Cole Palmer says ‘s--- happens' live on Sky Sports after ending goal drought
Cole Palmer said that 's--- happens' after being asked live on Sky Sports about the 18-match goal drought that he finally ended with a late penalty to seal Chelsea's victory over Liverpool.
The 22-year-old also took a swipe at social media, where the criticism of him has been driven, saying it was 'full of idiots' and 'trolls'.
Palmer was man-of-the-match in the 3-1 win over the new league champions, playing a part in the two other goals, which hugely improved Chelsea's chances of finishing in the top five and qualifying for the Champions League.

The forward has not scored since mid-January, however, and said, after his goal: 'S--- happens... sorry for my language. It happens. Obviously, I went three months without scoring, but it just gives me more motivation, more fight to do well, not just for myself, but for the team.
'You know yourself, social media nowadays - just full of idiots, basically - the trolls and whatever. I don't pay no (sic) attention to that. But for today, I'm happy. But you've got to keep improving and trying to reach new levels.'
Asked whether he had, nevertheless, endured a difficult time in front of goal and that had affected him, Palmer added: 'Well, for anyone... getting chances, you're not scoring...you're letting your team down at the end of the day.
'I feel like I'm mentally strong anyway. So whatever people say, it doesn't bother me. I've had it all my life growing up, so I don't really care what people say. I feel pride in helping the team, and if I'm not doing that, obviously I'm not happy.
'Today, I felt like myself. I felt confident, I was trying things, first time passes, playing forward, playing free and when you have him [Moises Caicedo] next to you, it's a dream.'

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca insisted the lack of goals had not led to Palmer's form suffering or bothered him. 'Probably from outside,' he said of the talk about the England international. 'But we see Cole day by day on the training ground and he is exactly the same day. But to be sure he is not happy when he is not scoring goals…Cole is that kind of player that he can do things people do not expect.'
Maresca said that Chelsea now had a 'fight' to qualify for the Champions League and added: 'Hopefully in the future we can fight for something more important. In this moment we are there and hopefully we can finish there.'

Novak Djokovic scheduled to play during Champions League final
A host of top players, including Paris St Germain fan Arthur Fils, had pleaded with organisers to ensure their third-round matches did not clash with the big game against Inter Milan in Munich. Djokovic even said after his win over Corentin Moutet: 'It's going to be PSG that I will support. 'I will definitely watch it if I'm not playing the night session. Yeah, that will be nice. FYI, Roland Garros schedule…' But the 24-time grand slam champion received bad news on Friday afternoon as his clash with Austrian Filip Misolic will begin at 8.15pm local time, 45 minutes before the final kicks off. Roland Garros tournament director Amelie Mauresmo does not believe the football will disrupt the tournament. 'The Champions League final won't change much for us,' she said. 'We are trying to do the utmost for the tournament. We are very happy for PSG but we are organising our own event. 'There will be 15,000 people here so we want to give them the best possible match. 'We can't prohibit people to watch their telephone and to follow the football match simultaneously. 'There won't be 10 or 20 goals. If once or twice we have a bit of an uproar, it's going to be fine.'

We'll talk once there's a ruling – Khaldoon Al Mubarak on Man City charges
City were referred to an independent commission in February 2023 over alleged breaches of league financial rules, which City strenuously deny. The commission heard the case between September and December last year but no outcome has yet been announced. Khaldoon was asked about the charges during an in-house interview earlier this week, and said: 'Well, I suppose the only thing I can say is we still don't have a ruling. Club statement — Manchester City (@ManCity) February 6, 2023 'Once there's a ruling, I'll be able to speak about it. Until then we just have to be patient, and it'll come, and we will talk about it, I promise you, once we have the ruling.' The investigation which ultimately resulted in more than 100 charges being laid started back in 2018. City were charged with failing to report accurate financial information for nine seasons stretching from 2009-10 to 2017-18, as well as failing to provide full details of former manager Roberto Mancini's pay between 2009-10 and 2012-13. They are also charged with failing to provide full details of remuneration in contracts with players between 2010-11 and 2015-16, and with failing to co-operate with the investigation over a period from 2018 to 2023. The club said at the time the charges were laid that they welcomed the opportunity for a commission 'to impartially consider the comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence that exists in support of our position'. City won the Champions League at the end of the season the charges were laid in, securing themselves a place in FIFA's expanded 32-team Club World Cup which starts next month. World players' union FIFPRO has criticised the scheduling of the competition amid player welfare concerns and, along with Europe's domestic leagues organisation, has filed legal complaints against FIFA over a lack of consultation around the international match calendar. Despite that, Khaldoon insists the club are taking the competition seriously and treating it as the official start of next season rather than an extension of the current one. 'This is a very, very serious competition. In the summer, the whole world will be watching this,' he said. 'A big number of the top teams in the world will be competing in this tournament and I can assure you, we're going to give it our bestshot. We're going there to win it. 'This is the beginning of the new season, not the continuation of last season. The team will take the rest that they will take right now, then they start pre-season and then immediately straight into the Club World Cup.'
