Watch: US official says Trump saved 258 million lives in first 100 days; JD Vance's expression goes viral
JD Vance's expression at the Cabinet meeting is going viral.
As all cabinet members on Wednesday were heaping praises on President Donald Trump as his administration crossed the first landmark of the first 100 days, Attorney General Pam Bondi went overboard as she said Trump has saved 258 million lives, which is equivalent to 75 per cent of the
US population
. The claim stunned many social media users but they pointed out that vice president
JD Vance
, who was sitting beside her, was equally bewildered by her claim.
"President, you first 100 days has far exceeded that of ANY other presidency in this country. Ever. Ever. Never seen anything like it. Thank you," Pam Bondi said.

"34,000 kilos of fentanyl, since you've been - your last 100 days. Which saved, are you ready for this media? 258 million lives," Bondi said. Kids are dying every day because they're taking this junk, laced with something else they don't know what they're taking. They think they're buying a Tylenol or an Adderall and a Xanax and it's laced with fentanyl and they're dropping dead and no longer because of you, what you've done," Pam Bondi said. On Tuesday, she wrote on X that the fetanyl seizures had seven over 119 million lives.

Pam Bondi provided a formula to The Daily Beast for how she arrived at the figure. "3,400,000 grams of fentanyl multiplied by the 'current purity level' of .1518, divided by .002, the lethal amount per gram. The result: 258,060,000," the report said.
But JD Vance's facial expression said it all, social media users noted, as JD Vance was seen doing mental math when Pam Bondi announced the figure.
"The US population is 340.1 million people, ~33 million are under 10. So he save the lives of ~84% of those of us over 10 years old," one wrote.
One X user pointed out that Pam Bondi did not say American lives and by the volume of the fentanyl, she was correct.
"Vance realizing some MAGA math happened somewhere," one person commented. "You can see whats left of JD's logical brain fighting for its life," a second person wrote.

Denmark approves US military bases amid tensions over Greenland
Denmark's Parliament has passed a contentious bill allowing the establishment of US military bases on Danish soil, sparking criticism over national sovereignty and renewed tensions involving legislation, which expands a 2023 military access agreement with the Biden administration, passed with 94 votes in favor and 11 against. It permits a broader US military presence beyond existing airbase access, and now awaits formal approval from King Frederik argue the move undermines Danish sovereignty and paves the way for deeper American influence, particularly in light of President Donald Trump's previous attempts to purchase Greenland, a strategically important and mineral-rich Arctic territory under Denmark's realm. In response to lawmakers' concerns, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lkke Rasmussen emphasized that Denmark retains the right to terminate the agreement should theUS make moves to annex Prime Minister has previously condemned US interest in the island, asserting that Greenland is not for sale and warning against viewing it as a development comes amid broader geopolitical tensions in the Arctic and highlights the delicate balance Denmark faces as a NATO ally seeking to maintain control over its semi-autonomous territories.(With inputs from Associated Press)Must Watch

