Bridgeport ‘painting the city blue' ahead of Swim Across the Sound fundraiser
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — St. Vincent's Medical Center and the City of Bridgeport are turning the city blue this summer.
Wanted felon arrested in Bridgeport, charged with attempted murder
Mayor Joe Ganim and organizers from Swim Across the Sound unveiled the city's newest 'blue' street Monday to raise awareness for the Paint the City Blue banner fundraising campaign. The campaign allows people and businesses the opportunity to buy banners and support cancer patients.
The banners will be displayed from June through September across Bridgeport. The 38th annual Swim Across the Sound will be on Aug. 2.

Man still on the run, woman detained after overnight high speed chase in Tyler
TYLER, Texas (KETK)– A man is still on the run and a woman was detained after a high speed police chase early Tuesday morning in Tyler, officials said. According to the Smith County Sheriff's Office, a deputy was trying to make a traffic stop on a car near Loop 323 and Texas College Road early Tuesday morning when the driver drove off reaching speeds of 100 mph. The man slowed down the car in front of the Rose Valley Apartments and jumped out of the drivers side and ran through the complex but was not found, officials said. The sheriff's office said she jumped out of the car and was detained but suffered from abrasions, scrapes and broken teeth. Bunker, Missouri man dies in motorcycle crash on Highway 21
REYNOLDS COUNTY, Mo. – A Bunker, Missouri, motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon after striking a vehicle head-on while in a no-passing zone on Highway 21. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash occurred at 3:05 p.m. on Highway 21, two miles north of Ellington, involving a Honda VTX motorcycle and a Chevrolet Silverado. At-large murder suspect arrested after wild crash in north St. Louis The crash happened while the motorcyclist, a 52-year-old man from Bunker, was attempting to pass multiple vehicles in a no-passing zone. At some point while driving in the no-passing zone, the motorcyclist struck the Chevrolet Silverado head-on. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash, MSHP said. Motorcyclist dies after Portsmouth crash
PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WPRI) —A 36-year-old Middletown man has died several days after a motorcycle crash in Portsmouth. The man, identified Tuesday as Juan Pablo Garcia Castro, was involved in the crash around 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 5. ALSO READ: Bryant graduate killed in Johnston motorcycle crash According to police, Garcia Castro was riding north on West Main Road and turned onto Route 24 using the left lane. At the curve of the on-ramp, police said he changed lanes and hit the guardrail, causing him to be thrown from the motorcycle. Police said Garcia Castro was wearing a helmet, but he was unresponsive when first responders arrived. He was first taken to St. Anne's Hospital before being flown to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, where he died Monday. The crash remains under investigation.
