Social media reacts to an expected MSU recruiting loss in battle for local 4-star RB See how fans reacted on social media to the news that Michigan State is expected to lose recruiting battle for local 4-star running back Kory Amachree
Things can change quickly in the recruiting world, and it appears Michigan State football is on the wrong side of that kind of whirlwind for a big-time prospect in their own backyard.
Within just a few days, Michigan State football has lost the projected edge for four-star running back Kory Amachree of Haslett, Mich., who is now expected to commit to Kansas. The recruiting experts at 247Sports' entered a crystal ball prediction for Amachree to stay close to home and commit to Michigan State late last week, but on Tuesday afternoon that prediction flipped to the Jayhawks.
Amachree announced on Tuesday that he will be making his college commitment on Friday at 3 p.m. ET. He will be choosing between Michigan State, Kansas, Indiana, Pitt, Duke and Harvard.
Amachree is listed as a four-star prospect in 247Sports' composite rankings, and holds a rating of 89.63. He is ranked as the No. 24 running back and No. 6 player from Michigan in the 2026 class. He is also listed as the No. 351 overall prospect in the class.

Colin Cowherd's T.J. Watt contract rant goes viral: 'He owns the Steelers'
Colin Cowherd's T.J. Watt contract rant goes viral: 'He owns the Steelers' Colin Cowherd — the Steelers' biggest critic — is back at it again. One of the biggest stories in Pittsburgh right now is T.J. Watt's absence from mandatory minicamp amid intense contractual negotiations with the Steelers — and Cowherd weighed in. On The Herd, the controversial sports personality kept it short, sweet, and bold with his prediction on Watt's holdout situation throughout mandatory minicamp: "[Watt's] not going to show up — and you know why? Because he knows he owns Mike Tomlin. He owns the Steelers. He's going to get whatever he wants. Everybody in Pittsburgh owns a T.J. Watt jersey — [the Steelers] don't want the backlash. The Rooneys — small town — they don't want the backlash, and he's going to get whatever he wants." Cowherd would continue to tear apart the Steelers for spending premium on defense, emphasizing that Super Bowl contenders are going offense first — before ultimately concluding that extending Watt would do nothing for playoff success.
