The news comes in as her father and actor Suniel Shetty confirmed the news and shared, 'She said, 'Baba, I don't want to,' and she just left. And that's what I salute her for, saying, 'I'm not interested. I don't want to do films.' After Motichoor Chaknachoor, a lot came her way, but she said, 'I don't want to. I'm comfortable, you know?''
He added that Athiya chose to step away from the limelight to spend more time with her daughter and embrace a more private life.

Athiya Shetty made her acting debut in 2015 with Hero, produced by Salman Khan. Cast opposite Sooraj Pancholi, she played Radha Mathur, a DCP's daughter who falls in love with her kidnapper. While the film received mixed reviews. The soulful track O Khuda featuring her became a hit among the youth.
In 2017, she transitioned into comedy with Anees Bazmee's Mubarakan, playing Binkle Sandhu, a traditional Punjabi girl amidst a chaotic love triangle. The film did well at the box office and allowed Athiya to explore her comic timing alongside seasoned actors like Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor.
Her most critically noted role came in 2019 with Motichoor Chaknachoor, opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui. As Anita Awasthi, a small-town girl with big dreams of settling abroad, Athiya delivered a grounded performance. Though the film had a lukewarm box office response, her portrayal was appreciated for its authenticity and restraint.
Outside of films, Athiya also featured in the hit dance track Tere Naal Nachna in 2018, produced by Bhushan Kumar. Her confident screen presence and graceful moves added to her growing popularity.

Enrique Iglesias will deliver a career-spanning setlist encompassing both iconic standards and contemporary chart-toppers from his three-decade-plus career, the release further stated. He last toured the country in 2012 with his Euphoria World Tour, performing in Pune, Gurugram, and Bengaluru. In May, there were reports that Enrique Iglesias will perform in India soon. Back in 2019, Enrique had shared a video on Instagram, from his India trip. A reporter from a Mexican TV channel was already in the car interviewing the singer.

‘Housefull 5' box-office: Akshay Kumar comedy holds strong, netts ₹116.68 in India

Holding its momentum at the box-office, Tarun Mansukhani's Housefull 5 has netted ₹116.68 crore in Indian theatres in five days. The film has stolen a march on Sky Force and Kesari Chapter 2, two other Akshay Kumar releases from this year, to become the fourth-highest grossing Hindi film of 2025. Kumar appears to have bounced back after a dry spell in theatres. In Housefull 5, a franchise he has headlined since 2010 alongside Riteish Deshmukh, Kumar plays one of the three 'Jollys' implicated in a murder. The comedy caper, which also features Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez and others, piqued curiosity by offering two endings to the audience. The film was released in two versions — Housefull 5A & 5B — in theatres, each featuring a different killer in the climactic reveal. According to official numbers shared by the makers, Housefull 5 collected ₹11.70 crore on Tuesday and ₹13.15 crore on Monday. It made a killing over its first weekend, netting a collection of ₹91.83 crore in India. Housefull 5 also features Nana Patekar, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir. Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Dutt appear in special cameos, as does Bobby Deol. The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
