WA high school teacher charged with sex crimes involving young children

A 33-year-old man who is believed to be a teacher at Archbishop Murphy High School (AMHS) in Everett was recently charged with two counts of sex crimes involving young children.
According to King County court records, prosecutors filed charges against the suspect, including dealing in depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and possession of similar content between January 16, 2024 and July 16, 2024. King County Jail records show the suspect is being held on $250,000 bail, and is awaiting trial.

According to King County court records, some of the victims may have been as young as infants.
Searches on social media revealed the suspect listed his occupation as a teacher. On Facebook, he said he lives in King County. On LinkedIn, he said he's been a teacher at AMHS for one year and seven months.
However, while a web search for the suspect revealed he was a teacher at AMHS, he did not appear on the school's faculty website page. According to multiple sources, the suspect 'disappeared' from the school last week, and students and staff did not know where he was.
Court records showed details of the images and depictions obtained by investigators are disturbing. Prosecutors describe many images as depicting children and sexual intercourse, masturbation, penetration, urination, defecation and sadomasochistic abuse.

KIRO Newsradio has contacted AMHS and the Archdiocese of Seattle. Neither have responded, as of this reporting.

Spokane County replaces aging aircraft with $3.4M helicopter upgrade
This story was originally published on The Spokane County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) unveiled its new $3.4 million Bell 505 helicopter at Felts Field Wednesday afternoon. The new helicopter will replace two 55-year-old aircraft that have been retired from the force after decades of service, according to the sheriff's office. 'Its advanced technology will improve our ability to combat rising auto thefts and conduct safer operations, including searches for missing children, Alzheimer's patie nts, and outdoor recreationists,' Ellis said, according to SCSD. The helicopter can reach a top speed of 125 knots per hour (kts) and a hover ceiling of 14,450 feet, according to BellFlight. SCSO fully equipped the helicopter with upgraded technology such as thermal imaging cameras and a live-stream video feed. The sheriff's office received a $500,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, a $200,000 state grant for the thermal imaging cameras, $1.6 million from Spokane County, and raised money from the sale of an older SCSO helicopter, according to The Spokesman-Review. 'It's unbelievable how clear of an image they can get if they wanted to do surveillance over somebody that was a really bad guy. They could fly over at 7,000 feet and read the license plate,' John Preston, retired LAPD officer, said, according to The Spokesman-Review.

Kewaunee PD seeking suspects allegedly involved in vehicle theft on 2nd Street
KEWAUNEE, Wis. (WFRV) – Officers with the Kewaunee Police Department say they are looking for information or camera footage of two car theft suspects near 2nd Street around 1 a.m. on Sunday. According to a Facebook post, the Kewaunee Police Department states that a vehicle was stolen off of 2nd Street around 12:50 a.m. on June 8. Officers described the two suspects as younger males, one with a white sweatshirt wearing a backpack and one with a blue/black sweatshirt, both with hoods pulled over their heads. Fond du Lac officers investigating shots fired incident near Parish School Apartments The suspects were also seen on 1st Street, Lincoln Street, and in the alley west of 1st Street. Officers are asking anyone with information or camera footage of the suspects to come forward. It was noted that the stolen car was found in a parking lot on Juneau Street and Miller Street. Fraudster on the run after absconding from prison
Police are searching for a convict who has absconded from an open prison in Derbyshire. Derbyshire Police said Paul Haughey left HMP Sudbury, near Ashbourne, between 11:00 BST and midday on Sunday. The force described the 40-year-old, who was serving a nine-month sentence for fraud and theft offences, as white, about 5ft 9in (1.75m) tall, of medium build, with grey hair. He was last seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a dark grey lightweight bomber jacket and black trainers, officers said. Anyone who sees the prisoner is urged to call the police.
