Tennis Fans Want Reporter Fired For 'Tacky' Carlos Alcaraz Question
Tennis Fans Want Reporter Fired For 'Tacky' Carlos Alcaraz Question originally appeared on The Spun.
With the 2025 Wimbledon Championships on the horizon, Carlos Alcaraz is trending because of his life off the court.

Earlier this month, Alcaraz asked Emma Raducanu to be his partner for mixed doubles at the US Open. She was more than willing to accept his offer. Once their partnership for the final Grand Slam tournament of the year was confirmed, fans started speculating about their connection.
That speculation only grew louder when Alcaraz and Raducanu were spotted practicing together at Wimbledon. Raducanu later revealed they were working on something with Evian since they're both ambassadors for the brand.
Despite their best efforts to keep the focus on tennis, Alcaraz and Raducanu haven't been able to dodge questions from the public.
On Saturday afternoon, Raducanu was asked about her dynamic with Alcaraz. An unidentified reporter was wondering if there's a potential romance brewing behind the scenes.

"There's been lots of chatter online about your friendship with Carlos," a reporter asked. "Is there any truth behind the rumors?"
Raducanu replied, "We're just good friends."

Raducanu handled this interaction with class, make no mistake about it. That doesn't change the fact that it was a ridiculous question.
In fact, some fans want this reporter to face consequences for this question.
"Tennis reporters should not ask such questions," one fan said.
"This is getting ridiculous," a second fan wrote.
"It is none of our business, leave them alone," a third fan commented.
"Tennis reporters are so unprofessional. Some reporters, especially those from the UK. It is yet another example of the circuits, particularly the @wta failing to monitor the press conferences and protect their players," an Instagram user wrote.

"Leave them alone and let it happen organically if you do like them as a couple. Tacky otherwise, but it's the media so what else is new," another social media user said.
As of now, the reporter hasn't apologized for their question about Alcaraz and Raducanu.
Hopefully, this bizarre situation doesn't become the top story at Wimbledon this upcoming week.

Couple marry at Glastonbury with cake they brought
A couple who got married at Glastonbury transported a wedding cake made by the bride nearly 250 miles (402km) to the ceremony. Charles and Charlie Shires, from Harrogate, had a "spiritual" hand-tying wedding in the festival's Healing Field on Thursday morning. A celebrant conducted the ceremony, which the couple attended after spending the night in a glamping site. Mrs Shires, 31, a baker, had a "blow-dry bus" to get her hair styled in, and after the wedding they partied in the BBC Introducing tent. "It was a brilliant day," said Mrs Shires. "I make birthday and wedding cakes for a living and I usually make buttercream, but I wanted a challenge to see if a white chocolate ganache would melt. "It survived!" The couple were joined by 15 friends who also got festival tickets for the occasion, but have planned "another wedding do closer to home" in the next few months to legalise their marriage. Mrs Shires, who has been to four previous Glastonbury festivals, wore old, comfy boots while Mr Shires, an aerial surveyor who has also been to the festival six times before, wore his walking boots. He said he "sadly" lost his jacket in a field. "It was the only thing we lost!" he said. The cake was kept in the couple's tent and fridges in the glamping site before it was taken to the Healing Field. The newlyweds have now returned to their "normal lives" in Harrogate and are likely to officially marry at a registry office later this year. Mrs Shires added that her wedding dress was "ruined, muddy and stained". Astros shortstop Jeremy Pena has a rib fracture and is headed to the injured list
Houston Astros' Jeremy Peña celebrates with teammates after hitting a home run during the fifth inning of a baseball game against the Los Angeles Angels, Sunday, June 22, 2025, in Anaheim, Calif. (AP Photo/William Liang) HOUSTON (AP) — Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Peña has a fractured rib and will be placed on the 10-day injured list. The team revealed the extent of the injury Monday, saying it was a small fracture in Peña's left rib cage. The IL move will be retroactive to Saturday. Advertisement Peña was hit in the ribs by a pitch from Chicago Cubs rookie right-hander Cade Horton in the second inning of the Astros' 7-4 victory on Friday. He didn't leave the game until the fifth, and the team said X-rays taken that night didn't reveal the fracture. An MRI and CT scan on Sunday revealed the fracture, according to the team. The 27-year-old Pena is having a breakout season, ranking fourth in the major leagues with a .322 batting average. He hit .361 in June. Pena will be with the team on a six-game road trip that starts Tuesday in Colorado, according to the Astros. A corresponding roster move will be made Tuesday, the team said. ___ AP MLB:
