Love Island announces surprise recoupling as fans predict things will get 'very messy' after juicy spin the bottle challenge
Love Island has announced a shock recoupling as reeling fans predict things will get 'very messy' following the outcome.
The latest episode of the ITV dating show aired on Sunday night as the islanders were gathered around the fire pit.
Just before the credits rolled on another attention-grabbing episode, a text was sent into the TV villa by bosses.
It read: 'Islanders, tonight there will be a recoupling in which the girls will choose which boy they want to couple up with.'
A further text message said: 'Boys, please stand in front of the firepit.'
The tension was palpable as the girls started to consider their options, while the boys nervously gathered.
Following the shock news, Love Island fans have flooded social media as they speculated on the results which will air on Monday's episode.
One viewer said: 'This recoupling is about to be so f***ing messy because if Helena goes first then Toni can't pick Harrison.'
A second wrote: 'Noooo, that recoupling is going to be juicy.'
'It shouldn't have ended on a cliffhanger but probably means the aftermath of recoupling is chaos,' said a third fan.
Meanwhile, the dramatic ending comes after a game of Spin The Bottle saw the villa descend into chaos.
In the game, whoever the spinning bottle landed on had take a card which read either truth or dare. It was up to the Islanders to get creative and think about a truth or dare for that specific person.
Helena landed on a dare and Dejon dared her to kiss the person that she'd chose to recouple with, she kissed Harrison, little surprise after she broke things off with Harry.
Up next was Megan, who pulls a truth card, leading Harry to ask how she genuinely feels about Conor.
She told the group: 'Me and Conor got on from the start and that got cut short so I feel like there's unfinished business there, as you would say [Harry]'.
Elsewhere, fans were convinced one singleton had 'gone missing' and asked if they'd left the villa over their lack of screentime.
Alima Gagigo, 23, has seemingly been absent from the drama in recent days as her fellow villa residents lap up the spotlight.
Unimpressed fans took to X following the latest show as they begged bosses to feature more of Alima, with one calming she'd not actually spoken on screen for the last two episodes.
They fumed: 'Is Alima still in the villa?': 'Alima got 5 seconds of screen time and we are halfway through this episode': '2 episodes and I've not heard Alima's voice': 'Can we see Alima please': 'Wait where is Alima'.

Lana del Rey celebrates birthday with alligator tour guide hubby… as she teams up with surprise singer for tour
Singer Lana del Rey celebrated her 40th birthday over the weekend, with her husband Jeremy Dufrene and a few in-laws. The Summertime Sadness singer shared new snaps on her Instagram on Saturday, one of which showed her holding a pair of white cakes, surrounded by Dufrene and several in-laws, weeks after her subtle tribute to Dufrene at the 2025 Met Gala. She was wearing a strapless camo top and matching shorts with white knee-high socks and shoes in the first snap. Her husband Dufrene was behind her, donning a Ford trucker's cap, a matching camo shirt, green shorts and white sneakers. She was surrounded by a number of unnamed in-laws in the post, one of whom she seemingly shares a birthday with. The singer also took to Instagram over the weekend to reveal some of the opening acts on her upcoming tour, including actress/singer Addison Rae. 'Just a couple in-laws and a baby. Thank you for sharing your birthday with me cancer queen Phoenix,' she began. 'I'm still convinced I gotta be 50/50 Gemini tho, that would explain all three Lil vibes I got going on all the time,' she added. 'So excited to see everybody starting tomorrow on tour and for all the folks joining us. Truly thank you thank you love you,' she concluded. Del Ray also shared another snap of her in the passenger seat of a vehicle, with a gold bracelet visible on her left wrist., which didn't include a caption. She also took to Instagram to announce three opening acts for her UK and Ireland Tour. Del Rey will be joined by the group London Grammar for her June 23 show at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, UK. She will be joined by Banks during a trio of shows in Glasgow at Hamden Park on June 26, Liverpool at Anfield Stadium on June 28 and Dublin, Ireland at Aviva Stadium on June 30. For her final two shows, she'll be joined by Addison Rae on July 3 and 4 for a pair of shows at London's iconic Wembley Stadium. Lana and Jeremy exchanged vows by the water in Des Allemandes, Louisiana, last year at the same bayou where he operates his popular swamp tours. Lana first shared a photo with Jeremy after taking one of his tours from Arthur's Airboat Tours in Des Allemands, Louisiana back in 2019. After their initial meeting, they reconnected earlier in 2024 before tying the knot in late September last year in what sources described as a 'whirlwind' romance. 'It's been kind of a whirlwind romance, but Lana's close friends hoped she would get married,' the source said. 'Jeremy is different from the men that Lana meets in the entertainment world. He's a great guy,' the source added. 'He's charming and charismatic in a Southern way, very much a gentleman and he treats Lana really well. She's an old soul,' the source continued.

Fern Britton remembers working with Phillip Schofield ‘with fondness'
Schofield resigned from ITV in 2023 after admitting to an 'unwise but not illegal' affair with a much younger male colleague on This Morning. Britton, 67, presented the morning programme with Schofield for eight years before leaving in 2009. In an interview with Saga Magazine, Britton, speaking about Schofield stepping down from This Morning, said: 'It brought up a lot of mixed emotions. The years we worked together were mostly great fun and we were a very good partnership, which I can remember with fondness. 'I knew how much he loved his job and cared deeply for his public perception. It must have been a terribly difficult time for him and his family.' Britton also spoke about learning not to let others take advantage of her easy-going nature. 'I think I understand myself a bit better now, and can look back and see that I foolishly handed power to partners, bosses and colleagues, because I'm very easy-going and I never used to see around the corner and think, 'Oh hang on, they're actually manipulating me',' she said. While Britton may be best known for her years on daytime television, she has also built a career as a novelist. She has lived in Cornwall since splitting from TV chef Phil Vickery in 2020 after two decades of marriage. In her latest book, A Cornish Legacy, she draws on her life to explore themes of divorce, inheritance and the emotional weight of old houses. Talking about whether she would be open to finding new love, she told the magazine: 'I'm not averse to it but they'd have to be bloody spectacular. They have to make me laugh, they must be kind, and they must be honest.' Britton said she is now a regular at church, and talked about it giving her the 'nicest feeling'. She said: 'It's so important to feel useful. I've started regularly going to church, and honestly just helping make the coffees and the sandwiches in the church hall gives me the nicest feeling I've had for a long time.'