Trump says ‘deal is done', China to remove curbs on exports of critical minerals to US
US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick had earlier late Tuesday evening said that the two sides had agreed to put the 'meat on the bones' on the framework agreed to last month in Geneva to eventually reduce the reciprocal tariffs imposed by Washington DC and Beijing on one another. The deal will also allow Chinese students continued access to elite American universities, following threats from the Trump administration to curb their admissions. New Delhi: US President Donald Trump Wednesday said a 'deal' with China is done and relations between the two largest economies are 'excellent'. This deal will allow for the export of critical minerals from Beijing to Washington DC following two days of intense negotiations between their respective officials in London. The bilateral tariffs imposed on imports to the US from China crossed 100 percent on goods, following Trump's 'reciprocal tariffs' first announced on 2 April. The tit-for-tat trade war had led to both governments agreeing to a framework to reduce tariffs last month. Donald J. Trump Truth Social 06.11.25 08:04 AM EST — Commentary Donald J. Trump Posts From Truth Social (@TrumpDailyPosts) June 11, 2025 However, China continued to impose curbs on the exports of critical minerals and technologies to the US, which led to Washington imposing its own curbs on exports of certain goods such as semiconductors to Beijing. The deal struck in London will see the withdrawal of these curbs in a 'balanced way' according to Lutnick. However, the details of the deal have yet to be made public. Minutes after his first statement, Trump in another post on the social media platform added: 'President XI and I are going to work closely together to open up China to American Trade. This would be a great WIN for both countries!!!' The current round of talks in London came after Trump and the President of China Xi Jinping held a call last week. 'The two sides need to make good use of the economic and trade consultation mechanism already in place, and seek win-win results in the spirit of equality and respect for each other's concerns,' Xi is said to have told Trump during the call, according to the Chinese readout. The 90-minute call between the two leaders last week was the first between the two since Trump returned to the White House in January, reported The New York Times. 'The two sides reached principled agreement on implementing the important consensus reached by the two heads of state during their phone call on June 5 and the framework of measures to consolidate the outcomes of the economic and trade talks in Geneva, and made new progress in addressing each other's economic and trade concerns,' the Chinese readout of the talks in London said, as published by Xinhua. The US delegation consisted of Lutnick, US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. China was represented by Vice Premier He Lifeng, who is in charge of economic policy. The deal, if agreed to by both leaders, could see some normalisation in the export of critical minerals from China to the US, which is a key part of the manufacturing of most modern technologies. After Trump's original tariffs on China touched 145 per cent a few months ago, Beijing instituted curbs on the exports of such goods, given its strong hold on the supply of critical minerals and magnets in the global market. The US in retaliation also highlighted a potential ban of Chinese students from studying at American universities. Of 102 hit-&-run compensation claims filed in Gurgaon, only 2 settled in 3 years
Gurgaon: In three years, 102 claims have been filed by families or victims of hit-and-run accidents, of which compensation has been disbursed for only two of them. Two cases are in the final stages of processing, and the remaining – 98 – are still being investigated by police. This slow pace of resolution has left families of accident victims in the lurch, with some waiting for years after they applied for aid under the 2022 Hit-and-Run Motor Accident Compensation scheme. The scheme, which falls under Section 161 of the Motor Vehicles Act , came into effect from April 1, 2022. It offers Rs 2 lakh as compensation in cases of fatalities, and Rs 50,000 for serious injuries. The scheme is only applicable for hit-and-run accidents, in which police have not been able to identify the errant driver or vehicle. Sunita, a city resident whose husband died in a hit-and-run accident on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway this year, told TOI she has been waiting for compensation for months. Her husband was the only earning member of the family. "My husband was returning home after work on a cycle when he was hit by an unknown vehicle. After his death, I started working as domestic help to support my family," she said, adding that compensation will help her pay for her kids' education. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo The issue of delayed resolutions also came up at a district road safety committee meeting, chaired by Gurgaon deputy commissioner Ajay Kumar, earlier this week. "The regional transport authority (RTA) secretary has been directed to expedite the data collection process, ensuring that claims are processed swiftly and efficiently. The goal is to provide timely financial assistance to victims, alleviating some of the burdens they face in the wake of these tragic incidents," the DC had said, directing all involved agencies to expedite the process. According to the norms, a hit-and-run accident victim or a victim's family can apply for compensation under the scheme before the sub-divisional magistrate. They have to submit a death certificate, post-mortem report, or hospital treatment documents as proof. But the scheme does not specify any timeline for completion of police inquiry, which delays a decision on the claim. Accidents aren't uncommon on city roads, particularly the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, or NH-8. Last year, Gurgaon recorded 1,026 road accidents that led to 428 fatalities. Around 44% of the accidents were on national highways in the city, and the largest chunk of fatalities involved two-wheelers, traffic police data showed. In accident cases in which the errant driver/vehicle has been identified, victims and their families can approach the Motor Accident Claim Tribunal (MACT) and file a case to seek compensation. The tribunal, after hearing both sides, determines the amount of compensation that may be paid to accident victims or their families. In many cases, the company that insured the errant driver's vehicle is asked to provide compensation.
