Earlier today, the Defense and National Security Committee of the Libyan Parliament confirmed that the armed group's illegal storming of the General Intelligence Agency constitutes an attack on a sovereign information system and reflects a serious security breakdown. During a meeting highlighted by the Libyan News Agency, the committee stated that the capital, Tripoli, is effectively 'kidnapped,' with decisions not being made by official institutions. The committee emphasized that the Intelligence Agency belongs to no one individually; it is a national institution that must remain free from manipulation and political exploitation. It called for an immediate judicial investigation into the events in Tripoli. The committee, appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives to monitor developments in the security and humanitarian situation in Tripoli, held a meeting with the political office of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).

Amendments were also passed on several laws, including the Jordanian National Building Code, Regulation of the Surveying Profession, Real Estate Offices, Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Restructuring of Government Institutions and Departments, Civil Aviation, Customs, and Penal Code. According to the Jordanian Constitution, Parliament holds one ordinary session per solar year, lasting six months.
