Kate Middleton's Facial Expressions Were Prince Louis-Level at Yesterday's Outing
Prince Louis has won the hearts of royal fans with his cheeky moments and meme-worthy expressions at several public events. For instance, during his grandad's coronation ceremony in 2023, he stole the show with his silly antics. Then, during last year's Trooping the Colour, he showed off his dance moves and made funny faces while joining his family on the palace balcony. Once again, the young royal entertained fans with his playful personality when he attended the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. And now, his mom is following suit.
This week, Princess Catherine joined her husband, Prince William, at the official naming ceremony of the HMS Glasgow. On Instagram, the couple shared highlights from the event and wrote, "Everything is looking ship shape! A pleasure to meet with members of the Ship's Company and their families, as well as BAE Systems' Shipbuilding Academy apprentices and graduates, and some of the incredibly skillful teams involved in the building of the ship."
Per usual, the princess looked stunning in her navy and white ensemble, but I couldn't help but notice that she was much more expressive during the royal outing.
For example, after boarding the ship, the princess was quite animated as she spoke with team members, using hand gestures and speaking with raised eyebrows. Also, in one standout photo, the princess is captured in the middle of a friendly pipe-building competition with her husband.
Towards the end, when the royal mom is declared the winner, her piece begins to fall apart—and her facial expression is priceless.

We've probably said this before, but June feels like the start of the summer concert season. There are hints of it that start in May, but it's clear that things are truly getting underway this week with the kickoff of outdoor shows at The Ledge Amphitheater, the arrival of the Twin Cities first big summer music festival, and a cities-wide celebration of Prince. Here are the concerts you shouldn't miss this week around the Twin Cities. Tuesday, June 3, at Turf Club Peelander-Z is an experience. They're the kind of band where some fans might not even listen to the albums, but never miss a live performance. Their shows are uncontrolled chaos that might feature costumed dancers, a giant squid, human-sized bowling, and ballistic energy from Peelander-Yellow. (Every member is named after a color that they almost exclusively wear.) There's really nothing quite like Peelander-Z and the group's high-energy, tongue-in-cheek punk songs. Over at Zhora Darling, the six-piece, L.A.-based Dutch Interior arrives just after the release of Moneyball, packed with modern Americana songs that feel somehow distant from the label. Despite having six members — who have all been lifelong friends — the music is sparse, almost low-fi, and has an undercurrent of quiet punk energy. Poor Image and Harlow open. Thursday, June 5–Sunday, June 8, at various locations Paisley Park's annual celebration of Prince returns for four days of events that start on Thursday with a dance party featuring a Transmission tribute to Prince at First Avenue. The big attraction is a Friday night concert at Paisley Park that includes Morris Day and the Time, as well as The Family, a group that only released a single 1985 album co-produced by Prince. (That album features the original recording of "Nothing Compares 2 U.") However, they reformed in 2011 as fDeluxe. Many other events are taking place at Paisley Park and around Downtown Minneapolis. Though the tickets don't come cheap. General admission passes for the full weekend cost $752.75. Meanwhile, a single-event ticket for the Friday concert will run you $109.75. Friday, June 6, at First Avenue Cue debates about whether or not Samia Finnerty will count as a local artist. (Minnesotans love to adopt artists, so the answer will be "yes.") Finnerty, who performs as just Samia, moved relocated to the Twin Cities relative recently, partly recording her new album, Bloodless in the state. Samia hits her stride on Bloodless, with seamless indie-pop songwriting that has an appealingly dark streak. That's clear right from the outset on the song "Bovine Excision" (look that up if haven't just eaten), which includes lyrics like "picking leeches off white underwear" and "I just wanted to be your friend / cup of tea in your cold hand / and drained, drained bloodless." Friday, June 6–Saturday, June 7, at Allianz Field Festival Grounds For a second year, the Breakaway Music Fest, which is held in a bunch of cities around the country, is making a stop in St. Paul. The EDM fest's 2025 lineup includes some big names in electronic dance music like John Summit, Tiësto, and Alison Wonderland. It'll be a bass-heavy, two-day dance party around the parking lot of Allianz Field. However, this year, EDM fans are going to have to make a tough call. Breakaway is happening on the same two days as the inauguralFestival in Cadott, Wis. The alien-themed fest has a similarly deep lineup, headlined by Marshmello, Rezz, Liquid Stranger, and RL June 8, at The Ledge Amphitheater Alison Krauss and Union Station are touring together for the first time since 2015. That's cause for celebration among folk and bluegrass lovers, as is the release of their first new album since 2011's Paper Airplane. They're arrival is also the kickoff of an impressive summer season at The Ledge Amphitheater in Waite Park. Alison Krauss and Union Station will follow Sunday's show with two more performances in Minnesota. They'll play Mankato's Vetter Stone Amphitheater on June 10 and Duluth's Bayfront Festival Park on June 11. Russell Moore opens. Sunday, June 8, at Surly Festival Field The pop-folk group just released their first new music since 2022, with the EP Somewhere. It's a gentle album that falls neatly in line with what has led the band to an arguably quiet popularity. The Ohio group has billions of streams and millions of monthly listeners. That might not offer any insight into their catchy, emotional songs, but if you haven't given their records a spin and are wondering how they're headlining a huge outdoor venue, well, there you go. Meghan Markle's Neighbors Slam Her as ‘Distant'—She Doesn't ‘Fit in' Compared to ‘Charming' Prince Harry

