ESPN College Gameday predicts Saturday's SEC Tournament action Does the ESPN College Gameday crew expect Auburn to play for an SEC Tournament championship on Sunday?
The SEC Tournament has reached semifinal Saturday. As expected, the top four seeds of this year's classic are competing for a spot on championship Sunday.
No. 1 seed Auburn clashes with No. 4 Tennessee to begin the day at noon CT, which will be followed by a showdown between No. 2 seed Florida and No. 3 Alabama at 3:30 p.m. CT at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Auburn won a close game with Ole Miss while Tennessee beat red-hot Texas by nine points in Friday's quarterfinal action. Florida and Alabama cruised to big wins in their quarterfinal games. The Gators beat Missouri, 95-81 while Alabama crushed SEC power Kentucky, 99-70.
Many eyes will be on Saturday's action in Nashville, including the crew from ESPN's College Gameday, who were on site at Bridgestone Arena for the semifinals of the SEC Tournament. Who will keep their SEC Tournament championship hopes alive once the dust settles on Saturday?

Ohio State Athletic Director Ross Bjork leading crusade for more football night games If you are an Ohio State football fan, you've endured more than your fair share of Buckeye noon games thanks to FOX's bet on placing its marquee game of the weekend in the early viewing window. It's been known as the Big Noon Game and falls just after the network's answer to ESPN College GameDay, a similar show with former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer, Big Noon Kickoff. To say that OSU fans are fed up with a lack of night games for the biggest of games would be an understatement. It's no secret that Ohio State games have carried the day for the Big Noon window, and many fans are clamoring for Athletic Director Ross Bjork and others to pull their weight to change what has become the status quo. The realization that the Ohio State vs. Texas game will also be highlighted at Noon seemed to make those calls even louder. But never fear, Bjork seems to be in your corner Buckeye fans. When meeting with the media last week, the new AD spoke to the so-called issue with game times, and it sure sounds like he'll be working to change OSU fans' viewing big games just after breakfast. "I think our program, our fans deserve some marquee night games. ... Really, at the end of the day, there's no flexibility in the contracts," Bjork told the media. "FOX bought the noon window. ... What we need is we need more flexibility. Can that happen anytime soon? I don't know. ... We understand why FOX went with Big Noon, we understand why we're picked all the time, but we're hoping (for) just, more flexibility." Same here, Ross. Flexibility in anything is good, especially when it comes to creating the type of environment a night game in the 'Shoe can present. How it's done, or how long we'll have to wait is the question. The current television contracts run through 2029, so it sure seems like we've got a few years before there's language that can be official. So, what we seem to be left with is people sitting down in a room or having a phone conversation to shift things a bit. We feel good about Bjork making a run at that, but ultimately, it's up to the executives at FOX to get on board with that sort of thing. Spartans move into top 25 of 247Sports, Rivals rankings with hot June on recruiting trail For the time being, Michigan State football possess a top 25 recruiting class. Michigan State remained hot on the recruiting trail this weekend, with a few more commitments coming in for the Spartans. That included a pair of commitments on Sunday from three-star edge rusher Fameitau Siale and three-star safety Jordan Vann. Those two additions has pushed Michigan State into the top 25 in a pair of notable recruiting site's team rankings. The Spartans are currently listed at No. 25 nationally on 247Sports and No. 24 on Rivals. Michigan State is up to 15 commits for the 2026 class, and currently ranked ahead of notable programs such as Tennessee, Florida, Florida State, Oregon, Michigan, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Auburn and Alabama. Recruiting rankings are essentially computed based on volume (number of commitments) and quality (rating of said commitments). But the biggest impact for a team's rankings is quantity of commits, which results in some outliers early in the recruiting process (i.e. Alabama being ranked outside the top 50 currently). Michigan State isn't necessarily an outlier being ranked this high but it's something to keep in mind as we sit five months away from the early signing period. With all of that being said, it's still notable and impressive to see Michigan State surge up into the top 25 nationally in recruiting since just about a month ago they were in the 60's range. I anticipate Michigan State's time in the top 25 to be relatively short-term, but regardless, this is still shaping up to be a pretty darn good class for Jonathan Smith and his staff. So the excitement around Michigan State's surge in recruiting is definitely warranted and worthy after this recent recruiting heater in June. Michigan football to host 5-star WR Calvin Russell for key Victors Weekend recruiting push Michigan football is wrapping up its third and penultimate big official visit recruiting weekend, and while there are some heavy hitters on campus this weekend, there are due to be even more the next. This weekend was headlined by 2026 Mineral (Va.) Louisa County five-star running back Savion Hiter, who the Wolverines have long appeared to have the lead for -- but are fending off Tennessee, Ohio State, and Georgia -- but there were other big names on campus, like athlete Salesi Moa, too. But this upcoming Friday-Sunday is 'Victors Weekend,' the final push for some of the top overall targets for the maize and blue. And one elusive prospect, who may be just behind Hiter on the wish list, appears set to make it to Ann Arbor. A top wide receiver set to visit The Wolverines have one receiver committed in the 2026 class in Dallas (Tx.) Parish Episcopal three-star Jaylen Pile. This weekend, Michigan hosted four-star Travis Johnson and had four-star Zion Robinson visit in May. But perhaps the big fish is none other than Miami (Fla.) Northwestern five-star Calvin Russell. And according to The Michigan Insider's Brice Marich, Russell is set to visit Ann Arbor this week. Russell has been setting his visits week by week, so for Michigan to get a visit at this juncture is big news for the Wolverines. Scouting report The scouting report from 247Sports' Andrew Ivins: Hulking wide receiver with above-the-rim athleticism that makes him a uniquely dangerous target, especially down in the red zone. Owns more of a slender build, but has measured over 6-foot-5 multiple times and is blessed with a near 6-foot-10 wingspan. Isn't exactly the most polished route runner at this stage, but creates separation with unexpected suddenness for such a longer strider. Superb body control tends to create even more of a disadvantage for defensive backs as he wins 50-50 battles with timing and positioning. Not going to outrun every tackle, but is quick to hit the gas and can make some dynamic cuts in traffic. Spent much of freshman and sophomore seasons repping as a run first-quarterback out of necessity before settling in as a must-look option in Year 3 for a storied Miami Northwestern program that captured a 3A championship. Will need to add some body armour to a rather wiry frame in hopes of improving play strength and buy into the process at the school of his choice, but should be viewed as a potential impact pass catcher for a College Football Playoff contender that can be positioned all around the field in hopes of creating mismatches. One of those good-at-everything athletes that could legitimately play two spots in college as he's also being recruited by basketball high majors. Russell is rated highest by 247Sports, which has him as a five-star and the No. 21 overall player in the country, regardless of position. He's also the third-best wide receiver and second-rated player from the state of Florida. He's been to Miami the most, and he's coming off of his official there -- his seventh to Coral Gables. He's also visited Florida and Oregon three times. Russell has visited Ann Arbor before, having come to campus on March 17 of this year.
