One person hurt after car crashes into Everett business
The Everett Fire Department says an 80-year-old man was hurt after crashing their car into Althea's Footwear.
It happened Sunday around 3:00 p.m. on Broadway.
Firefighters say the car was headed north when the driver crossed into oncoming traffic, hit a light pole, and went through the south wall of the business.
The business was closed at the time of the crash.
Firefighters say the driver became trapped inside the car, so they had to use the 'Jaws of Life' to pull him out. It took crews almost an hour to free the man.
The driver was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center and is expected to be okay.
A structural engineer from Everett Public Works showed up to assess the safety of the building, and Snohomish PUD responded for the damaged light pole.
Northbound Broadway was closed during the incident.
The Everett Police Department is investigating the cause of the collision.

5 people hospitalized after vehicles ‘heavily damaged' in Spring Hill crash
SPRING HILL, Fla. (WFLA) — Five people were rushed to the hospital Tuesday following a two-car crash in Spring Hill. The crash happened just before 7 p.m. at the intersection of Mariner Blvd and Linden Drive, according to Hernando County Fire Rescue. Two people were still trapped inside a vehicle and had to be rescued using a tool known as the Jaws of Life, according to officials. A total of five people, including four who were listed as trauma alert patients, were taken to nearby hospitals and a trauma center. There was no further word on their conditions. Crash near Fort Drum claims life of Carthage man
FORT DRUM, N.Y. (WWTI) – A motor vehicle accident near Fort Drum over the weekend has claimed the life of a 54-year-old Carthage man. Fort Drum Emergency Services were called to a single-vehicle crash around 10:50 a.m. on State Route 26 (Fort Drum Road), near the overpass by the 10th Mountain Division Museum. Fort Drum to observe quiet hours on Memorial Day Emergency responders used the Jaws of Life to remove the sole occupant of the vehicle, Patrick Bevens Jr., and started life-saving measures. Bevens was transported to Carthage Area Hospital by Fort Drum ambulance, where he was pronounced deceased. State Route 26 was reduced to a single lane for around an hour due to the accident. Passenger airlifted by LifeFlight after serious Warwick crash
WARWICK, Mass. (WWLP) -A serious motor vehicle crash on Winchester Road in Warwick led to the extrication of a passenger, and LifeFlight. Warwick Fire Department members successfully used newly acquired Jaws of Life tools for the first time Friday evening, while responding to a serious motor vehicle crash on Winchester Road (Route 78) near Flower Hill Road. According to Warwick Fire, upon arrival, firefighters found significant damage to the driver's side A/B corner and discovered a passenger still trapped inside. Thanks to the department's recently obtained Jaws of Life, crews were able to swiftly cut both driver-side doors, allowing for the extrication of the injured individual. Orange Fire Department assisted, and the patient was subsequently airlifted via LifeFlight to a trauma center. The patient's current condition is unknown at this time. Officials praised the effectiveness of the grant-funded equipment, noting that it enabled them to deliver rapid, life-saving aid directly at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