But there's also the fact that the British royal family is going through some tough times, with King Charles sick, succession plans in place, and Prince Harry feuding with both his father and his brother, Prince William. Throw on top of that constant rumors about the state of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's marriage, and there's always something to talk about. Their marriage appears to be quite well, with Markle herself dispelling rumors on a recent podcast appearance, saying about Prince Harry, 'He's such a great partner. I feel that every day in how supportive he's been and is,' and adding, 'That man loves me so much and, you know, look what we've built. We've built a beautiful life, and we have two healthy, beautiful children.' But rumors about Markle's supposed problematic behavior have plagued Markle for years, and now comes a new report from a neighbor of hers in Montecito, claiming she doesn't really fit in. Richard Mineards, who lives in the area, spoke to the Daily Mail about Markle allegedly turning away a local elderly historian who wanted to gift her a copy of his documentary about the area when she and Prince Harry first moved in. 'The old man never got past the gate,' Mineards said, citing it as an example of Markle being distant. 'She pays attention to every appearance, every word, every gesture,' Mineards said. 'And here in Montecito, we appreciate simple people, even famous ones.' 'Meghan doesn't play the community game,' he claimed, adding that she's 'never tried to fit in.' Meanwhile, the man had nothing but praise for Prince Harry, who, one would think, because of his upbringing, wouldn't be as good at getting along with his neighbors. 'He is always charming, approachable, with that very recognizable Windsor accent. He smiles, shakes hands, willingly exchanges a few words,' Mineards told the ourlet. 'We've seen him at the beach, in an organic coffee shop, or cycling in the hills.' Basically, Prince Harry has translated the public politeness of the royal family to his new community. This comes on the heels of British journalist Tom Quinn claiming Markle had earned the nickname 'Duchess of Difficult' before she and Prince Harry stepped away from their royal duties. 'She could be difficult because she was finding life difficult — trying to feel her way and work out the intricacies of a positively medieval, labyrinthine system,' an anonymous palace staff reportedly told Quinn. Recent reports also indicate that Meghan Markle 'berated' one of her wedding caterers so badly that the late Queen Elizabeth II had to intervene, according to royal biographer Katie Nicholl. However, all of these reports are coming from the same people who have criticized Meghan Markle from the beginning, and who Prince Harry has denounced were part of a campaign against her. The same Tom Quinn, for example, spoke about Markle's relationship with Kate Middleton in his book and wrote that the media blew the issues between the two out of proportion before the wedding, and there was no bullying involved. 'Whenever this sort of thing happens in the royal family, traditionally no one says anything publicly about it, so it rarely reaches the media, but on this occasion, all sorts of other grievances meant that what was really nothing but a storm in a teacup reached the media and became a big issue. I can tell you that all the papers and commentators got this wrong, the truth is that as with many of these spats between sisters, brothers or even sisters-in-law, both sides were really upset,' Quinn said. Princess Kate Was Mistaken for Prince William's Assistant—& Her Response Deserves a Crown
Since their marriage in 2011, Prince William and Princess Catherine have been inseparable. They've embarked on numerous tours around the world, in addition to extensive charity work in the United Kingdom. The pair, known to be quite affable, showed their humorous side in a recently resurfaced quip during a 2020 trip to Cardiff. In particular, it was Princess Catherine who came in with a lighthearted line in response to an innocent misidentification. There, they reunited with Joan Drew-Smith (pictured above), a resident who had previously participated in an online bingo event the prince and princess had hosted. Per Hello!, after reuniting, Prince William said to Drew-Smith, "Hello Joan, do you remember we did the bingo with you? You said we weren't very good!" "Yes. Ever graceful, Princess Catherine laughed and said, ""Well I am your assistant! I have been for a long time!" as she affectionately put a hand on her husband's shoulder. The now-Prince of Wales was far from offended, later remarking, "I love Joan, she's brilliant. If only everyone was as honest as her."
