Qabil Irfan clinches podium at ESBK Talent Aragon in Spain
MALAYSIAN young gun Qabil Irfan Azlan delivered an impressive performance today, securing a podium finish in Race 2 of the ESBK Talent series at the Aragon Circuit, Spain.
The 13-year-old, starting from second on the grid, narrowly missed victory by just 0.018 seconds behind Italy's Alessio Arnold of Team Fullmoto Squadra Corse.
Enzo Zaragoza from Aspar KBS Technical Academy completed the top three.
Qabil's strong showing comes after a near-miss in Race 1 yesterday, where he was overtaken in the closing stages.
The ESBK championship now heads to Navarra Circuit for its fourth round from July 17 to 20, offering another chance for the rising Malaysian star to shine.

KUCHING (June 30): Sarawak's diving talents made waves on the regional stage, powering Malaysia to the top of the medal standings at the 47th Southeast Asian Age Group Diving Championships. In the senior boys' Group A category, Jared Aiden Harold added a gold in platform and a silver in the 3m springboard while Muhd Lutfir Rahman Mohd Razak earned a silver in the 1m springboard. Sisters Nurul Farisya Alia Affendi and Nur Aryna Balqis Affendi were also standout performers. Nurul Farisya struck gold in the Group A synchronised platform and silver in the individual platform, while younger sister Nur Aryna dominated Group C with two golds in the platform and 3m springboard. Sarawak divers also won two events in girls' Group C with Fabiana Anderianna Brook winning in the platform and Nur Ikmas Ikeram in the 1m springboard. Sarjit Singh not solely to blame for Speedy Tigers' Nations Cup failure
MALAYSIAN Hockey Confederation (MHC) president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal has dismissed calls to pin the blame solely on head coach Sarjit Singh after the national men's hockey team failed to reach the semi-finals of the FIH 2025 Nations Cup Hockey Tournament. Subahan stressed that responsibility should be shared across the entire squad, including players, following their inability to progress beyond the group stage. The Speedy Tigers finished outside the top five after a 1-2 defeat to Wales in the fifth-place playoff. 'To be honest, I have been in this sport for a long time and I see that the Malaysian team under Sarjit can play.
