'Not acceptable': Warriors coach regrets journo clash

Yahoo27-03-2025

The Warriors assistant coach who grabbed a journalist by the throat says he regrets his outburst in Las Vegas and wants to move on from the saga.
A club statement on Wednesday said Richard Agar had a "different view" on the contents of the breach notice handed down after the incident, which occurred on game day during the NRL's second annual trip to the US earlier this month.
But Agar has nevertheless accepted the punishment offered by the NRL last week, meaning he will miss three matches and pay $5000 in fines.
"I regret what happened and I know it's not acceptable," Agar said in a club statement.
"I accept the penalty and now want to move forward and learn from this."
Agar will also undergo education and training programs and pay an additional $5000 in fines if he reoffends.
The Warriors distanced themselves from Agar's backstage outburst at Allegiant Stadium, where the club faced Canberra in the first match of the NRL season.
Agar is thought to have known the English-based journalist he physically confronted, having previously coached in the European Super League competition.
"It's in the best interests of the club, the players and the game to accept the penalty and move on," said Warriors chief executive Cameron George.
"We don't condone Richard's actions. While he has a different view on some elements of the breach notice he wants to put the club first and accept the decision."
As part of his punishment, Agar cannot travel with the Warriors to Australia for the round-four and round-five clashes against Wests Tigers and Melbourne.
The Warriors have won their past two games since a hefty defeat to the Raiders in Las Vegas and face the Tigers at Campbelltown this Sunday.
The Auckland side will be without Roger Tuivasa-Sheck after the veteran suffered a hamstring injury in last week's tight win over the Sydney Roosters.
The former Dally M Medallist is expected back in round 11, with Adam Pompey shifting to the wing in his absence.

Inter Milan Hoping For Possibility Of Revenge Vs Inzaghi & Al-Hilal In FIFA Club World Cup Quarterfinals

Inter Milan Hoping For Possibility Of Revenge Vs Inzaghi & Al-Hilal In FIFA Club World Cup Quarterfinals Inter Milan are hoping that they can have a chance for revenge against Simone Inzaghi and Al-Hilal in the Club World Cup quarterfinals. This is highlighted in today's print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. Advertisement Inter Milan take on Fluminese in the round of sixteen in the Club World Cup today. At stake is a place in the quarterfinals against either Manchester City or Al-Hilal. And the Nerazzurri will consider the possibility of taking on Al-Hilal a particularly enticing one. Inter Milan Hoping For Revenge Against Simone Inzaghi & Al-Hilal MUNICH, GERMANY – MAY 31: Simone Inzaghi. Head. Coach of. FC. Internazionale, reacts during the. UEFA Champions. League Final 2025 between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Internazionale Milano at Munich Football Arena on May 31, 2025 in Munich, Germany. (Photo by) It was only a few weeks ago that Simone Inzaghi made the decision to leave Inter Milan and join Al-Hilal. The rumours had been swirling that the Suadi Pro League club were in talks with the 49-year-old before Inter's Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain. Advertisement Therefore, it is hard for the Nerazzurri to avoid the bitter feeling that Inzaghi was distracted heading into that final. There is little doubt that the primary factor in Inzaghi's decision to leave was money. The former Lazio coach was hardly lacking for cash at Inter, but the Nerazzurri could never get anywhere near Al-Hilal's offer. Therefore, it would be fair to say that Inzaghi's decision didn't go down terribly well at Inter. And if the Nerazzurri are to beat Fluminese today, then they will certainly be watching the subsequent semifinal match closely. If Manchester City are to beat Al-Hilal, then inter can have the satisfaction of having gone further than their old coach. However, if the Saudi Pro League club are to spring an upset, it would give Inter the opportunity to get their hands on Inzaghi's team up close, a prospect for direct revenge.
