Evander's 2 Goals and an Assist Lead Cincinnati Past Montreal 3-1
Evander scored twice to reach nine goals on the season, and Luca Orellano also scored to help Cincinnati beat Montreal 3–1 on Wednesday night.
Cincinnati (11–5–3) had just one victory in its previous five games. Montreal (2–12–5) fell to 0–5–3 at Saputo Stadium this season.
Evander opened the scoring just before first-half injury time when he controlled a cross from DeAndre Yedlin and slotted a left-footed finish past Jonathan Sirois. Evander added another in the 83rd, finishing Lukas Engels' pass from the center of the box to make it 3–0. Evander became the second player in club history (Luciano Acosta in 2022 and 2024) to produce at least 15 goal contributions in less than 1,500 minutes of a season.
Orellano dribbled through Montreal's defense for a flashy goal to double the lead in the 65th. Prince Owusu had his third goal in two games–a header off Jules-Anthony Vilsaint's cross in the 89th minute–for Montreal (2–12–5), which was coming off its second win this season.
Assistant coach David Sauvry filled in for interim head coach Marco Donadel, who served a one-match suspension for an accumulation of yellow cards.

Iloski Scores Club-Record 4 Goals, San Diego Beats Vancouver, Moves Past 'Caps Atop Conference
Milan Iloski scored a club-record four goals, Anders Dreyer had three assists, and San Diego FC beat Vancouver 5–2 on Wednesday night to move past the Whitecaps into first in the Western Conference. Iloski is the third player this season (Vancouver's Brian White and Nashville's Sam Surridge) and the 20th in MLS history to score at least four goals in a game. San Diego (11–5–3) has won seven of nine with just one loss in that span and has 36 points – four behind Philadelphia – the points leaders in all of MLS – and one ahead of Vancouver. Vancouver (10–3–5) has lost back-to-back games following an 11-game unbeaten streak. Tomás Ángel scored for San Diego in the 90th minute. Iloski's shot from the edge of the box was parried by goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka, but Iloski calmly tapped in the one-touch putback from the left side of the area that slipped inside the near post in the 35th minute and then scored on the counter-attack in the 37th minute to make it 2–0. Édier Ocampo scored his first career goal in MLS in the 43rd minute, a first-touch shot off a misplayed ball by San Diego defender Oscar Verhoeven. Dreyer played an arcing ball-in from the right side to the center of the area where Iloski scored on a diving header in the 44th minute for the first hat trick in club history and then ran onto a ball played ahead by Dreyer and beat Takaoka one on one to make it 4–1 in the 47th minute. Mathias Laborda cut Vancouver's deficit to 4–2 in the 66th minute, and Antoine Coupland, who made his MLS debut when he subbed on in the 87th minute, capped the scoring in the sixth minute of stoppage time.

Earthquakes Use 4 Second-Half Goals to Beat 9-Man FC Dallas 4-2
Beau Leroux scored in the 76th minute to put San Jose ahead, and the Earthquakes used four second-half goals to beat nine-man FC Dallas 4–2 on Wednesday night. San Jose (7–7–5), which improved to 4–4–2 on the road this season, has suffered just one loss in its last nine games. Dallas (5–7–6) has gone 1–5–2 at home this season. For all the latest headlines, follow our Google News channel online or via the app. San Jose tied it 1–1 in the 50th minute on Cristian Arango's 10th goal of the season when he headed in Cristian Espinoza's corner kick. Josef Martínez scored his 124th career goal in the 57th on Espinoza's league-leading 10th assist. Leroux capitalized on a mistake deep in Dallas territory to give San Jose a 3–2 lead in the 76th. Mark-Anthony Kaye scored his first goal for San Jose in stoppage time. Dallas was reduced to 10 men in the 79th when Kaick Ferreira was given a straight red card. In the 85th, Sebastien Ibeagha was also shown a red card after taking down Preston Judd at the edge of the 18-yard box. Petar Musa opened the scoring in the 30th after a nice individual effort by Luciano Acosta. In the second half, Musa sent a loose ball in front of the net that was deflected to the feet of Shaq Moore at the far post to tie it at 2 in the 68th. The start of the game was delayed due to lightning.

