Paige Turley suffers 'wardrobe malfunction' at Pride of Scotland Awards
The ex Love Islander suffered a wardrobe mishap just before taking to the red carpet at the Daily Record's Pride of Scotland Awards tonight, June 23.
Former Love Island star Paige Turley was victim to a serious wardrobe malfunction at tonight's Pride of Scotland Awards in Glasgow. The Daily Record's award ceremony champions the nation's unsung heroes, and is often referred to as our 'People's Oscars'.
Scots TV personality and singer Paige Turley was broadcasting all the gossip from the red carpet (wardrobe malfunctions and all) alongside Stevie Jukes tonight. The annual awards ceremony was then hosted by Elaine C Smith and Sanjeev Kohli, and included an exclusive list of award-winners including Sir Chris Hoy.
This is Paige's fourth year as red carpet host and she said ahead of the event that she was looking forward to teaming up with Stevie to spill all the insider info. The 27-year-old, who co-hosted last year with Love Island's Laura Anderson, said: 'I'm excited about hosting with Stevie as he is a really lovely guy and hopefully we will compliment each other.
'I'm all about the style and fashion and he can talk to folk about other things. Our job is to put everyone at their ease because the red carpet can be a daunting place, especially for the winners."
The TV star also spoke to the Daily Record on the red carpet tonight ahead of her hosting duties, in a gorgeous floor-length strapless black dress decorated with rhinestones.
But when asked to do a twirl for the cameras, Paige revealed that a slight mishap with her outfit prevented her from turning around.
She said while laughing: "I actually can't [do a twirl], because there's a slight wardrobe malfunction."
The star then explained the perfect comedic timing of her dress ripping before the awards.
Paige continued: "So as I'm getting into the taxi on the way to the awards, my boyfriend Kieran kindly noticed that I had a slit on my backside."
The star has been loved up with her boyfriend Kieran Tumilowicz, a scaffolder from her hometown in West Lothian, since last June.
She continued: "Somebody is running up the carpet right this minute with a needle and thread to try and sew me back into this dress.
"So I would love to give you a whirl but I can't."
Paige has attended Scotland 's People's Oscars several times before, and explained that it's the kids' awards that she loves to see the most.
She continued: "Do you know what, I love the kids' winners, they melt my heart.
"It's such an honour to be here again and I think everyone is well-deserving, but the kids are the ones that catch my heart especially."
Other celebs attending the ceremony tonight include Laura Anderson, Al Murray and Susan Boyle.
