Hot Sunday
Storms return mid-week
Mid week cool off
Temperatures climbed into the upper 80s this afternoon, making for a hot end to May. A few isolated storms are possible later this evening, but most areas will remain dry. Any storm chances will taper off after 11 PM. Overnight, temperatures will fall into the upper 50s with a calm north wind.
Most of the wildfire smoke that moved into the region yesterday from Canada has now cleared out and pushed southeast, bringing improved air quality to the area.
Sunday will be another hot day, with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s, some spots may even reach the low 90s. Expect plenty of sunshine throughout the day, and dry conditions will persist. Light easterly winds will offer little relief from the warm afternoon.
As we kick off June, temperatures will remain warm and humidity will begin to rise as southerly winds strengthen by Monday. With more moisture in place, storm chances return. A few showers and storms could develop Monday night, with the potential for stronger to possibly severe storms on Tuesday.
Cooler air moves in by midweek, with highs dropping into the 70s on Wednesday. A few lingering showers are possible through the second half of the week.

Pinpoint Weather Forecast: June 3, 2025

Bakersfield experienced temperatures below the average today, reaching a high of only 88°, which is 1° below the usual 89°. This is far from the record of 109° set back in 1960. Additionally, we received a small amount of rain in the Bakersfield area, 0.01' which is typical for the entire month of June. Isolated thunderstorms are expected to persist and develop in the higher elevations over the next day or so before clearing up by the end of the work week. Temperatures will steadily rise, hitting 100° starting on Saturday, and this trend is likely to continue at least until the middle of next week. After that, a cooldown is expected, bringing temperatures back down to the low 90s just in time for Father's Day weekend. Air quality in the region is predicted to be moderate tomorrow. ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – Warm air for the next couple of days. Well-Above average warmth is back. The sun will be rather filtered because of the wildfire smoke across the central Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. This could bring down our temperatures and even cause air quality problems across New York. By the end of the day Thursday we will look for a cold front to come into the Tiers carrying with it showers, and thunderstorms that may be marginally severe at times. Then once again, we will end up in a rainy pattern to start the weekend. We then hope for a break, for at least a day to recoup on Sunday with the sunshine, but the showers come back Monday.
