Meet Walmart's Treasure Trove Of Vintage-Style Jadeite Glassware
This isn't the first (or the second) time I've sung the praises of Walmart's 'jadeite' offerings (read my other odes here and here), but until they stop making this wonderfully milky green glass so gosh darn accessible, I will be an unabashedly broken record. I actually feel like they're starting to bait me at this point, thanks to this curated landing page which makes it easier than ever to browse vintage-inspired pieces from the big-box retailer.
This was no easy task, but I've managed to whittle a list down to my top 14 pieces, and I've listed them below. I've included some basic must-haves, but also some extra special pieces I was sure could only be found by combing through flea markets or doing a deep dive on Etsy. Read on and join me in my obsession.

You really can't go wrong with some timeless dinnerware. This classic hand-pressed set comes with 12 pieces (four dinner plates, four salad plates and four bowls). If that's too many (or too few) for your taste, you can also customize your setting by purchasing individual 10-inch or 8-inch plates, and 4.5-inch bowls. The assortment (along with several other options in this story) comes from Mosser Glass, an Ohio-based business that's been manufacturing glassware since the '70s.

Since you'll probably want to enjoy a beverage with your meal, it's a good idea to add some of these 8-ounce tumblers from Mosser Glass to your collection while you're at it. If that beverage is hot, this sturdy 9-ounce mug should do the trick.

Here's another dinnerware set, but this one has scalloped edges for a bit of flourish. It comes with just three practical pieces (10.5- and 8.5-inch plates, and a 5.3-inch bowl), but you can of course buy multiples if you have more mouths to feed.

Complete your fully throwback tablescape with some of very vintage-looking salt and pepper shakers from Mosser Glass, complete with a retro 'S' and 'P' labels to prevent any mix-ups.

I lied — now your dining table is complete, thanks to this adorable little guy. I didn't know I needed a dedicated sauce cup, but now I can't imagine mealtime without it. It hold just 2.5 ounces, and presents the perfect way to serve syrup, soy sauce and the like.

These Mosser Glass mixing bowls are a practical choice for any home chef, and way more fun to use (and look at) than the standard plastic or stainless steel varieties. The nested set comes with three versatile sizes measuring 20 ounces, 40 ounces, and 65 ounces.

If you fancy yourself more of a baker, this batter bowl from Mosser Glass has a sturdy footed base, a strong handle, a convenient pouring spout, and it holds A LOT (80 ounces, which is the equivalent of 10 cups). The vintage-inspired paneled design makes it a great piece to put on display, too.

When you're in the middle of whipping up a meal, you'll definitely need a place to put that dirty spoon or spatula. This dishwasher-safe spoon rest should do the trick.

Even if your butter lives exclusively in the fridge, storing it in this jadeite dish still makes for an attractive presentation. And if you prefer your butter in whipped rather than stick form, this butter tub is the perfect alternative.

A mortar and pestle set may not be a kitchen must-have, but once you get yours hands on one, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. It's a great way to mash garlic, crush herbs, blend marinades and salad dressings, make (and serve) guacamole. This one from Mosser Glass holds two ounces and sits about three inches high.

Deviled eggs and milky green glass are both reminiscent of a bygone era, so a jadeite egg plate feels very appropriate. This one holds 12 eggs and has a handle that's both decorative and functional. If eggs aren't your thing, there's also a version with a smooth platter for finger foods and whatnot.
$51 at Walmart

This itty bitty flower pot is definitely more fashion than function (it's just 4.5 inches tall and doesn't come with a drainage hole), but who said that was a bad thing?

Candy Dish
You can absolutely enter full nostalgia mode and store some hard candies in this covered bowl from Mosser Glass. As for me, I'll be filling it with some jewelry and putting it on my dresser.
$39 at Walmart

One more for good measure: If you've joined my jadeite cult and you want the world to know (and if your home decor doesn't already prove it), this T-shirt should do the trick. The black background really makes that milky green pop.

Conan Gray Teases New Album With ‘This Song' — and Sets Fall Tour
Conan Gray took a detour into retro, bombastic synth-pop with last year's Found Heaven, and his new single, 'This Song,' is yet another evolution — a melancholy, indie-ish, string-enhanced mid-tempo track with production by Phoebe Bridgers collaborator Ethan Gruska. The song is the first release from Gray's next album, Wishbone, executive-produced by Dan Nigro. Gray also announced a new tour with opening act hemlocke springs, which begins Sept. 11 in Ohio and ends in Mexico in October. In a recent social media post, Gray explained that he had been secretly writing the songs on Wishbone, out Aug. 15, for two years. 'After shows in the basements of the venues, in the sheets of my hotel beds, in narrow gaps between tours, I'd come back home and write all the things I felt nobody wanted to hear,' he wrote. 'Maybe even the things I didn't want people to hear… I didn't know I was making anything, and I had no plan to release any of it.' Eventually, he started playing the songs for his friends, who liked them, and then took them to Nigro and began recording. Slowly I started to see myself in full picture. The slivers of myself I'd always been, but never faced. The songs I'd always been writing, but never singing.
