Rory McIlroy's wife Erica Stoll 'avoids Northern Ireland trip' after Masters win
Rory McIlroy made a heartwarming return to Northern Ireland this week to celebrate his Masters victory with family, but his wife
Erica Stoll was notably absent
, staying back in the US.
The golf star touched down in
Belfast
last Friday, where he was met with
cheers from an eager crowd
and security personnel as he held his daughter Poppy. However, Stoll was not seen among the entourage.
Stoll, who previously worked for the PGA of America, is understood
to have stayed stateside
while McIlroy spent time with his parents and Poppy. This follows McIlroy's recent comments that left some surprised when he didn't mention his wife in the list of his supportive "village" after clinching the major title.

In a post-Masters interview, McIlroy expressed gratitude for his support network: "I have had an incredible support system the whole way throughout my life as an only child, the support that I had from my parents, they saw some potential in me as a golfer. And they gave me every opportunity to try to fulfil that potential."

He continued, highlighting the importance of his caddie and family. "To have Harry on the bag. I have a, as you call it, a village. But it's a close-knit village and it's pretty small, but everyone that's in there means an incredible deal to me. I think as well, to have Poppy there and to see... You know, I want to make her proud, I want her to be able to experience these things," Mcllroy said.
Shortly after
Rory McIlroy
filed for divorce from wife Erica Stoll in May 2024, the pair announced their heartwarming reunion. "Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together," McIlroy revealed to The Guardian. He added: "Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning."
During the tour, there was rumors that Mcllroy had been having some form of a relationship with CBS sports reporter Amanda Balionis while they were both out on tour. Neither Amanda nor Rory have outright addressed these rumors and none have been proven true so far.
"It took 17 Masters starts, 11 years of attempting to complete the career Grand Slam and 73 this week but Rory McIlroy has his Green Jacket and has solidified his legacy alongside Tiger, Jack, Gary, Hogan and Sarazen. What a week and a battle down to the very end," Balionis said of Mcllory's win on Instagram.
However, the Mcllroy and Stoll were all smiles at the Masters, where they were seen taking celebratory photos with their daughter Poppy following McIlroy's tournament victory.
The golf world is now buzzing with speculation on whether Stoll will be present at McIlroy's upcoming challenge at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. At this event, he aims to retain his title, won last year with pal Shane Lowry, who recently confirmed their commitment to compete again.
"We'll be there.I talked to him [on Wednesday] morning. We're good to go. To be honest, I didn't want him to feel like he had to play because of me," assured Lowry.
Lorwy noted: "He's not letting me down if he wanted to take some time [off]. He feels like he wants to get back out there. He feels like next week is a good week to [return to the course]. So, yeah, we'll be there."

