Elwateen set to represent Oaks hopes for Shadwell
She ran an encouraging race on the Rowley Mile, finishing fourth in a performance both trainer and jockey felt hinted at further promise over an extended trip.
The Dubawi filly will find that test of stamina in the Oaks at Epsom on June 6, a race she will be supplemented for providing she works satisfactorily over the weekend.
'If Saeed is happy with Elwateen on Saturday morning, then she will be supplemented for the Oaks,' said Angus Gold, racing manager to owner-breeder Shadwell.
'Going into the Guineas, I asked Saeed what he felt her trip was going to be and he said she'll certainly get a mile and a quarter.
'We were thrilled with the Guineas run and Jim (Crowley) came out of it saying she ran right to the top of the hill.
'Jim said he can absolutely guarantee she'll stay a mile and a quarter. Beyond that I don't suppose we'll find out until the big day, but I'd be surprised if she didn't stay.
'I think she's a very classy filly and I'll be surprised if it's the trip that beats her.'
Elwateen's introduction into the Oaks field would point Owen Burrows' Falakeyah, also owned by Shadwell, in a different direction.
The filly was a hugely impressive winner of the Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket and entered the Epsom picture as a result, but her trainer immediately made it clear that her participation was far from guaranteed.
Connections feel her turn of foot may mean the Oaks trip of a mile and a half is not her optimum, and therefore the 10-furlong Prix de Diane, the French equivalent of the Oaks, is an alternative alongside the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.
'Elwateen going to Epsom would mean that Falakeyah is more likely to head to Chantilly, and we will also still have the option of supplementing her for the Coronation Stakes if that's what everybody agrees,' Gold added.
'She is entered for the Prix de Diane and I would think that is the most likely option at the moment.
'With Falakeyah, Jim's feeling was that the speed she likes to go at wouldn't guarantee she'd get a mile and a half.
'In my experience most of them are too slow, so it's nice to have one that might be too fast for a change!
'We're very lucky, we don't have as many horses anymore so it's very nice to have two Classic chances to talk about.'

We wanted to buy but it's become clear that isn't going to happen and so we're trying to help Palace and the situation with UEFA. That's about all I can say.' Textor was previously linked with a takeover of Everton before they were bought by the Friedkin Group. In the season just completed both Manchester United and Nice, and Manchester City and Girona had to ensure "significant changes" were made for all four to be permitted entry to the Europa League and Champions League. That included appointing an independent trustee, supervised by UEFA's Club Financial Control Body, which had "the effective control and decision-making of" Nice and Girona. Directors were also forced to resign from the clubs' boards while they were banned from transferring players to each other and from sharing commercial agreements or scouting databases. Rules state that if Palace are unable to meet UEFA's demands they would be able to drop down to the Conference League. But that is complicated by Brondby, which is owned by another of the Selhurst Park club's minority owners David Blitzer, already qualifying for that competition via the Danish league and that ranking takes precedence over teams who qualify by winning a domestic cup competition. In the unlikely event that Palace are denied entry their bitter rivals Brighton would find themselves in the Conference League on account of finishing ninth in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest promoted to the Europa.

Gianluigi Donnarumma's agent responds to talk of shock PSG exit
Gianluigi Donnarumma was one of the stars of Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League-winning campaign, but the goalkeeper has been linked with a summer exit. The Italian may have had very little to do in the 5-0 thrashing of Inter Milan in the final, but he was superb during the competition, starring as the French side beat the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal. Still just 26 years old, Donnarumma has now added the Champions League to his CV which already boasts four Ligue 1 titles and the European Championship won with Italy in 2021. His future is in question, though, as his contract in Paris only runs until the summer of 2026, alerting the attention of interested parties. As one of the best goalkeepers on the planet, there would be no shortage of suitors for Donnarumma, with the likes of Premier League giants Manchester City and Serie A champions Napoli linked with a move. The possibility of a return to Italy with Napoli was put to the player's agent, Enzo Raiola, and while he noted that Donnarumma's mother is a fan of the club, the idea is fanciful. 'His mother is a huge Napoli fan, and she gets anxious watching their games. Gigio is connected to that,' Raiola told Radio CRC via 'He grew up as a Milan supporter, watching his older brothers in a Rossoneri shirt, but he never denied his roots. 'It's pure fantasy.
