NBA Draft Expert Reveals Who The Spurs Will Select As No. 2 Overall Pick; Potential Three-Guard Lineup With Victor Wembanyama
NBA draft expert Jonathan Givony recently revealed that the San Antonio Spurs will try to select Dylan Harper with their No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming draft. The expert revealed this item of information following the Draft Combine and, while speaking with ESPN said:
"Dylan Harper is going to be the No. 2 pick in the draft," said the expert. "I am 99.9% sure about it. He also looked really, really good. Tested very well. Shot it well. His body is in a great place, he's lost 15 pounds in the last year, and he's also grown."

"He has measurements comparable to those of Dwyane Wade coming out of college. The San Antonio Spurs are signaling to teams that they are excited about the opportunity to draft Dylan Harper."
Givony then went on to add something that could potentially crumble a multitude of existing trade rumors surrounding the Spurs. He said, "They are not pursuing trades from what we're hearing. They think that they can play Dylan Harper together with Steph Castle and De'Aaron Fox in the same backcourt."
"Obviously, teams have some question marks about the amount of shooting on that roster," added the expert. "That is something that they are going to address at a later stage. Harper is the second-best prospect in this draft. He will go second, I believe."
The Spurs are building a truly terrifying roster for the future. Already served by some tremendous young players in Victor Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox, and the reigning ROTY Stephon Castle, San Antonio presents a formidable roster.

The addition of a guard like Dylan Harper could prove to be quite effective for the team. Harper had a terrific season at Rutgers, where he averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while shooting 48.4% from the field. In a majority of mock drafts, Harper was expected to go second.
In light of this, a three-guard lineup doesn't necessarily hurt San Antonio in the slightest. While the perimeter shooting is a bit of a concern, the team boasts solid scoring ability across the board.
Fox makes for a tremendous playmaker alongside a consistent floor-spacing threat in Wembanyama. Castle's shot-creation ability would pair quite well with Harper's style of play. Meanwhile, a reliable veteran in Harrison Barnes remains available when in need of crucial points.
Although the Spurs' second-overall pick presented them as a prime trading destination, the team may simply choose to stick to their timeline for development.

Meanwhile, recent draft projections have also revealed the type of players other teams may pursue. With the Warriors projected to select an elite shooter out of Tennessee and the Lakers projected to draft a big man in the second round, the 2025 Draft will see a lot of teams make some interesting decisions for their future.

The Phoenix Suns are expected to trade Kevin Durant this offseason, and we're starting to get an idea of when a deal could go down. Advertisement According to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports, the Suns could trade Durant "right before" the 2025 NBA draft. "I expect that a KD deal would happen right before the draft because you want to include draft capital in the deal," Gambadoro said. Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant could be on the move again approaching the NBA Scuteri-Imagn Images Not only did Gambadoro reveal when a Durant trade could happen, but the veteran NBA insider also reported the destination of the future Hall of Famer. 'The team that I heard last night in speaking to somebody pretty close to the situation with KD is keep your eye on the Spurs,' Gambadoro said. 'KD could have some interest in the Spurs. 'That may be a good landing spot for him with (De'Aaron) Fox and (Victor) Wembanyama an up-and-coming team on the rise that has a great defensive anchor on their team and a terrific young player in Stephon Castle." Durant turns 37 in September. He averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the Suns this season in 62 games while shooting 52.7 percent from the field, 43.0 percent from beyond the arc and 83.9 percent from the free-throw line. Three-Team NBA Trade Idea Sends Suns' Kevin Durant to Heat
Three-Team NBA Trade Idea Sends Suns' Kevin Durant to Heat originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat both had disappointing 2024-25 seasons. The Suns missed the playoffs and play-in tournament despite having Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. Mike Budenholzer was fired as head coach after just one year in the desert. Advertisement Meanwhile, the Heat were forced to trade Jimmy Butler after the All-Star requested a trade. Miami traded Butler to the Golden State Warriors. While the Heat made the playoffs this year, unlike the Suns, they were swept in the first round by the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Suns are widely expected to trade Durant this offseason and one NBA analyst believes the Heat should acquire the future Hall of Famer, who only has one year left on his contract. Sam Quinn of CBS Sports proposed the following three-team trade idea between the Suns, Heat and Portland Trail Blazers: Suns get: Andrew Wiggins, Robert Williams III, Nikola Jović, 2030 first-round pick, 2032 first-round pick Advertisement Heat get: Kevin Durant Trail Blazers get: Duncan Robinson Durant averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the Suns this season while shooting 52.7% from the field, 43.0% from beyond the arc and 83.9% from the free-throw line. He turns 37 in September. An NBA trade idea sending Kevin Durant from Phoenix to Miami has emerged. Jesse Johnson-Imagn Images "So, is Durant worth it? The answer is yes, at least if Kel'el Ware continues to grow as the team hopes," Quinn wrote. "That might not be the case if the Boston Celtics were still at full power, but, with apologies to the Indiana Pacers, the Eastern Conference throne is vacant right now. "There is no obvious juggernaut holding it. A team built around Tyler Herro, Durant and Bam Adebayo would have a real chance to seize it. That chance would rise significantly if Ware takes a major step or if the shooting Davion Mitchell showed with the Heat last season persists. Miami always develops depth." Advertisement Durant has career averages of 27.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets and Suns. KD won two championships and two Finals MVPs with the Warriors but hasn't gotten back to the NBA Finals since leaving Golden State for Brooklyn in 2019. It will be fascinating to see where Durant is playing next season. He was linked to the Heat at the February NBA trade deadline.