Bill Belichick under fire as UNC staff 'concerned' about Jordon Hudson scandal
UNC chiefs are reportedly concerned about Jordan Hudson's influence on Bill Belichick ahead of his first season in Chapel Hill after she caused a stir during his recent interview with CBS. The NFL legend had sat-down with reporter Tony Dokoupil to promote his new book, "The Art of Winning," when he was asked how he had met his 24-year-old girlfriend . Before he could reply, however, Hudson butted in with a swift: "We're not talking about this", before telling Dokoupil: "No", when he looked over in her direction to confirm. The clip has been widely shared across social media and has led to concern among fans. In a voiceover, Dokoupil reveals how their relationship is "a topic neither one of them is comfortable talking on," adding how Hudson was a "constant presence" during his interview with Belichick. It left many fans questioning Hudson's behavior and calling the interview one of the most "awkward" they've ever seen. Read More Related Articles Justin Thomas dismisses Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau theory after Masters drama Read More Related Articles Rory McIlroy to skip tournament for 'reset' after Shane Lowry title defense doesn't go to plan It has since been revealed by TMZ Sports that at one point during the Q&A, Hudson got so heated that she even stormed out of the room and delayed shooting for 30 minutes, while there were numerous other instances of her butting in to stop and correct the 73-year-old - even when he was answering questions about football . Belichick had also only arrived at the interview with Hudson and no one from his publishing company or the University of North Carolina . He had been scheduled to sit down for a second interview at a later time but his girlfriend's antics in the CBS Studio meant it was ultimately scrapped. It appears as though fans aren't the only one's concerned by the situation, however, with the report adding how the whole ordeal isn't sitting well with Belichick's new employers. Higher-ups at UNC are said to be concerned about Hudson's influence on Belichick's tenure at Kenan Stadium, especially after appearing to have taken on a role as his manager, with a source telling TMZ that there's a "growing sense this could become a problem." UNC chiefs are said to be concerned about Jordon Hudson's influence on Bill Belichick following his car crash interview with CBS (Image: X/Twitter - CBS Sunday) Earlier this month, Hudson faced backlash for attending a UNC practice session , after a clip of her standing next to Belichick as players were put through drills at the Kenan Stadium went viral on social media. The influencer was wearing a long Carolina blue coat over a white top paired with a blue skirt and white boots as she spoke to Belichick on the sideline. While many took issue with Belichick bringing his partner to a practice session, it appeared that the former cheerleader-turned-influencer was helping the UNC coach deal with audio equipment. NBC Sports claims that Hudson is part of a team working on a documentary about Belichick's venture into college football . It came shortly after it was revealed that the veteran coach had requested his girlfriend be copied on correspondence as part of emails uncovered by Axios and The Assembly . A second post from The Assembly then revealed that other emails showed Hudson getting copied on messages regarding whether to accept interview requests, giving some credence to previous reports that claimed Hudson was the coach's 'de facto agent.'

Bryson DeChambeau's brutal assessment of 'diabolical' LIV Golf course
Bryson DeChambeau slammed Club de Golf Chapultepec as "diabolical" after enduring another bout of final-round woes, this time unfolding at LIV Golf Mexico City . The American powerhouse entered the third round atop the leaderboard, following an encouraging start which was helped by some huge drives . Nevertheless, as the round progressed, the Crushers' leader was overtaken by Joaquin Niemann, who clinched his third LIV season trophy and a prized berth in the U.S. Open. For DeChambeau, it marked yet another difficult Sunday — his second in just a fortnight. Earlier in the month, DeChambeau watched the Masters' victory and his chance at a first green jacket slip through his fingers as Rory McIlroy triumphed, securing the career Grand Slam and snapping an 11-year major drought . Read More Related Articles Justin Thomas dismisses Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau theory after Masters drama Read More Related Articles Rory McIlroy to skip tournament for 'reset' after Shane Lowry title defense doesn't go to plan Despite being only two shots back from McIlroy at Augusta National going into the final day, he briefly took the lead with just two holes played on Sunday before stumbling due to costly mistakes. He must have longed for redemption in Mexico, but once more faltered when it mattered most. Many had predicted DeChambeau would prosper in Mexico City's high altitude, where the thin air would further amplify his formidable driving distance. His tee-off prowess was evident all week, yet it did not translate into bagging his inaugural LIV crown since the preceding year. After blazing through the course with an impressive eight-under-par 63 on day one, DeChambeau shared his thoughts with the press: "The golf course is gettable, but it's diabolical, as well. There were a lot of moments where I felt like I was going to get it to nine, ten-under, and there were moments where I'm like, man, 'I could be three-under or two-under easily if I don't get my act in shape." He continued to describe the whimsical nature of the course, saying: "It's a teeter-totter golf course. You can hit a drive down by the green, but it depends on the lie, depends on the flag, depends on if you can make some six, seven-footers out here." Questions followed on the subsequent day seeking further insights into the conditions that presented the main challenges, particularly regarding the taxing pin positions. Bryson DeChambeau had another tough Sunday at LIV Mexico City (Image: Getty Images) Elaborating on the difficulties posed, he explained, "So there's some areas where the grass is really thick. And you barely get in the rough, and you can have a super thick li,e and it comes out dead and you have no control of the ball, and there are areas where in the rough it's super firm and dry and fast and you can get fliers out of there.." Ending with a reflection on the greens, he emphasized the stark contrast of playing conditions. "On the greens, if you're above the hole on certain pin locations, considering where they placed them this week, it's nearly impossible. So really, placing yourself in good positions and giving yourself a chance to make birdie every single hole is key, but it's diabolical because of that dry factor and then wet factor that we have out here." Although DeChambeau didn't emerge victorious, he seemed to have won over the Mexican crowd, who showed him a lot of love. He praised their support, saying: "They're amazing people, encouraging, loving, just want to support you and cheer you on and shout your name really, really loud."

