'I come from a small tight-knit community and when I look back at where I have come from, I am proud of what I've achieved, which is something I share with Walker's.
"It's a real honour to be part of this next chapter for such a well-loved Scottish brand.
'I've been eating shortbread since I was a kid – my gran would make it all the time for us. We even celebrated my Wimbledon win with shortbread.
"No matter where I am in the world, a piece of Walker's Shortbread always transports me back home.'
The company said it is "incredibly excited to welcome Andy Murray to the Walkers' shortbread family", with bosses saying his journey from a small town in Scotland "mirrors our own".
Murray grew up in Dunblane in Stirlingshire before becoming one of Scotland's most cherished sports stars.
Walker's shortbread is baked in the Moray village of Aberlour, following a recipe developed by Joseph Walker in 1898. It is now one of Scotland's biggest exporters of food and employs more than 1200 people.
A post on Instagram from Walker's said: "He's the perfect match to be our first-ever brand ambassador for Walker's, with our shared sense of national heritage, pride, and understated charm of two of Scotland's most famous exports.
"Together, we're celebrating 'A wee bit of Scotland that's come a long way'."
Nicky Walker, managing director at Walker's Shortbread, said: "We are incredibly excited to welcome Andy Murray as our very first brand ambassador.
"We've always admired Andy's achievements, his dedication and his cautious charisma as well as his very obvious close relationship with his own family.
"These are qualities that resonate deeply with our own values at Walker's Shortbread. We are genuinely honoured that Andy and his team have acknowledged Walker's as a suitable partner, and we are looking forward to this exciting new venture as we continue to promote 'Scotland at its Finest'.'
The multi-year partnership will debut with a "bold, striking" black and white campaign, launching on June 30 to coincide with the start of Wimbledon.
Shot with a "sleek, cinematic feel" the ad will showcase the shared qualities of both the brand and the tennis champion with a "humorous twist".

Dan Evans stuns Frances Tiafoe in first round at Queen's
The 35-year-old kept his cool on a sun-baked Andy Murray Arena at Queen's Club with a 7-5 6-2 victory. It was the former British number one's second career win over a top-20 opponent on grass, having knocked 16th-ranked Nikoloz Basilashvili out of Wimbledon six years ago. Evans, now ranked a lowly 199 and mainly competing at lower-tier Challenger events, said: 'It's always amazing to play here. I was lucky I got the wild card. Home heroics! 💪🇬🇧 Dan Evans downs No.7 seed Tiafoe 7-5, 6-2 on Andy Murray Arena!@QueensTennis | #HSBCChampionships — ATP Tour (@atptour) June 16, 2025 'I didn't know he was top 20 – but I knew he was very good. I'm happy to play some good tennis because it has been few and far between. 'Days like this are why I've been carrying on playing. I've been preparing really well and focusing on what I needed to today. 'It has been a long year so far. I've been playing the lower tournaments, but this is why I'm hanging around to try and get some wins on the grass.' A run of five games in a row did the damage, with a neat serve and volley wrapping up a tight first set. American Tiafoe had to retire from his first-round match last year after slipping over and injuring his hip. It was Evans who took a tumble early in the second set, but he recovered to consolidate another break with an ace. He had a stroke of luck when a forehand clipped the net and rolled over to clinch a second break, before wrapping up a notable win with a volley. Evans will face Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard or Brandon Nakashima in round two. Former finalist Cameron Norrie, the British number three, was knocked out by Czech teenager Jakub Mensik. Norrie had two set points in an opening-set tie-break but was unable to take either, and moments later Mensik forged ahead. The 29-year-old reset impressively in the second, reeling off five games in a row to level the match. But a double-fault gifted Mensik a break at the start of the third and Norrie quickly ran out of steam as the world number 17 triumphed 7-6 (6) 1-6 6-1.

Lennon details Walter Smith's reaction to McCoist bust-up
The game, which has gone down in history with three red cards, 13 yellows and 34 fan arrests at Celtic Park, is remembered for the heated exchange between Lennon and McCoist. The match resulted in Scottish government intervention in the days that followed the cup replay, with Celtic emerging victorious courtesy of a Mark Wilson goal. Speaking on Open Goal, Lennon has delivered his version of events, as he claimed the altercation began after "nasty antics" from El Hadji Diouf. Lennon said: "El Hadji Diouf started it all. "Emilio Izaguirre got injured after Steven Whittacker caught him in a foul, got a second yellow and was sent off. "Diouf came over to get instructions when Tim Williamson was running on to treat Emilio. "Diouf gives him one of them (motions an elbow). "I clocked it and said 'you f*****g leave my staff alone'. "Coisty then came on to say 'don't talk to my players'. "So, that was the start of it really, then it got really spicy in the game." Lennon went on to describe the moment he and McCoist squared up to each other at the end of the match. He said: "I shook hands with Walter, then he goes. "Coisty said 'don't speak to my players like that,' and I f*****g snapped. "The normal thing to do is to shake hands and leave it, but I said 'is that right?'" Asked about Smith's reaction, Lennon continued: "He was amazing. "He gave us both a bollocking afterwards in my office - he told us to behave ourselves! "He was brilliant. "I loved him. "I had a lot of respect for him, he was a brilliant manager. "Really, really smart."
