Ceasefire talks between Hamas, 'Israel' could resume within days: Qatar PM
Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said on Monday that Doha continues to work with Egypt to broker a ceasefire in Gaza, expressing hope that indirect negotiations between 'Israel' and Hamas could resume in the coming days.
Speaking at a press conference in Doha alongside Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, Sheikh Mohammed stressed that ongoing efforts aim to stop the war and violence against civilians in Gaza. 'We hope there will be an opportunity within the next two days for indirect talks between Hamas and Israel to reach a ceasefire agreement,' he said.
The Qatari premier criticized what he described as 'irresponsible Israeli behavior' and urged 'Israel' not to exploit the current lull in its conflict with Iran to intensify attacks on Gaza. He also called on Hamas to release all captives to facilitate a ceasefire deal.
Sheikh Mohammed added that Doha has been engaged in 'intensive diplomatic efforts with our regional partners' and reiterated Qatar's support for the American ceasefire framework. 'We had achieved a lot in the past, but the 'Israeli' escalation against Iran disrupted the process. However, we are continuing our efforts, inshallah,' he said.

Khamenei says Trump 'exaggerated' impact of US strikes on nuclear sites
Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei accused US President Donald Trump on Thursday of exaggerating the impact of US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, in his first appearance since a ceasefire in the war with 'Israel' took hold. In a televised speech, Khamenei hailed what he described as Iran's victory over 'Israel', vowed never to yield to US pressure and insisted Washington had been dealt a humiliating "slap". "The American president exaggerated events in unusual ways, and it turned out that he needed this exaggeration," Khamenei said, rejecting US claims Iran's nuclear programme had been set back by decades. The strikes, he insisted, had done "nothing significant" to Iran's nuclear infrastructure. Trump, however, maintained the US attacks were devastating. The US president said key facilities, including the underground Fordo uranium enrichment site, had been "obliterated" by American B-2 bombers. Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump dismissed speculation Iran might have removed enriched uranium prior to the raid, saying: "Nothing was taken out... too dangerous, and very heavy and hard to move!" He added that satellite images showed trucks at the site only because Iranian crews were attempting to shield the facility with concrete. Khamenei dismissed such claims, saying "the Islamic republic won, and in retaliation dealt a severe slap to the face of America". His remarks followed the end of a 12-day war between Iran and 'Israel' – the deadliest between the two countries to date. Both sides have claimed victory: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it a "historic win", while Khamenei said Iran's missile retaliation had brought Israel to the brink of collapse. US defence In Washington, the true impact of the strikes has sparked sharp political and intelligence debates. A leaked classified assessment suggested the damage to Iran's nuclear programme may be less severe than initially claimed -- possibly delaying progress by only a few months. This assessment contrasts with statements from senior US officials. CIA Director John Ratcliffe said several facilities would need to be "rebuilt over the course of years". Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth accused the media of misrepresenting the operation. He said the United States used massive GBU-57 bunker-buster bombs on Fordo and another underground site, while submarine-launched Tomahawk missiles targeted a third facility. "President Trump created the conditions to end the war, decimating -- choose your word -- obliterating, destroying Iran's nuclear capabilities," Hegseth said.

Hamas issues statement praising West Bank resistance
The Palestinian resistance group Hamas on Thursday praised the courage of residents in the occupied West Bank who continue to confront attacks by 'Israeli' settlers, while also mourning the death of a senior Iranian commander killed in an 'Israeli' strike. In a statement, Hamas commended the 'bravery of the people of Turmus Ayya and all areas of the West Bank,' describing their defense against what it called 'terrorist settler attacks' as a reflection of Palestinian steadfastness and refusal to surrender their land and rights. 'The crimes of the occupation and its settlers in the West Bank will not shake our people's determination nor their hold on their land,' said Hamas official Abdul Rahman Shadid. 'The occupation must bear full responsibility for the consequences of its ongoing crimes across the West Bank. Our people will not abandon the path of resistance.' Shadid reaffirmed that armed resistance remains a legitimate right under occupation and vowed that Palestinians would continue defending their land and holy sites 'by all possible means.' In a separate statement, Hamas announced the death of Brigadier General Saeed Izadi, known as Hajj Ramadan, a senior officer in Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and head of the 'Palestine file.' Izadi was killed in an 'Israeli' airstrike during the recent escalation targeting Iranian positions. Hamas called Izadi a 'pillar of support' for Palestinian resistance movements and hailed his decades of commitment to the Palestinian cause. 'With deep faith in God's decree, we mourn the martyrdom of the commander Saeed Izadi, who rose to heaven as a martyr in a treacherous assassination during the Zionist aggression on the Islamic Republic of Iran,' Hamas said in its official statement. Hamas offered condolences to Iran's leadership, people, and the family of the slain commander, praising Tehran for its consistent support for Palestine. 'The blood of this great leader, along with the many martyrs who have fallen on this path, will remain fuel for the resistance until liberation,' the statement concluded.

European summit condemns Gaza crisis, demands full blockade lift
European Summit strongly condemned the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, highlighting the worsening famine and the large number of civilian casualties resulting from ongoing military operations and the blockade imposed on the territory. In their statement, EU leaders called on 'Israel' to fully lift the blockade and allow unhindered access for humanitarian aid, stressing the need to ensure a safe and regular flow of assistance to civilians in Gaza. The summit also denounced the recent escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories, including settler violence and settlement expansion, as well as the continued 'Israeli' military operations in the West Bank. The leaders emphasized that these violations undermine prospects for peace and stability in the region. Furthermore, the statement announced that the European Summit will discuss a report in July assessing 'Israel's' compliance with the partnership agreement it has with the EU, amid growing concerns over Tel Aviv's obligations to international law and human rights.