Kanye West says he's received 'death threats' after controversial 'incest' lyrics
Kanye West has recently come forward with the startling revelation that he's been receiving death threats after confessing to an incestuous encounter with his male cousin. The 47-year-old rap mogul, whose estranged wife Bianca Censori reportedly gave a brutal ultimatum to save their marriage , made headlines last week with a barrage of bombshell statements while promoting his latest tracks. In a jaw-dropping admission tied to his new song "Cousins," Kanye disclosed: "My name is Ye, and I sucked my cousins d--- till I was 14." Following this personal disclosure, the artist behind hits like "Carnival" - who recently claimed his reportedly antisemitic tweets mean he hasn't seen his kids this year - took to social media to share a concerning update, claiming that the threats to his life have intensified since he exposed this family secret. He went on to advocate: "Study Torah daily because it brings life and blessing," a statement that sharply contrasts his earlier controversial remarks about Judaism and related topics, reports the Express US . West posted a series of inspiring spiritual quotes from the Torah, beginning with: "Pray with sincerity not just with words. Always seek to bring peace between people. Saving one life is like saving the whole world. Serve God with joy and gladness of heart. Bring happiness to others and inherit the World to Come." He urged his followers on X to focus on gratitude and compassion every day, adding: "Bless God every day for the miracles of life. Emulate God's mercy by being kind and compassionate. Accept hardships with faith that they are for good. Torah study protects the soul from the evil inclination. Those who study Torah at night are surrounded by grace during the day. Give charity in secret without seeking honor. Speak kindly to everyone and spread peace." Kanye continued to express his spiritual views, emphasizing the importance of sincerity and repentance in daily life. He wrote: "Worship God with sincerity because He desires the heart. Repentance has the power to heal the world. Humility allows the Torah to take root in a person. Find a reason to rejoice every single day." Kanye West has claimed to have received "death threats" (Image: (Image: Getty)) The musician wrapped up his extended tweet with a message for compassion and understanding, saying: "Judge others favorably and spread kindness. The purpose of the Torah is to bring peace to the world." West shared a personal story behind his track "COUSINS," which delves into family trauma. He revealed the song's inspiration: "This song is called COUSINS about my cousin that's locked in jail for life for killing a pregnant lady a few years after I told him we wouldn't 'look at dirty magazines together' anymore." He expressed a deep sense of guilt, admitting: "Perhaps in my self-centered mess, I felt it was my fault that I showed him those dirty magazines when he was six, and then we acted out what we saw." The song has sparked controversy due to Kanye's explicit lyrics reflecting on his past with his cousin. In the lyrics, he raps: "Hanging with my cousin reading dirty magazines / We seen some n-as kiss, and we ain't know what that s–t mean / Then we start reenacting everything that we had seen / That's when I gave my cousin head." He goes on to say: "People tell me take it to my grave," and adds: "'Truth will set you free someday.' I don't think they understand that I'm not attracted to a man." The music video for "Cousins" features jarring imagery, including raw home-video footage, provocative visuals like a woman with swastikas for nipples, a sign that reads "4 f----ts," and a burning cross. In a heartfelt moment on Jimmy Kimmel's show in 2018, Kanye opened up, saying: "My cousin is locked up for murder, and I love him. He did a bad thing, but I still love him." Kardashian, the entrepreneur behind SKIMS, also mentioned the cousin during a meeting with Marc M. Howard, who leads the Frederick Douglass Project for Justice, in April 2020. She detailed the family's plight: "Kanye's aunt, my husband's aunt, his cousin has a double life sentence for a murder that he committed when he was 17."