Atlantic Division Teams Look Internationally in 1st Round of NBA Draft
The Boston Celtics have finished with the best record in the Atlantic Division in each of the last four seasons. That almost certainly won't be the case in 2025–26 as the 2024 NBA champions begin the season without star Jayson Tatum following Achilles tendon surgery and after the Celtics jettisoned core players Kristaps Porziņģis and Jrue Holiday in salary cost-cutting moves. It made the first round of the NBA draft the first opportunity for another team to stake their claim to being the pride of the division. The Philadelphia 76ers had the highest pick of any Atlantic team and used it to get a defensive stalwart in Baylor's VJ Edgecombe third overall. The Brooklyn Nets were the most active team of the night, using each of the five picks they owned when the first round opened. They used a chunk of them to acquire players who have experience overseas, starting with BYU's Egor Demin, originally from Russia, at No. 8. The Celtics also looked internationally for their pick, taking Spain's Hugo González 28th overall. The New York Knicks, who eliminated Boston in the conference semifinals, didn't have a first-round pick after trading their 2025 first-round pick to the Nets as part of the Mikal Bridges trade. The Knicks currently hold the 50th pick in Thursday's second round. Philadelphia 76ers Needs: An athletic player to pair with a core led by Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Who they drafted: Edgecombe at No. 3 NBA comparisons: Known for his defensive prowess, Edgecombe is a sneaky good scorer, which is reminiscent of Boston's Derrick White. Brooklyn Nets Needs: It's shaping up to be a busy offseason for the Nets, who are loaded with salary cap space to go after some veteran players. But they entered the draft with a need for offensive creativity, firepower, and rebounding. Who they drafted: The Nets' picks had a very international flavor. After Demin, they added Nolan Traoré out of France at No. 19 and Germany's Ben Saraf at No. 26. They also received the rights to swingman Drake Powell, who was selected 22nd overall. The Nets ended their night by taking Michigan forward Danny Wolf at No. 27. NBA comparisons: Demin is a lengthy scorer like Chicago's Josh Giddey. Traoré's passing ability has shades of John Wall. Saraf's multi-faceted ability on the court is like that of Manu Ginóbili. Powell's game is reminiscent of Cleveland's Isaac Okoro, but with a lot more explosiveness. Wolf has been compared to Kelly Olynyk. Toronto Raptors Needs: The best available talent to team up with Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram, with the goal of getting the Raptors back into the playoffs for the first time in four seasons. Size or outside shooting were among several notable needs. Who they drafted: The Raptors took South Carolina sophomore Collin Murray-Boyles with the ninth pick. The 6-foot-7 forward is a physical defender and rebounder–he was one of five SEC players last season to average at least 15 points and five rebounds per game. Besides Jakob Poeltl, Toronto didn't have a dependable rim protector on the roster. Murray-Boyles might fit that bill. NBA comparisons: The ESPN broadcast of the draft noted the striking physical similarities shared by Murray-Boyles and four-time All-Star Draymond Green–their height, weight, and wingspan are virtually identical. While comparisons to an NBA Defensive Player of the Year may be tough to live up to, Murray-Boyles does offer a mix of the same skill set as Green, a shot-blocker and rebounder who can also pile up steals. Boston Celtics Needs: After trading Porziņģis in a move to get under the second luxury tax apron, and with Luke Kornet and Al Horford both free agents, Boston entered the draft in need of a big man. They also needed some guard depth after trading Holiday. Who they drafted: González from Spain's Real Madrid. NBA comparisons: González won't wow as a scorer, but he improved in each of his three seasons as a pro in Spain. He's been described in the mold of Miami Heat guard Jaime Jaquez Jr.
