NEW cars have become so expensive it hurts.
But don't worry, there are plenty of used ones out there almost as good – and less than half the price.

Here are five great five-year-old buys for £15k.
That age is a sweet spot because most new cars are bought on lease or other finance schemes, and used as company cars.
That means they spend their first three or even four years being maintained with money no object.
At the end of that lease, all faults are put right at the expense of the driver.
Give them a wash 'n' wax, maybe new tyres, and they're almost factory fresh.
After that it's only another short period in someone else's hands.
Once that owner moves on, you can scoop up a bargain.
Another thing.
The industry has recently got distracted by big dash screens, electrification and pointless connectivity.
So the fundamentals – safety, comfort, driver appeal – are no better in today's new cars than in these used ones.

THE top 10 fastest-selling motors last month have been revealed - and the car ranked in second place is somewhat surprising. Data from Motors shared this week showed that used examples of the evergreen Vauxhall Corsa were the quickest out of the door of dealerships across the country in May. 2 On average, a Corsa that's roughly six months to a year old stood on a forecourt for just 8.6 days before it was snapped up. The much-loved hatchback, which, on average costs between £11,000 and £14,000 second-hand, was followed, perhaps surprisingly, by the Ford Explorer in second place. Nearly-new examples of the pure-electric family SUV sold after 11.6 days on average - which the experts at Motors believing the Explorer's popularity was down to its 'keen pricing'.
