has been recognised as the top performing unit in the country for the financial year 2024–2025, earning national acclaim for filing the highest number of
prosecution complaints
under the
Prevention of Money Laundering Act
.
Joint director Rohit Anand was honoured by the ministry of finance during a special ceremony held in Delhi on Enforcement Directorate Day on Thursday. The award was presented by additional solicitor general SV Raju, minister of state for finance Pankaj Chaudhary, and ED director Rahul Navin.

ED officials noted said although many criminal assets are secured, they often remain unproductive until final confiscation orders are passed by the courts. To accelerate restitution, the agency utilised provisions for Non-Conviction Based Confiscation under the PMLA, as well as the Fugitive Economic Offenders Act.
These efforts were bolstered through collaboration with banks, financial institutions, state govts, resolution professionals, and legal officers. The Hyderabad zonal office also recorded a significant number of property attachments and enforcement case information reports, further strengthening its contribution to the ED's national enforcement efforts.

"These are essential equipment, other than food and medicines, for which tenders are floated. These equipment help to keep the kennels and stables clean, but more importantly, help in training the animals so that they are always ready to go into operation. Add to it the various events and competitions they need to attend in their best shape," said a joint commissioner. While there are 65 horses at its two stables at SN Banerjee Road and Police Training School at Alipore, there are presently 42 dogs under the Kolkata Police Dog Squad, with cops planning to induct 12 more. Kolkata Police proposed to spend Rs 31.5 lakh for the grooming of horses this financial year. These items are essential equipment and supplies used in horse care, riding, and stable management. The equipment is also important for Kolkata police horses to prepare for all India equestrian championships where the team's performances – especially in the police and paramilitary competitions – were noteworthy. The order includes various items for the dog's comfort and protection in different weather conditions.

The talks took place amid strong British condemnation of the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Dino Morea Summoned By ED In Rs 65 Crore Mithi River Desilting Scam
Mumbai: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Bollywood actor Dino Morea and asked him to appear next week. He has been summoned in connection with the Rs 65 crore Mithi river desilting case, ED officials said. On Friday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at fifteen locations in the Mithi river desilting case, including at actor Dino Morea's home in Mumbai. The raid comes days after the actor appeared before the Mumbai Police for questioning in a corruption case. His brother was also questioned by the raids were carried out across Mumbai and Kochi under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) at locations linked to contractors and officials suspected of embezzlement in the desilting operations of the Mithi River. The case involves accusations of alleged inflated bills, fake work logs, and systematic diversion of public funds sanctioned for flood prevention and drainage maintenance in Mumbai. In response, the BMC and other civic agencies initiated regular desilting and cleaning operations to prevent future flooding. However, audits and investigations by agencies in recent years exposed glaring discrepancies in the actual versus reported desilting work, raising serious concerns about corruption. Earlier inquiries by the Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) had flagged possible financial misconduct. The ED stepped in after taking cognizance of these reports and registered a money laundering case to trace the proceeds of crime. The ED suspects that a network of contractors and middlemen submitted fraudulent work completion reports and siphoned off funds meant for critical infrastructure development.
