NCAT wins back to back National Cheer Titles
North Carolina A&T State University's cheerleading team made history at the 2024 NCA & NDA College National Championship, securing their first-ever national title in the Intermediate Small Coed Division I. In 2025 NCAT made history again when the North Carolina HBCU won back to back national titles.
NCAT again claimed first place in the Intermediate Small Coed Division I category at the 2025 NCA & NDA College Nationals, earning an impressive event score of 95.0093. The Aggies delivered a clean routine with no deductions, pushing them ahead of Stephen F. Austin State University, which finished second with a 94.3611.
Sacramento State rounded out the top three with a score of 93.9097, despite a 0.5 deduction. The University of Central Arkansas and the College of Charleston followed closely, posting final scores of 91.919 and 91.8912, respectively.
The win marks a significant achievement for NC A&T, whose raw score of 86.1 was converted into a top-tier performance with flawless execution. Their championship performance highlights the strength and discipline of the program, solidifying the Aggies as a national powerhouse in collegiate cheer. This victory continues to elevate NC A&T's presence in the cheerleading world.
The NCA & NDA College Nationals is the premier collegiate cheerleading and dance championship in the United States. Held annually in Daytona Beach, Florida, the event brings together hundreds of college teams from across the country to compete for national titles in various divisions. While most of the former head coach Buzz Williams' 2024 coaching staff is expected to join Maryland, one key assistant will reportedly stay in College Station under McMillan. According to Texas A&M's media team, Shane Sinon, one of the lesser-known names on the coaching staff, who served as a graduate assistant under Williams last season, will now serve as McMillan's Assistant Director of Operations. According to Jaxson Callaway (AggiesToday), Sinon served as Buzz Williams' day-to-day assistant, also assisting in traveling and inventory for the program last season. Sinon appears to be a rising star in the coaching ranks and will serve under current Director of Operations Warren Fitzpatrick, assisting with team operations that include recruiting, finances, and media-based situations. This will likely finish out Texas A&M's 2025 basketball staff, which Bucky McMillan will rely on during his inaugural season and beyond. UFC 320 heads to Las Vegas in October, Vancouver gets Fight Night Weaved into Saturday's title fight madness in New Jersey was the announcement of two new UFC events for the fall. UFC 320 will take place Oct. 4 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the UFC announced during the UFC 316 broadcast. UFC 320 initially was to take place as the annual Noche UFC event in Guadalajara, Mexico. But arena construction issues recently forced that card back to the States, and it will take place Sept. 13 in San Antonio, Texas, as a Fight Night. But that also left an opening in the pay-per-view slate, and that is resolved with a card at the UFC's home-away-from-home arena at T-Mobile. No headliners have been announced. In addition, the UFC announced a Fight Night event for Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. That card will take place Oct. 18 at Rogers Arena. This will be the UFC's seventh lifetime visit to Vancouver. Most recently, UFC 289 took place there two years ago this weekend.

2026 4-star RB and Texas A&M commit has shut down his recruitment Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko was 100% on the mark this offseason when discussing Texas A&M's strong foundation under his leadership, which was proven this weekend during one of the biggest recruiting weekends of the summer, as the Aggies hosted 18 2026 prospects, including several commitments. Two of the top names in A&M's 2026 cycle include four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory and four-star running back Jonathan Hatton, who both shut down their recruitment on Saturday afternoon during the third day of their official visits. Gregory, who has been heavily pursued by Texas and others this offseason, noted his strong relationship with the coaching staff and sees himself as a perfect fit in Texas A&M's offense. For Hatton, after re-affirming his commitment earlier in the day, the Cibolo (TX) native followed Gregory in taking to social media (X) to announce that he will shut down his recruitment and cancel is future official visits, which includes his OV to Oklahoma on June 20, as the future starting running back is "1,000% locked in with Texas A&M." On the field, Hatton is an elite runner with the vision, footwork, and upfield burst to become a star at the next level, having produced 1,229 yards and 20 touchdowns while averaging 9.17 yards per carry. With Le'Veon Moss leaving after the 2025 season, bringing Hatton into the backfield lineup will provide immediate depth in 2026. According to 247Sports Composite, Hatton is currently positioned as the 77th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 5th-ranked running back, and the 10th-ranked prospect in Texas.
