Govt plans industrial parks in every constituency
Hyderabad: In an effort to further industrialize Telangana, State IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu announced that industrial parks adhering to international standards will be established in every constituency. These parks will focus on promoting the establishment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with a particular emphasis on encouraging young entrepreneurs from Telangana.
On Tuesday, Minister Sridhar Babu laid the foundation stone for the 'Mobility Valley Park,' to be developed under the aegis of TGIIC at Yenkathla village in Mominpetmandal in Vikarabad district, with an investment of Rs44.3 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the park, spread over 862 acres, is expected to generate employment for nearly 10,000 youth. He emphasized that industrial development should not be confined to Hyderabad alone and that the government is actively encouraging industrialists to invest across various regions of the state.
The government remains fully committed to supporting MSMEs and has introduced a dedicated policy aimed at strengthening this sector.
Sridhar Babu also addressed ongoing misinformation campaigns against the government, stating that while many industrialists are showing interest in investing in Telangana, some vested interests are deliberately spreading false propaganda. He urged such elements to refrain from obstructing the State's progress. The event was attended by Speaker Prasad Kumar, Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, MLC Mahender Reddy, MLAs Rammohan Reddy, Manohar Reddy and TGIIC Chairperson Nirmala Jagga Reddy, among others.

TGPSC, NALSAR host nat'l workshop on legal challenges
Hyderabad: State IT Minister D Sridhar Babu inaugurated a two-day national workshop of the public service commission being hosted by the NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, and Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) on Legal Issues and Mitigation at Public Service Commissions (PSCs) at NALSAR Campus, on Thursday. The event brought together participation from 18 State PSCs, including 8 Chairpersons, 13 Members, 5 Secretaries, and 17 senior officials. Member UPSC, Dinesh Dasa, Santosh Gopal Ajmera, Joint Secretary; and Srikala, Under Secretary, also joined the deliberations. The workshop aims to address the growing litigation burden on PSCs and discuss effective legal mitigation strategies. Participants engaged in meaningful dialogue on existing court cases, legal precedents, and ways to reduce litigation through systemic improvements. Sridhar Babu lauded TGPSC's initiative to convene this national-level workshop, which enables PSC leadership to collectively explore legal challenges and work towards harmonized solutions for reducing litigations in recruitment processes. During the keynote address, Dr. Ajay Kumar, the Chairman of UPSC, emphasized the importance of leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to digitize the operations of Public Service Commissions. He noted that this would improve efficiency and help reduce recruitment disputes. Burra Venkatesham, Chairman of TGPSC, warmly welcomed the IT Minister and expressed gratitude to Dr. Kumar for his guidance and vision during the meeting. He highlighted that, although each Public Service Commission (PSC) operates independently and faces unique challenges, the workshop serves as a common platform for sharing experiences, learning from best practices, and collaboratively addressing legal complexities. On Day 1 of the workshop, four insightful panel discussions were conducted on significant topics, including the Nature of Litigation and Challenges for PSCs, Causes for Litigation in Public Service Recruitment, Judicial Insights and Compliance, and Mitigation Strategies at PSCs. Further discussions will continue on Friday, focusing on other prominent legal challenges.

Telangana making big efforts in energy transition: Sridhar Babu
The Telangana government is making big efforts in energy transition, sustainable urban planning and technology-driven environmental initiatives, Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu said here on Thursday. It also offers a conducive investment environment that favours innovation, energy efficiency and environmental responsibility, he said, inviting industries that align with such values to make Telangana their preferred destination. Addressing the inaugural session of two-day GreenCo Summit 2025 of CII GreenCo Council that got underway here, the Minister said this while highlighting a multi-pronged approach pursued by the government, which includes the target of generating 20,000 MW of green energy by 2030. The State's Clean Energy Policy seeks to achieve this by encouraging solar, wind, floating solar and hydro energy as well as energy storage projects. The policy is also eyeing 1,418 KTPA green hydrogen projects by 2030. Mr. Sridhar Babu also underscored the need for States with a strong IT industry like Telangana to strike a balance between development and environmental protection, especially in the context of power-guzzling data centres that are a must for harnessing the potential of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. Over time, with government support industries should adopt green measures in the process making the pollution control boards redundant, he said. GreenCo Rating Platinum Awards for excellence in environmental performance, energy efficiency and green manufacturing practices were presented to more than 60 companies. An exhibition of green products, technologies and services forms part of the event. CII Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre Chairman Jamshyd N Godrej, CII Vice President Suchitra K Ella and CII GreenCo Council Chairman Pradeep Bhargava were among those spoke at the inaugural session.

Minister touts Telangana as emerging global skill capital
Hyderabad: Telangana is poised to become the 'Skill Capital of the Globe' under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, said Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT and Industries. The Minister was speaking after a high-level meeting with representatives of UK-based semiconductor giant ARM Holdings at Dr B R Ambedkar Secretariat on Wednesday. During the meeting, the Minister highlighted Telangana's business friendly ecosystem and the proactive support extended by the state government to industries. He noted that ARM Holdings' keen interest in investing in Telangana reflects the efficiency and credibility of the state's governance. 'We extend our sincere gratitude to ARM Holdings for expressing interest in partnering with us in the semiconductor sector. The government will provide all necessary support to facilitate their entry and growth,' the Minister affirmed. 'Our greatest asset is our youth. They are highly talented and need only the right guidance to excel. Through the Young India Skills University, we are committed to creating industry-ready human capital,' he added. Emphasising the growing global demand in the semiconductor sector, Minister Sridhar Babu reiterated the government's commitment to skilling Telangana's youth in line with industry needs. In a major boost to this initiative, Ken Ku, CEO of Malaysia-based Spring Semiconductors, who attended the meeting, expressed the company's willingness to take responsibility for training 10,000 youth by 2030. 'We commend the Telangana government's dedication to becoming the global hub for skilled talent. Spring Semiconductors will develop a specialised curriculum to train local youth in semiconductor manufacturing and design. The training will involve six months of instruction in Telangana followed by international internships in countries like Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan,' Ku stated. He also confirmed that this ambitious plan will be executed in partnership with T-Consult. Minister Sridhar Babu welcomed this initiative and thanked Ken Ku for his proactive support.
