The Real Reason Thor Didn't Show Up for "Guardians Vol. 3"
Yara Sameh James Gunn has opened up about the reason behind not putting Thor in his highly beloved 'The Guardians of the Galaxy' franchise, even against the studio that produced it. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly , Gunn said he fought back against the MCU's connected timeline after he saw Thor join the Guardians in the 'Avengers: Endgame' finale. 'I said in the script notes: 'I'm not gonna put him in. I don't want to have Thor in the Guardians. I don't want to do a movie with Thor,'' Gunn explained. 'I don't understand the character that much. I love watching his movies and I love Chris Hemsworth as a guy. I don't understand how to write that character.' Gunn also discussed teasing Will Poulter as Adam Warlock in the post-credit scene of 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.' Although it panned out with the character's major role in 'Guardians 3,' at the time, it felt like 'fitting a square peg into a round hole.' 'I did not like what I did in 'Guardians 2' where we set up Adam Warlock and we set up the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and we set up all this shit that I didn't necessarily plan on,' Gunn noted. 'Well, I guess I kind of planned on fulfilling that promise, but you want to be careful about that. The way a post-credits scene works is a punch to the face, like, 'Oh my God! Look at this.' At times when you're using it just solely to set something up, sometimes you're screwing yourself over. It was not easy to work Adam Warlock into 'Guardians 3.'' Things also panned out with Thor's arc with the Guardians. Gunn said 'Thor: Love and Thunder' director Taika Waititi took on the burden of connecting Thor with the Guardians, leaving him with complete creative flexibility for 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.' 'They chose to have that ending in editing,' Gunn told Rolling Stone at the time. 'And I didn't think it was gonna be in there. 'Endgame' came out right after I decided to do 'Guardians' again. So I didn't have much say in what was in 'Endgame,' and then it came out and then I was like, 'What the fuck am I gonna do?' That's when [Marvel Studios president] Kevin [Feige] told me Taika's gonna do 'Thor,' and we'll have the Guardians in it. I said 'Thank God!' … To be completely honest, Thor was never going to be in this movie. Taika took a bullet for me. Because I was not going to have him in. I was just gonna start up and there's no Thor.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Kate Beckinsale Sues "Canary Black" Producers over Unsafe Conditions
Yara Sameh Kate Beckinsale has sued the producers of her 2024 action movie 'Canary Black,' alleging that she suffered a significant knee injury during filming on an unsafe set in Croatia. Beckinsale alleges that she was injured while shooting an action scene with minimal padding. She pointed out that the scene should have been done by a stunt performer, but that her stunt double had previously broken her ankle. The lawsuit alleges that filming days would go as long as 15 hours, despite a 12-hour limit in the actress' contract, exposing her to hazards arising from fatigue. During filming in December 2022, Beckinsale was to perform in a scene in which another actor threw her against a wall. 'Ms. Beckinsale complained that the scene did not seem safe, and that the throwing of her into the wall was too hard and too dangerous,' the lawsuit alleges. 'Notwithstanding the complaints by Ms. Beckinsale, there were numerous takes of this dangerous scene.' According to the complaint, Beckinsale suffered a complex tear of her left meniscus. She sought medical care and was out of commission for a couple of months, returning to set in February to finish the film. The "Underworld" actress alleges that even then, the producers ignored the limitations imposed by her doctors and again coerced her into performing unsafe action scenes. Beckinsale's attorneys filed a cursory version of the lawsuit in December, listing Beckinsale as 'Jane Doe.' They did not serve Anton Entertainment, the defendants, until after amending the complaint with more detailed allegations, and with Beckinsale's name, in May. "Canary Black" debuted last year on Amazon Prime. Beckinsale has had several health issues in recent years. In 2024, she disclosed that she had been hospitalized for six weeks for an esophageal tear, which she attributed to a grief response to her stepfather's death. She also said a severe flare of her mast cell disease had contributed to her illness. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand
