Telfair Museum holding multiple events to start June
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Telfair Museum has announced it will be holding two events to kick off the month of June.
First will be the Telfair's Jepson Center hosting a Juneteenth event on Saturday, June 7. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
On June 10, the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum will partner with the Telfair Museums to present a Juneteenth lecture. It will take place on Tuesday, June 10, at 6:00 p.m. Those in attendance will learn about Gullah Geechee culture, history, and beliefs with Author, Emmy-nominated Performing Artist, and Cultural Interpreter Ron Daise.
This event is free and open to the public.

Here Are the Performers & Presenters for the 2025 Tony Awards
The Tony Awards on Sunday night (June 8) will include performances from all five nominees for best musical and all four nominees for best revival of a musical — as well as two more 2024-25 shows — Just in Time, which stars Tony-nominated Jonathan Groff as legendary performer Bobby Darin, and Real Women Have Curves, which features Tony-nominated Justina Machado. There will also be a special 10th anniversary salute to Hamilton, with a performance by that show's original cast. Three of that show's stars, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Ariana DeBose, are also set to present on the show. The ensemble, founded by Michael McElroy, won a 2019 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theater. Cynthia Erivo, who won a Tony in 2016 for The Color Purple, is set to host the show for the first time. Brian Stokes Mitchell, who won a Tony for in 2000 for a revival of Kiss Me, Kate, will serve as the show's announcer. The show will air from Radio City Music Hall in New York City for the first time in three years. Other presenters include Adam Lambert, who played the emcee in Cabaret on Broadway; Lea Michele, who starred on Broadway in a revival of Funny Girl; and Sara Bareilles, a three-time Tony nominee and past Tonys cohost. Past Tony winners Aaron Tveit, Bryan Cranston, Kelli O'Hara, Kristin Chenoweth, Lea Salonga and Sarah Paulson are also set to present. Darren Criss and Renée Elise Goldsberry are set to host the pre-show, dubbed The Tony Awards: Act One. This could be a very big night for Criss, who is also a leading nominee for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a musical for Maybe Happy Ending. Two nominated shows, Buena Vista Social Club (which received 10 nods) and Stanger Things: The First Shadow (which got five) are guaranteed to go home with awards. The musicians who make up the band Buena Vista Social Club have been voted a special Tony Award. Other special Tonys will be presented to the illusions and technical effects of Stranger Things: The First Shadow. Lena Waithe Dropped Over $35,000 for a Special Piece of 'The Mary Tyler Moore' Set: 'I Will Cherish This'

The sale took place on Wednesday, June 4, at Doyle's "The Collection of Mary Tyler Moore" auction. The humble prop was the highlight of the auction, receiving a ton of interest due to its prominence in the background of a beloved sitcom, which aired from 1970 to 1977. Original estimates had the piece going for anywhere from $5,000 to 8,000. The piece far exceeded expectations, opening at $14,000 and ultimately selling for a stunning $35,200. In a statement about the sale, Waithe shares, "I will cherish this piece of television history for the rest of my life. I feel honored to have custody of it until it's time to pass it along to someone else." Moore began leading The Mary Tyler Moore Show in 1970, not long after her starring role on The Dick Van Dyke Show. The show was produced by her company, MTM Enterprises, which was behind many successful TV series. Her TV alter ego, Mary Richards, was not that different from the real Moore, the late actress once told PEOPLE in 1974. 'I never went the actors' studio route. I'm not an actress who can create a character. I play me. I'm scared that if I tamper with it I might ruin it,' she shared, noting her single girl character happened, in part, because she didn't want to play married again, and CBS didn't want her character to be divorced. The Post tests Sydney Sweeney's soap made with her bathwater

Sydney Sweeney released a sultry soap made with her used bathwater — and The Post managed to scoop up two samples before the 5,000 bars sold out in less than a minute online Friday. Advertisement The 27-year-old Emmy-nominated star teamed up with the 'natural manly soap' brand Dr. Squatch to create Sydney's Bathwater Bliss. Here's what our 'judges' had to say about the $8 bars: 4 'When your fans start asking for your bathwater, you can either ignore it, or turn it into a bar of Dr. Squatch soap,' Sydney Sweeney said in a news release. Dr Squatch/MEGA Advertisement 'For starters, it is the worst tasting celebrity bathwater-based product I've ever tried,' Post reporter Chris Harris quipped. 'Sadly, it is also the closest I am ever going to get to Sydney's bathtub,' he added.
