Meet Britain's 'smartest' siblings from London who joined Mensa aged 10 and 11
Meet Britain's 'smartest' siblings - who have a combined IQ of 314 and were accepted into Mensa at the age of 10 and 11.
Twins Krish and Keira Arora, from Hounslow, London, became members of the highly exclusive society just six months apart.
Krish took the IQ test in November at the age of 10, after he was inspired by his role model Young Sheldon - the main character in the Big Bang prequel series.
He scored a mind-boggling 162 - a result which makes him smarter than Albert Einstein, who is believed to have had an IQ of 160.
Meanwhile, Keira decided she wanted to give the Mensa admission a go after seeing that her brother had been accepted.

She became a member this May at the age of 11, thanks to her impressive score of 152.
Only people with IQs in the top 2% of the global population qualify for Mensa.
Krish said: "I was ecstatic when I got my result. Really, really happy."
Keira added: "I wanted to try the test once Krish got his results. I felt a bit of pressure but I was pleased when I did it."
Krish is a maths whizz and recently taught himself the Year 9 syllabus in just 22 days, despite only being in Year 6.
In his spare time, he enjoys robotics and coding, and reached Grade 8 piano after just two years of playing.

Keira on the other hand loves English, poetry, and music - and is the lead singer of her school band.
At the age of 11, her favourite book is Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre - and she recently wrote a poem from the perspective of an AI tool.
Krish said: "My maths teacher gave me the syllabus for Key Stage 3 and I taught myself.
"I don't want to go too far ahead though, such as into GCSEs and A-levels, because I want to stay with my friends."
Keira agreed. She said: "I don't find school academically challenging, but I still enjoy going as I get to spend time with my friends."
The genius duo will in September be starting secondary school, with Krish headed off to elite grammar school Queen Elizabeth's and Keira beginning her studies at highly-selective Tiffin Girl's School.

Keira said: "I'm a bit scared because I've always been with Krish. But I'm also a bit relieved because it gets a little competitive."
Although they are only just starting Year 7, Krish and Keira already have big plans for their futures.
Krish said: "I want to study maths at Cambridge and then do something maths-related, like an actuary."
Keira said: "I want to study English and Law at Oxford, and then become a commercial lawyer.
"I think it will suit me because I'm good at negotiating, like with Krish over the TV remote."
Parents Mauli and Nischal, who between them have degrees in computer science, electrical engineering, and business administration, admitted that there were some early signs of the twins' intelligence.

Mum Mauli, who is a senior manager at an IT company, said: "We noticed earlier with Krish. His reading speed was far beyond his age and his spelling was very accurate.
"When we'd put on YouTube for him, he'd be watching maths tutorials - and by the age of four he was doing complex divisions.
"He also had a lot of patience. It's rare for a four-year-old to sit still and do maths equations for half an hour.
"With Keira, she was such a lively and playful child that we didn't really notice until later.
"But with her 11+ exams, we noticed her approach to complex questions - and then she started getting feedback on her writing.
"Teachers say she already writes like an author. She puts such emotion into her stories. It's well beyond her age."
Mauli said that she and dad Nischal, who used to be a management consultant but is now a private landlord, are very proud of their kids - although admittedly a little shocked by how everything has unfolded.
She said: "We're quite speechless a lot of the time about everything.
"It does put pressure on us as parents as we want to make sure we keep exposing them to things that interest them.
"But it's amazing for them as when we took them to their Mensa exam, they were the only kids. Everyone else was an adult.
"No one else in the family is a member of Mensa - and we're not interested in taking the test.

"I'm not as brave as Keira was - trying after Krish got accepted."
This July, Krish and Keira are heading to their first Mensa event - where they have been invited to meet with various admissions officers from Oxford and Cambridge University.
Their other summer plans include games of chess and monopoly, which they admit get a bit "competitive", as well as a rewatch of their favourite film - the 'twin classic' The Parent Trap.

Picture: Ex-Man United star Scott McTominay shows his class with heartfelt tribute to retiring Jonny Evans
Picture: Ex-Man United star Scott McTominay shows his class with heartfelt tribute to retiring Jonny Evans Former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay sent a touching message to Jonny Evans as he retires from professional football. Evans decided to finally call it a day, following the expiry of his contract with United. Advertisement He won three Premier League titles, the Champions League, FA Cup and two League Cups with United. Evans also won the FA Cup with Leicester City. The 37-year-old won 107 caps for Northern Ireland and is widely considered one of his country's greatest ever players. Evans enjoyed two spells at Old Trafford, having come through the club's esteemed youth system. He lined up for the Red Devils' senior team between 2006 to 2015 before he left and joined West Brom. After West Brom, Evans signed for Leicester and then returned to United in 2023. He initially went back to United on a short-term deal during their pre-season build-up and in the process, earned himself a one-year deal before he signed a fresh extension, which expired this summer. Advertisement Evans played for the last time on Friday, during United's 3-1 comeback win over Hong Kong. McTominay likely got to know Evans better during the latter's second stint at United, as they shared the dressing room for a year before McTominay made his move to Napoli. Earlier on Sunday, McTominay wrote on Instagram, 'You are one of the best players, characters and professionals I have had the pleasure to play alongside.' 'Very fortunate to share some amazing memories with you.' 'An incredible career and I wish you nothing but the best in your retirement. (Other than when we play golf).' It's evident that Evans left a lasting impression on McTominay. Feature image Francesco Pecoraro via Getty Images Follow us on Bluesky: @

