On Tuesday, June 18, 2025, Brad Marchand spoke about his hopes of joining Team Canada for the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. The Florida Panthers forward made the comments just a day after his team celebrated their back-to-back Stanley Cup win.
Despite not being named in the first group of six players picked by Hockey Canada, Marchand made it clear that he still has the dream.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Marchand said, 'Look, it's the highest achievement you can have as a Canadian-born player, to be part of Team Canada. So yeah, it's obviously a goal and something I'm going to shoot for.' He added, 'There are a million players who could play on that team. Canada is so deep and has a tremendous amount of talent, so it's going to be an uphill battle.'
