the race and I was trying to take her back a little bit and she just got a bit lonely once she had quickened away from them. But I would say she is a filly with a nice future.
'I'm very privileged to be asked to wear these colours and they are iconic in racing. I have grown up looking at them and their farm is only up the road so I'm in a very privileged position.'
Although this was Keane's first ride on a member of the Juddmonte string in an official capacity, he has twice tasted Classic honours in their silks when winning the Irish 2,000 Guineas with both Siskin in 2020 and John and Thady Gosden's Field Of Gold only last month.
It is the latter that could prove Keane's trump card at Royal Ascot next week and speaking to Sky Sports Racing he added: 'He was very good on the day (in the Irish Guineas) and he felt like a proper horse. I don't think I've ridden one as good as him to be honest.
'Only time will tell, but I think a fast pace would help him and bring him along further (in the St James's Palace) and hopefully he's then good enough to pick them off.'
Earlier on the card George Boughey's 8-11 favourite Moonfall opened his account at the third attempt when a two-length winner of the first division of the Local IQ EBF Novice Stakes, while Charlie Appleby's heavy odds-on favourite Time To Turn was turned over in the second division by Clive Cox's 28-1 outsider A Bit Of Spirit.

Indian billionaire dies during Queen's Cup polo
An Indian billionaire has died of a suspected heart attack after falling ill during a Queen's Cup polo match in Windsor. Sunjay Kapur, patron of the Aureus polo team and an established name in the English polo scene, was the ex-husband of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor. It was initially reported by witnesses that he was heard to have said 'I've swallowed something', prompting assumptions he may have swallowed a bee. However, other people with knowledge of the situation have dismissed this theory, saying instead that he lost consciousness after bending over on his horse during a break in play. The 53-year-old's team, which is captained by Mark Tomlinson, were playing Sujan Indian Tigers in the subsidiary final of the Queen's Cup when he fell ill. Kapur had been playing at the prestigious Guards Polo Club in Windsor. A friend of Kapur's told Telegraph Sport: 'He will be greatly lost not only by his family and friends but the local community around his club as he employed so many people and made so many friends – he was fun kind and generous. He didn't distinguish between his grooms or high net worth friends – when he had a party everyone was invited and everyone was equal.' Kapur was chairman of auto components maker Sona Comstar. 'A visionary leader, Kapur played a pivotal role in shaping Sona Comstar into a global mobility technology company built on innovation, sustainability, and purpose,' Sona Comstar said in a statement. The University of Buckingham graduate took over Sona Comstar in 2015 after the death of his father, Surinder Kapur, a pioneer in the Indian auto parts industry who founded the company in 1995. According to Forbes, Kapur, who was also a US citizen, had an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion. He had children with Kapoor prior to divorce in 2016. Kapur later married Priya Sachdev, a former model and entrepreneur, with whom he had a son. Just before his death, Kapur posted a condolence message on X about Thursday's fatal crash of an Air India flight in Ahmedabad.

‘Devastated' club kicked out of Europe by Uefa in Crystal Palace-style case as statement released
'harsh and unfair' 'Devastated' club kicked out of Europe by Uefa in Crystal Palace-style case as statement released Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) IRISH club Drogheda United have been expelled from the Uefa Conference League due to multi-club ownership rules. The news of Uefa taking action will strike fear into Crystal Palace with the Premier League team facing a similar threat. Silkeborg have also qualified for the Conference League but their involvement means that Drogheda United are unable to compete due to Uefa regulations. Drogheda were expelled from next season's competition as a result, with Silkeborg having finished in a higher league position. However, club officials plan to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) imminently. READ MORE ON CRYSTAL PALACE TRUMP CARD Crystal Palace get late offer from Trump pal that could save Europa League hopes A statement read: "The club can confirm that it has been notified by UEFA that we are facing expulsion from the UEFA Conference League due to Drogheda United and Silkeborg IF having both qualified for the same competition. "This is despite significant efforts by the club to work constructively with UEFA to make necessary ownership and governance changes to allow both to compete over the past several months. "We are devastated by this potential development and believe it would be both harsh and unfair, given the way brand new rule changes this year have been, in our view, inconsistently communicated and enforced across various clubs. "We are now appealing the decision to the Court for Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Given we are now in the midst of an ongoing legal proceeding, and out of respect for that process, UEFA, the CFCB, and the overall aim of sporting integrity, there are limits to what we are able to share at this time. "We have been in active dialogue with UEFA for months and have put forward a share disposition, trust arrangements, and various other undertakings consistent with recent CFCB precedent, only to have all of those efforts rebuffed. Keep the faith." Crystal Palace face a similar situation in the Europa League. The club's largest shareholder, John Textor, is also the majority owner of Lyon, who also qualified for the competition this season. French side Lyon have been granted priority as they finished higher in the league table, with Crystal Palace having qualified by winning the FA Cup last month. Palace officials have already met with Uefa chiefs in Switzerland, arguing that Textor has no controlling influence at Selhurst Park. They are now expecting a final decision by the end of June. Amid the ongoing battle, Textor is looking to sell his shares in Crystal Palace. He reportedly received an offer from New York Jets owner Woody Johnson this week. Should Textor sell up by June 27, Palace look likely to keep their place in the Europa League.

Livingston boss David Martindale has introduced fresh faces into the squad as he prepares for life in the William Hill Premiership next season. Zak Rudden has joined the club for the 2025/26 campaign which celebrates 30 years of Livingston FC. The 25-year-old has had loan spells with Falkirk, Plymouth Argyle, Dundee, St Johnstone and Raith Rovers. He has previously been with Rangers, Dundee and Partick Thistle. Rudden has been recruited from Championship side Queen's Park and the striker is The Lions fourth signing so far. Martindale is reported to be looking to recruit ten new players to boost the squad. Irishman Graham Carey, now aged 36, joins The Lions from St Johnstone on the expiry of his contract with the Perth club. He is described as a left-sided midfield player. Connor McLennan, now 25, has signed from Ayr United on a two-year deal as his contract with the West Coast club had expired. Meanwhile, 32-year-old Stevie May, who has played for Aberdeen and English side, Preston North End, has joined the club permanently after a successful loan spell last season when Livingston were in the championship.
