When host
Karan Johar
asked Alia what she'd take from Priyanka Chopra's career, she answered without skipping a beat, 'Her (Priyanka) voice is very sexy. I love her voice.'
Next up on
Karan
's list was Deepika Padukone, and once again, the 'Highway' actress was full of praise. 'DP (Deepika Padukone) is her presence. She comes on screen, and you can't help but look at her. I would like that... (acting star-struck)… presence,' she said, while mimicking the awe Deepika creates on screen.
When it came to Katrina Kaif, the '2 States' actress didn't hold back her admiration either, 'I said this before, and I genuinely believe that Katrina is the hardest working person I know and the way she has worked on every song... is what dreams are made up for me.'
While the industry is often seen as competitive, it's refreshing to see stars like Alia showing genuine admiration for her peers. Karan Johar couldn't help but smile as she gave her answers, clearly proud of her thoughtful responses.

Vijay Mallya recalls picking Virat Kohli for RCB as a youngster: ‘Remarkable he stayed for 18 years'
Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya was in a celebratory mood as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lifted the IPL trophy after 18 long years. RCB earned a place in the history books after trouncing Punjab Kings in the final of the 18th season of IPL to bring the trophy home for the first time in 18 years. In a post shared on the social media platform X, the former owner of RCB recalled picking Virat Kohli for the team at its inception and said it was his dream to bring the IPL trophy to Bengaluru. 'When I founded RCB it was my dream that the IPL trophy should come to Bengaluru,' wrote Vijay Mallya. 'I had the privilege of picking the legendary King Kohli as a youngster and it is remarkable that he has stayed with RCB for 18 years. 'I also had the honour of picking Chris Gayle the Universe Boss and Mr 360 AB DeVillers who remain an indelible part of RCB history. 'Finally, the IPL trophy arrives in Bengaluru. Congratulations and thanks again to all who made my dream come true. RCB fans are the very best and they deserve the IPL trophy. Ee Sala Cup Bengaluru baruthe!' he wrote. After the establishment of IPL, an auction was held in January 2008 which represented eight different cities in India. The Bangalore franchise was acquired by Vijay Mallya. Mallya paid $111.6 million for the franchise, making it the second most expensive - just behind Reliance-owned Mumbai Indians. RCB acquired several high-profile Indian and international players, including Jacques Kallis, Anil Kumble and Zaheer Khan. In the second round of the auction, they also signed India under-19 World Cup-winning captain Virat Kohli. He was yet to turn 18. In nearly two decades with RCB, Virat Kohli has of course gone from strength to strength. His words after the IPL 2025 win give a glimpse into what the win means for him. "This win is as much for the fans as it is for the team. It's been 18 long years. I've given this team my youth, prime and experience. I've tried to win it every season, gave it everything I have,' said Kohli. 'To finally have it is an unbelievable feeling. Never thought this day would come, I was overcome with emotion after the last ball was bowled.'

Singapore President praises A R Rahman for working with local musicians
Singapore, Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam has praised India's leading musician A R Rahman for collaborating with local musicians and giving them "valuable exposure". "ARR has also done our own talent good over the years, by giving them valuable exposure," The Straits Times quoted Tharman as having said in a social media post on Monday . "Our Indian music and cultural talent, from classical to the most contemporary and edgy, are naturally a minority in the local scene. But they make Singapore's multiculturalism all the more special," Tharman said. Tharman listed the home-grown acts who have worked with Rahman — rapper-songwriter duo Lady Kash and Krissy, singer-musician Shabir and rapper Yung Raja. Rahman's collaborations include "Wanna Mash Up?," a song with Lady Kash and Krissy for the 2014 Hindi film Highway. Tharman added that Singapore was the first place the Chennai-born Rahman travelled to outside of India in the 1980s and how the musician bought his equipment from local music stores Swee Lee and City Music. "Good to see that both local music stores are still going strong after all these years," Tharman wrote. Tharman uploaded photos of himself meeting the Grammy-, Oscar- and Golden Globe-winning music and film icon popularly known as ARR, who was in town on May 10 and 11 for the premiere of Le Musk, a multi-sensory virtual reality film he directed that is screening at Golden Village Suntec City theatre until August 12. Le Musk, a 37-minute film that marks his directorial debut, uses pioneering camera technologies to present an immersive film that blends VR, haptics, music and fragrance. At GV Suntec City, viewers will wear VR headsets and sit in special egg-shaped chairs that release scents. Rahman has staged several concerts in Singapore, most recently at the National Stadium on August 31 . He also performed at Gardens by the Bay in 2014, the Singapore Indoor Stadium in 2005, and Marina Bay Sands in 2011.
