Germany Launches Europe's Largest Green Hydrogen Facility

Israa Farhan
Germany is constructing Europe's largest green hydrogen facility, aiming to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide a sustainable chemical feedstock.
According to Oil Price, the project has the potential to cut emissions by up to 72,000 metric tons annually.
However, the green hydrogen sector
continues
to face challenges, including high production costs, insufficient offtake agreements, and the need for stronger policy support.
While green hydrogen is widely considered a key element in the transition to clean energy, debates persist over whether it is the most efficient use of renewable resources.
Germany's latest initiative reinforces its commitment to sustainable energy solutions and its ambition to lead Europe's hydrogen economy.

Israeli activists to protest for Gaza on Eid al-Adha

The Israeli 'Civilian Ploughmen's Movement' (HaMa'an HaEzrahi) issued a statement calling for a demonstration on the first day of Eid al-Adha in support of the Gaza Strip. The movement stated: 'On Friday, June 6th, the first day of Eid al-Adha, we will demonstrate together, walking towards the Gaza border in white attire, carrying food in our hands, to say clearly: Enough. We cannot stand silent before the suffering of two million people and abandon the captives.' They added: 'Eid al-Adha is a holiday founded on the values of giving, compassion, and responsibility towards others. In this spirit, we call for genuine solidarity that transcends fear and incitement, and believes in every human being's right to life and dignity.' The movement continued: 'Siege and starvation protect no one. War does not bring security nor does it return the captives. The time has come to raise a humane, civilian, and responsible voice for an end to bloodshed, the breaking of the siege, the return of the captives, and the finding of a just and sustainable solution.' The movement announced that they will gather at 12:00 PM on Street 232 at the roundabout leading to Observation Hill, and walk towards the Wurmlingen Forest and Sands. They also noted that at the end of the march, food would be transported to displaced people in the West Bank through 'Rabbis for Human Rights.' The movement concluded by stating that the call to demonstrate is for everyone who believes in peace, justice, and coexistence.
