Kuberaa box office collection day 4: Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna's film fails Monday test, drops to single digits

Sekhar Kammula's crime drama Kuberaa, starring Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nagarjuna, amassed a respectable opening weekend collection at the domestic box office. However, the Monday figures suggest that it won't be able to sustain the momentum it had over the first three days. On Monday, Kuberaa earned Rs 6.50 crore, which is even less than half of its opening day collection of Rs 14.75 crore. Over the weekend, it earned Rs 16.5 crore and Rs 17.35 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively. However, the massive drop in the figures on Monday suggests the film may be only going downhill now, till the next weekend arrives. As per Sacnilk, the current total domestic box office collection of Kuberaa stands at Rs 55.10 crore. It's passed the Rs 50 crore mark in India, but it'll be a tall order to breach the milestone of Rs 100 crore, given its current trajectory. The native Telugu version has the biggest chunk in the earnings, followed by the dubbed Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada versions respectively. In the Hindi market, Kuberaa has gone up against a formidable competitor in RS Prasanna's coming-of-age sports comedy Sitaare Zameen Par, starring Aamir Khan. That film, which has also released in the dubbed Telugu and Tamil versions, had already surpassed the Rs 50 crore mark in India over the opening weekend. Dhanush's last film, Raayan, an action thriller helmed by him last year, also witnessed a similar trajectory and earned almost Rs 55 crore after the first four days at the domestic box office. However, his period action adventure film from last year, Arun Matheshwaran's Captain Miller, had barely managed to cross the Rs 30 crore mark after the first four days at the Indian box office. As per the trailer of Kuberaa, Dhanush plays the role of a beggar mentored by Nagarjuna in the film. It opens with Dhanush posing a curious question about crores, hinting at his character's involvement in the game of money and power. Nagarjuna appears to be a man of influence who believes that the country is run only by 'money' and 'power,' and not by laws and rules. The trailer then unfolds the rising tensions between Nagarjuna, Jim Sarbh, and the government as they desperately try to track down Dhanush, who appears to hold the power to disrupt their game of money and greed. Rashmika Mandanna plays Dhanush's love interest, who warns him about the unshakable control of the rich and powerful. The music is provided by Devi Sri Prasad. Kammula has previously helmed films like Dollar Dreams, Anand, and Happy Days. The film also features Jim Sarbh, who made his debut in South Indian films.