Cllr Tracy Kelly to become DUP's first female Belfast lord mayor
South Belfast councillor Tracy Kelly is set to become the city's first female lord mayor from the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). She is expected to be voted into the top position in Belfast at a council meeting on Monday night. It will make her the second female unionist to become the city's lord mayor. The late Grace Bannister held the position in 1981, and there is a footbridge in east Belfast named in her honour. The next deputy lord mayor is set to be west Belfast councillor Paul Doherty of the Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP). Kelly, 47, is from the Donegall Road area of south Belfast and used to work in community development, which sparked her interest in politics. She is currently office manager at the DUP constituency office of MLA Edwin Poots, who is the speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly. She previously worked for MLA Christopher Stalford, who died suddenly three years ago, aged 39. He had encouraged her to become involved in politics, and she was first elected to the council in 2019. "He asked me to run in that election," she told BBC News NI. "Him and constituents pressurised me into running in the 2019 election. I never thought I would ever sit in city council - never mind be lord mayor." The DUP has held the position of lord mayor in Belfast nine times, and among those to wear the chain of office were Nigel Dodds, Sammy Wilson and current party leader Gavin Robinson. Asked about being the first female from the party in the role, Kelly said: "I feel very privileged to be the first female. Women are now taking more and more leadership roles." She pointed out that the DUP has already had a female leader, Arlene Foster, who became first minister, and Emma Little-Pengelly is the current deputy first minister. Looking ahead to her year in office, she said: "My aim as lord mayor is to ensure that nobody is left behind. "Over the years Belfast has evolved and changed dramatically, since the Troubles especially. "But there's communities out there that are disengaged from the city centre, they don't feel part of this change. "And there's also young people who are disengaged from education, employment and training. I want to reach out to them." Away from politics, Kelly is a football fan and supports Linfield and Liverpool. The outgoing lord mayor is Micky Murray of the Alliance Party, who described himself as the first "openly gay" first citizen in Belfast.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Charters New Chapter In The United Kingdom
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is exporting a Black American tradition to the U.K. It officially charted the first AKA chapter in the country, which will be known as Alpha Delta Alpha Omega Chapter, on Friday. It is the 19th chapter of AKA's international mission. Technically, there was a precursor to the AKA's presence in London with the former Tau Sigma Omega Chapter, which was dissolved in 2006. AKA inaugurated the new chapter in London on Friday. Alpha Delta Alpha Omega Chapter includes 25 professional women who work in fields like real estate, finance, medicine and business. 'History has been made across the pond!' the sorority wrote in an Instagram post. 'Congratulations to the charter members of Alpha Delta Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® on your official chartering in London, United Kingdom!' Before its official induction, the interest group was titled the Royal Pearl Society. They have been working with local organizations to help communities in need this past year, according to Watch the Yard. The group spearheaded initiatives such as the distribution of 350 Childhood Hunger Power Packs, assembling over 200 Blessing Bags, organizing an eight-week entrepreneurship training program for women, investing over £3,000 in Black-owned businesses and volunteering over 200 hours. 'These women are already making an enormous difference in and around London,' Carrie J. Clark, AKA's International Regional Director. 'They are an amazing group of servant leaders who I am confident will expand Alpha Kappa Alpha's legacy of service in the Greater London area for years to come.' Alpha Delta Alpha Omega Chapter will keep focusing on similar initiatives after its official induction. They plan on organizing activities like distributing children's books by Black authors, as well as collecting professional attire for women re-entering the workforce. Although sororities are an American tradition, AKA established international chapters early on, according to their website. The first one to be established overseas was the AKA chapter in Liberia, which was chartered in 1954. AKA then opened another international chapter in Nassau, Bahamas, in 1963, in the U. S. Virgin Islands in 1978, and in Germany a year later. Other countries with international chapters include Japan, South Korea, Canada, South Africa and more. The sorority has led global initiatives like efforts to reduce poverty in sub-Saharan African countries, building schools in South Africa after apartheid and service missions to support women and children in Liberia. The organization now counts over 365,000 members across 13 countries and post Alpha Kappa Alpha Charters New Chapter In The United Kingdom appeared first on Blavity.
