Family Man 3 actor Rohit Basfore found dead near Assam waterfall, kin allege foul play
Rohit Basfore, an actor set to appear in the much-anticipated third season of The Family Man, was tragically found dead near a waterfall in Assam on Sunday, April 27. The 28-year-old had reportedly gone out for a day with friends but never returned home. His death has since taken a dark turn, with his family alleging it was not an accident, but a calculated murder.
Family of Rohit Basfore think it's a murder
Basfore, who had recently returned to Guwahati from Mumbai, left home around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday for a casual outing. According to his relatives, he was in good spirits and was invited by a local gym owner named Amardeep, who is now among those named in the family's murder complaint.

What happened to Rohit Basfore?
When the actor failed to return or respond to calls by the evening, his family became concerned. A few hours later, a friend informed them of an accident. Basfore was reportedly rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Was Rohit Basfore really murdered?
The circumstances surrounding his death, however, have raised serious questions. The family claims that Rohit was recently involved in a parking dispute that escalated into threats. They have specifically named three individuals, Ranjit Basfore, Ashok Basfore, and Dharam Basfore, who allegedly issued death threats during the altercation. Amardeep, the gym owner who extended the invitation for the Sunday outing, is also under suspicion.
On Monday, an autopsy was conducted at Guwahati Medical College Hospital. A source close to the investigation confirmed that multiple injuries were observed on Rohit's head, face, and other parts of his body. These findings have further fuelled the family's belief that foul play was involved.
An official familiar with the case stated that the matter is being investigated thoroughly, and efforts are ongoing to locate the four accused individuals, who are currently on the run.
Rohit Basfore was a rising talent in Indian entertainment. His role in the upcoming season of The Family Man, which also stars Manoj Bajpayee and will introduce Jaideep Ahlawat to the franchise, was expected to be a stepping stone in his career.
As the investigation continues, the actor's family and supporters are calling for a fair probe into what they believe is a preventable and tragic loss.

Disturbing video shows Indian student in US pinned to floor, handcuffed before deportation
A disturbing video shows an Indian student handcuffed and pinned to the floor at USA's Newark Airport before he was deported. The video was shared on social media by Indian-American entrepreneur Kunal Jain, who said that the youngster was crying and was treated like a 'criminal' by authorities. Jain called on the Indian Embassy in the United States to look into the incident and help the student. 'I witnessed a young Indian student being deported from Newark Airport last night— handcuffed, crying, treated like a criminal,' he wrote on X. 'He came chasing dreams, not causing harm. As an NRI, I felt helpless and heartbroken. This is a human tragedy,' added Kunal Jain, President of HealthBots AI. According to Jain, the incident took place at Newark Airport in New Jersey. Visuals shared by him show the Indian man pinned to the floor by authorities. One photograph shows a police officer wearing a cap that reads 'Port Authority Police'. The Port Authority Police Department (PAPD) is a transit law-enforcement agency serving New York and New Jersey. It is tasked with protecting the Port Authority's critical infrastructure, such as airports, bridges, tunnels, bus terminals, seaports, rail transit, and the World Trade Center complex. It is the largest transit‑related police force in the United States. In follow-up posts, the NRI said that the student in question appeared to be speaking Haryanavi. He said that there have been several similar cases of Indians being deported over the last few weeks. He attributed it to them being unable to explain the reason for their visit. 'These children get their visas and get on a flight in the morning. For some reason, they are unable to explain the reason for their visit to the immigration authorities and are sent back on the evening flight tied up like criminals. Every day 3-4 such cases are happening. There have been more such cases in the last few days,' Jain wrote.
