When is Soccer Aid 2025? Date, time and players for England and World XI
Soccer Aid is back for 2025 with the charity football match returning to Old Trafford as England battle the World XI.
The Three Lions secured redemption last year with victory for the first time since 2018 thanks to a 6–3 win at Stamford Bridge.
The match, put on to raise money for UNICEF, generated more than £15m in donations last year with the likes of Eden Hazard and Alessandro del Piero featuring in an entertaining nine-goal contest. It was a tough night for Olympics legend Usain Bolt though, with the Jamaican rupturing his Achilles tendon to leave him in agony as a stretcher carried him off the pitch.
This year, former heavyweight world champion boxer Tyson Fury, currently retired since his second defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, will now take charge of England as manager, having teased a return to the ring at the stadium of his beloved Red Devils. The Theatre of Dreams will welcome some Manchester United legends, too, including Wayne Rooney, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes.

Viktor Gyokeres makes Man Utd U-turn after learning Arsenal transfer decision
Viktor Gyokeres had looked to have ruled out a move to Manchester United after their Champions League failure - putting Arsenal in pole position - but the Sporting Lisbon star may have had a change of heart Victor Gyokeres looks to have changed his tune and is now open to a move to Manchester United - despite them not having Champions League football - which was believed to have been a determining factor. The Portuguese side want around £60million for Gyökeres - which is a £25m reduction on his £85m release clause. Gyokeres has a verbal agreement in place with Sporting allowing him to leave for less after he chose to stay in Lisbon last summer. Arsenal, like United, are in the market for a new frontman after opting against signing a new No 9 for several windows. Mirror Football understands that Arsenal are prioritising Benjamin Sesko, though. Arsenal's sporting director Andrea Berta has been negotiating with representatives of both players and their respective clubs simultaneously as the Gunners seek the best deal. However, the decision among the club's hierarchy is to push forward with their swoop for the RB Leipzig forward, rather than Gyokeres. That would leave the Swede, who scored more than 50 times in all competitions, looking for a new buyer. Several of Europe's top clubs are not looking to add a striker which means, even for a player of his quality, options may be limited. Amorim was the man who signed Gyokeres after he impressed in the Championship with Coventry City, later helping him become one of Europe's most prolific strikers. The United boss has just missed out on Liam Delap, who chose to join Chelsea, leaving him to review other options. Matheus Cunha has already been signed for £62.5m. The 27-year-old has just helped Sporting claim the domestic double and has remained tight-lipped on his future. He said: 'Let us see. It's hard for me to say, because yeah it is football and you never know what's going to happen in the summer. So for me to say anything else than that is impossible.' Gyokeres was asked specifically about the possibility of joining Arsenal and added: 'I don't know, I just focus on this. I've tried to focus on the last games because it's so important and I don't want to think about anything else. So yeah, if anything is true, let's see in the summer.'

A women's flag football star has caught the attention of NFL fans after showing off her hugely impressive arm strength. Ava Hanson, the starting quarterback for Wellington High School's flag football team, left NFL fanbases begging for her to sign after leaving them stunned with her display at the Florida state championships last month. In a video posted by user legendaryproductions727 on TikTok, Hanson can be seen dropping back before delivering a roughly 40-yard bomb right in stride to a receiver. The quarterback's Wellington teammate, Avery Schroeder, then scampered into the end zone as the crowd went wild. The impressive play has earned 2.5million views on TikTok - and has plenty of NFL fans asking their team to sign the talented passer. 'I've seen enough welcome to the Atlanta falcons blonde QB,' one wrote. ''She busy? Dolphins need a new QB,' a second added. Flag football will be part of the Games for the first time in 2028 when they take place in LA. And the sport will feature both men's and women's divisions. However, before any shot at the Olympic stage, Hanson, a senior at the Palm Beach County school, is set to take her impressive skills to the collegiate level. In April, Hanson committed to playing for the Hendrix Warriors - a private liberal arts college in Conway, Arkansas - under head coach Doug Peterson. She had also attracted offers from Daytona State College, University of Mount Olive in North Carolina, and Midland University in Nebraska. The gunslinger threw for 3694 yards and 59 touchdowns for Wellington throughout this past season. Yorkshire cycling fans celebrate Women's Tour of Britain start
Cycling fans in Yorkshire have spoken of their excitement as the Women's Tour of Britain got under way in the one of the four-day event began on Thursday at Dalby Forest in the North York Moors National Park, with the race then set to continue into the north-east of England and into Scotland. The start of the Women's Tour has come just over six years after the final edition of the Tour de Yorkshire was held - an event founded in the wake of the 2014 Tour de France, which famously held its opening stages in the county. Attending the opening day, spectator Lynne Gay said she wanted to see "a lot more" races come to Yorkshire in the future. Ms Gay said: "I was born into a cycling family. I've raced myself and I've followed cycling all my life, so we love being here and enjoying the atmosphere."I just wish it had stayed in the area a bit more and maybe gone to Scarborough. "We don't get much cycling in Yorkshire now the Tour de Yorkshire is gone, but I suppose we've got to be grateful we've got this."Meanwhile, Mark, a cyclist from Pickering, North Yorkshire, said: "I think it's so exciting seeing the scale of it."I think it just gets people into cycling. They think, 'I could get out and do that'."It brings excitement to the area." The picturesque North York Moors backdrop to the first stage of the race also proved to be a source of pride for the Maddie Leach said: "It's great. Just to get the exposure out to the young girls and children watching is exciting. "To show the World Tour the roads we train and race on, too.
