No AC Inside Air India Express Flight For 5 Hours In Dubai: Passengers

Passengers have complained that they were made to sit inside an Air India Express aircraft without air-conditioning for five hours amid the heat in Dubai airport.
The plane had faced some technical issue, due to which the airline delayed the take-off by five hours on June 13.
The Air India Express flight IX 196 was flying from Dubai to Rajasthan's Jaipur.
In visuals shared by passengers, people including elderly and children were seen sweating and sitting uncomfortably without AC.
The outside temperature was nearly 40 degree Celsius, the passengers said. The flight which was scheduled to take off at 7.25 pm finally took off at 12.45 am.
The passengers alleged some elderly people complained of deteriorating health conditions due to the heat inside the cabin. They also alleged enough water was not offered to the passengers.
They have demanded accountability from the airline's management and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Air India Express has not given a statement on the matter yet.

Shimla, Thunderstorms accompanied with rain and gusty winds lashed several parts of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday causing drop in maximum temperatures while minimum temperatures stayed above normal in most parts of the state, the weather office said. The local meteorological centre has issued yellow warning of thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds speed of 40 to 50 kilometre per hour at isolated places in all ten non-tribal districts from June 16 to 19 and for heavy rains at isolated places from June 20 to 21. It also predicted light to moderate rainfall at a few places from June 16 to 19. The sky remained heavily overcast in the state capital Shimla and thunderstorms followed by sharp showers lashed Shimla and adjoining areas, the Met said. Scattered rains were recorded across the state with Kangra being the wettest logging 34 mm rains, followed by 16 mm in Dharamshala, 7 mm each in Shimla and Kufri, 4 mm each in Chamba and Mandi along with 3.5 mm in Manali. The maximum temperatures dropped by two to four degrees across the state with Una being the hottest recording a high of 39.8 degrees Celsius against a 42.2 degrees Celsius on Saturday, the weather department said. Meanwhile, Neri recorded a high of 39 degrees Celsius and Sundernagar registered a 37.2 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperatures are likely to fall gradually by four to five degrees and minimum temperatures by two to three degrees over parts of the state during the next four to five days, the MeT centre added. Kukumseri was coldest in the state with a low of 9.2 degrees Celsius while Neri recorded a minimum temperature of 28.1 degrees Celsius, followed by 27.2 degrees Celsius in Dhaulakuan, 27 degrees Celsius in Paonta Sahib and 26.4 degrees Celsius in Hamirpur.

Southwest monsoon to advance over Gujarat, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Odisha in next 24 hours: IMD
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast further progress of the southwest monsoon. In the next 24 hours, it is expected to advance into parts of Gujarat, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. Over the following three days, it is likely to spread to parts of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, and East Uttar Pradesh. The southwest monsoon, crucial for kharif agriculture, has already covered southern states, north eastern states and some parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. There is good news for residents of northwest India who have been reeling under severe heat. The IMD has forecast a significant dip in maximum temperatures—by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius—over the region in the next 24 hours. Central India, on the other hand, will see little change in daytime temperatures for now, followed by a gradual drop of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over the subsequent five days. On Saturday, Churu in Rajasthan recorded a searing maximum of 46.5°C. Many parts of East Uttar Pradesh, North Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh continued to witness scorching conditions with temperatures in the 42–46°C range. Amid strong winds and heavy rain activity, the IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into the sea from 15 to 20 June. Extremely heavy rainfall—over 20 cm in 24 hours—is forecast at isolated spots in Konkan and Goa on 15 and 16 June, suggesting an intense monsoon spell. From 15 to 20 June, light to moderate rainfall is expected across a broad swathe of eastern and central India. Areas likely to be affected include the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. The weather is also expected to turn stormy in some places, with the IMD warning of possible thundersqualls over Jharkhand, West and East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Bihar on 15 and 16 June. The IMD has also forecast light to moderate rainfall over parts of northwest India between 15 and 21 June. These showers may be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds. Thundersquall activity is expected over Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan during this period. Additionally, isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Uttarakhand, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh through the week.
