(File pic) PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Court will deliver its verdict tomorrow on the final appeals by six men convicted and sentenced to death for the 2015 murder of deputy public prosecutor Kevin Morais. The decision will be handed down by a three-member bench led by Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, sitting with Court of Appeal president Abang Iskandar Abang Hashim and Federal Court judge Rhodzariah Bujang. The judges reserved their judgment on May 14, after hearing submissions from the prosecution and defence. Jasmine Cheong, one of the lawyers representing former pathologist Dr R Kunaseegaran, told Bernama that the court notified them of the date for the decision this morning. Kunaseegaran, 62, was convicted of Morais's murder in July 2020 by the Kuala Lumpur High Court, together with S Ravi Chandran, 54; R Dinishwaran, 33; AK Thinesh Kumar, 32; M Vishwanath, 35; and S Nimalan, 32. The Court of Appeal upheld their convictions on March 14 last year. The murder took place somewhere along Jalan Dutamas Raya Sentul and Jalan USJ 1/6D, Subang Jaya, between 7am and 8pm on Sept 4, 2015. Morais was last seen in a Proton Perdana, leaving his Menara Duta condominium in Kuala Lumpur for his office at the Attorney-General's Chambers in Putrajaya. His body was found in a concrete-filled drum at Persiaran Subang Mewah, Subang Jaya, on Sept 16, 2015. * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news? Police hunt Myanmar national after fatal stabbing in Jalan Ipoh

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have launched a manhunt for a Myanmar national believed to have killed his co-worker after an argument at a scrap metal shop in Jalan 1/18B, Kampung Batu, Off Jalan Ipoh, here on Sunday. Sentul police chief ACP Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari said that they are also in the process of recording statements from five identified witnesses in the case, comprising the premises owner, co-workers, and the victim's family. "Preliminary investigations found that the victim died from stab wounds, and police also found a knife at the scene, but it has not yet been confirmed whether it was the knife used to stab the victim," he said when contacted yesterday. Earlier, police reportedly received an emergency call from the premises owner at 11.33pm on Sunday, informing them of a fight between two of his workers – the victim, a 37-year-old local man, and a Myanmar national – while they were drinking at the scrap metal shop. Preliminary police checks at the scene found the victim shirtless and holding a machete in his left hand, with injuries to his right shoulder, left side of the head, neck, left chin, and a puncture wound on the shoulder. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.— BERNAMA

(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : Police arrested three foreigners and seized hundreds of fake firearms in a raid on a terrace house in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, this afternoon. Bukit Aman internal security and public order department (wildlife crime bureau/special investigation intelligence) deputy director Zairulnizam Zainuddin said they included Walther P99 pistols, M4 Carbines and Colt AR-15s, Bernama reported. Police also seized fake Heckler and Koch MP5 rifles, CZ, Glock 17, Sand Viper and Browning pistols. Ball-bearing crossbows and spear guns were also seized. The fake firearms were stored at the house for repackaging before being sold openly on social media platforms. Zairulnizam said they were looking into the market prices and the actual quantity of fake firearms seized today. The three suspects detained, aged 35 to 45, included a woman. Several other locations in Selangor and Johor were also raided. Zairulnizam advised social media administrators to monitor sales activities on their platforms. He said police would urge the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to take stern action if sales of such banned items are found on social media.

10 Palestinians Martyred In Israeli Air Strike On Aid Warehouse In Gaza City

GAZA, June 30 (Bernama-QNA) -- At least ten Palestinians were martyred on Monday morning after Israeli warplanes targeted an aid distribution warehouse in the Al-Zaytoun neighbourhood, south of Gaza City, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported. According to UN reports, more than 550 Palestinians have been martyred while attempting to access food at Israeli-American aid distribution points. Since their establishment late last month, these sites have become deadly zones, described by rights groups and observers as 'mass killing traps' that also subject civilians to humiliation, forced displacement, and deepening humanitarian despair.
